91st Day of Winter, 510 A.V.

As Eisi walked home form her adventure with Serrif she thought of places to take him too. What would interest a man who had seen it all? What interests Serrif? She pondered these questions and more as she reached her small home that she shared with her adopted family. Eisi entered her house only to go straight to her room, she was a bit of a mess from her adventure. Covered in salt and sand, not to mention paint. She smiled as she set down her bag, and hung the painting of Serrif on her wall. She stepped back and looked at it. Yes one of her best works so far.

Eisi turned her attention to cleaning herself up. She striped off her clothes and quickly found a brush. Taking down her hair from the braid, she combed through the tangled locks, working out the knots that formed. She left her hair down, as she walked into the wash room. Eisi had never been shy about her body, for she grew up with many women who showed her not to be ashamed. To be truthful Eisi was most comfortable naked. Eisi found a rag and washed her face. As she finished up she walked back into her room and looked for something to wear that would be easy and loose fitting. She didn't like clothing that clung to her body. For it restricted movement. She found loose white trousers and a light pink top that rested on one shoulder. She quickly put on her clothing and took a fast look at herself in the glass window, this will do she thought as she walked out of her room only grabbing shoes and money.

As Eisi left she yelled a good bye to her sisters and mother, shutting the door lightly behind her. She looked up to the sky and decided, even though it was still a bit early, to head to the beach and wait. She walked bare footed down the cobble stone path, lightly humming a sound. Her long wavy hair sawed in the breeze, almost in rhythm with the song. Eisi was excited to make a friend, one that she could learn from but also relate too in the long run. She promised Serrif that she would show him around today, and she was really excited to get started. Serrif was a man she thought that she would never meet. He seemed truly likable. She was sure that this was a start of something that would last. The day turned out to be more then she hoped for. She found inspiration and in the process made a friend. She thanked all the gods for such a wonderful day and luck. She took in the beauty before her, the sun was still high and the soft breeze told of spring. How she loved this time of year, the time when it was warm, but the smells and the feel told of spring and summer around the corner. She smiled brightly as she reached the end of the path.

Smiling, Eisi, took off her shoes, she dug her feet into the warm sand, as she stepped off the path. The sounds of the waves soothed her soul, she wondered how she would ever part with it. She closed her eyes and tilted her head as she stood on the beach. The warmth of the breeze licked her face, the smell of salt and freshness washed over her. She breathed in heavily as she opened her eyes. Her mind started to wonder, she liked Serrif, he was true through and through. He seemed not to mind her braising questions, and answered her fully. A Konti would surly fall for him, its all a matter of time. She thought about his pained look as she told him of love, she only spoke the truth that she knew, but hoped that Serrif would find it one day.

Eisi laughed as she pushed the tought away, she only wanted to be a friend to Serrif, for he would make a good one. She spun around, singing a song out loud as she waited.

Tell me something oh thy of love,
show me the world that hidden,
open the doors that will not stay shut,
For I want to be in it.

Her voice was soft as she danced and twirled, as her feet kicked up sand.

[Flashback] Around We Go (Serrif)

Postby Serrif Von Chatlyn on April 8th, 2011, 4:40 am

OOCDidn’t see this thread till just now…
Serrif really didn’t have much to do in order to prepare. He didn’t really have a change of clothing, that was why he tried his best to keep this set in its best condition. And he knew that Eisi would take some time. So he figured he would just go to his tent and tidy up some. But it hit him as he entered that he didn’t even have that many belongings to ‘tidy up’. He owned very little and well that was how he had to live for now…He needed a house. An actual house of some kind. Where he could expand it if he needed and keep everything organized. That would be good. But he needed to have an income first…And well that would require a visit to the Opal Temple. Really he hadn’t seen that much of Mura. He knew people lived there and that the Opal Temple was there. But that was really about it right now. He hoped an outing with Eisi would well help him orient where everything was. He needed that horribly.

He tidied himself up some shaving what he needed to keep himself from looking like a completely rugged homeless person. While many would consider him a vagabond he just believed the tent was temporary. Maybe he would live out of it for a year…Until he got a house and a job here. Then he would likely keep the tent just in case he traveled elsewhere for whatever reason. Or found someone who could use it because they didn’t have a home. That would be a good gift to someone who needed it. But for now he needed it. He took his coin and that was about it. He didn’t need shoes right now. Really he preferred it without them. It kept him feeling more attuned to the world around him. And well he liked this world around him far more than he would’ve thought. It was peaceful and well everything was beautiful. Almost like before now he saw everything in black and white….and now everything was in vibrant explosive color. He made it to the beach about the time Eisi started her little dance. It brought a smile to his face to see her so happy. He wondered just how many other Konti women were like her. Relatively carefree and happy. He knew a few more konti who could be more like her.

He approached her and then gently took a hand and helped twirl her around. His grip was gentle yet she could feel the strength in his grasp. He twirled her around a little and then let her go a smile on his face.

“Glad to see you are so happy today. Shall we travel into town?” He said as he motioned for her to lead the way.

“Got any secret spots to show me? I haven’t really seen anywhere but the Opal Temple as of now.” It was true he had gone through the town square but other than that his travels were pretty limited.

He wondered just how many interesting places this town could have. He was very interested in the culture of this town; and of the people. Everything was so very peaceful, everyone so loving. And well it was a wonderful place. His mind was as free as Eisi felt right now. He just didn’t feel like spinning around and dancing like her. No, today he felt like exploring, and Eisi was his guide. A local was a fine person to get a tour from. Maybe…just maybe she would show him some spots he could tour with Blythe later. But she was such a strange woman he had no clue what she liked really. Only that she was sometimes indecisive in making up her mind. But now it was about Eisi and him. They were going to tour the city and see all the things he had missed. He really did stay on the beach like a hermit; fishing and watching the waves crash on the shore. He just didn’t see a need to travel into the town yet. He was busy just trying to feed himself. Much less trying to comprehend a culture that was not his own. And then trying to figure out a way to integrate himself into it. It was like one large complex matrix that he somehow had to work out. He needed to do this, and desired to do so.
A man either lives life as it happens to him,
meets it head-on and licks it,
or he turns his back on it and starts to wither away.

Eisi smiled as Serrif took her hand and danced with her a bit, "Well good afternoon to you Noble sir." she did a mock bow and laughed. She smiled as she looked up to him, yep just as tall as she left him, she shook her head as she smiled at her inside joke. "Well lets go, Im sure you are eager to learn about our home and see what it has to offer us."

Eisi turned around and picked up her shoes. She didn't really mind calling it their home, after all Serrif was happy here it should be time he start calling it home. She walked, almost skipping to the cobble stone path that lead into town. She turned and smiled at him as he followed, "So you know that if you wish to stay here you must find a proper home, not just the tent you been living in." She looked back and gave him a small smile, "So in light of that, I decided to start our little tour with the housing section of Mura, now dont worry not all of our houses are underwater. Some of us do live above land." she grabbed his hand and pulled him along, or tried to. "So come hurry and if you get hungry please let me know, we have much to see." she was talking fast for she was excited to be seen with the man that came to their island. Not that she was showing off, well kinda in a way, she wanted to show him off. Let others see him, get to know him. If he was to make it here he would have to learn the names of the places he needed to go, not only in common but in Kontinese.

She let go of his hand and fell into step beside him. As the walked they entered a wooden area, the afternoon light danced off the branches throwing long shadows over the cobble stone path. "This is the forest where I walk often, its peaceful and its a short cut from my home to the beach." She smiled and grabbed his hand, she turned and looked at him raising an eyebrow, "You trust me?" she smiled slyly as she didn't wait for an answer. She let go and ran into the forest, staying off the path, "Come on!" she darted into the brush of the forest.

Eisi stopped and waited for him to enter, "Come on, Its not going to bite you." she laughed, her bell like laugh echoed through the forest. When he finally entered she smiled up at him and said, "While the path is a beautiful thing to walk, sometime one has to walk on their own to truly see the beauty the world has to offer," she looked away and walked slowly, beckoning him to follow, "If you stay in a straight line this will take you to the Residential area of our home, most everyone lives here that stay on the Island."

Eisi watched the ground, soon she stopped and picked up a stone that looked like a shell, "Even this far up, the water calls all life." she turned and handed him the small stone, closing his hand around it. "For good luck" she smiled and winked at him.

"Well come along." she turned with out speaking again. The forest was trees blew lightly in the wind, soft sounds of song birds surrounded them. She stopped at a clearing, she looked back and grabbed Serrifs hand and gently pulled him up next to her, "Here is our homes" What laid out before then where houses on land, half in land in water, and some where completely immersed in water itself. ." The small cottage on off the cobble stone path is the home I grew up in," she pointed at a cute cottage, "And over there in the water, well I used to go visit often when I was young," she smiled at him "Its called Silver lake," she smiled as she held his hand lightly, "Serrif what are you thinking?"

[Flashback] Around We Go (Serrif)

Postby Serrif Von Chatlyn on April 21st, 2011, 5:51 pm

The words ‘our home’ almost seemed to startle him. How was this his home; to the best of his knowledge he really hadn’t done anything to contribute just yet. He had to his knowledge really only taken. He was still unsure what he wanted to do with himself here on the isle. He wanted to live here. Yes this much was indeed true. But as far as everything else that he needed to take care of….well he wasn’t sure how to achieve any of it. He had heard the women speaking another language. One that seemed to be native to the people here. He wanted to learn that. Maybe it would help him gain some knowledge of the people here. He had been listening carefully to the women speak it. But he was still unsure of a good amount of the language. He didn’t dare speak it though in fear that he could and would offend someone by saying something he didn’t even know he was. He knew for now that the women also seemed to speak common. SO that allowed him to communicate effectively for now. But he also wanted to learn the native tongue; part of assimilation into a culture he believed.

“Seeing the housing would be nice.” He said really not intending on buying a house just yet. He knew he didn’t have the funds and well he had a tent and that was good for him. It protected him from the elements and well that was about all he needed it do to honestly.

She was indeed being a wonderful tour guide. He knew that he would get a deeper and better appreciation for the Konti women through seeing all of Mura that Eisi would show him. It was interesting that he had gone this long without a proper tour. But he didn’t want just any tour. He wanted a tour from a Konti that he knew. SO he could ask somewhat embarrassing questions and get true answers. She spoke about the forest and Serrif smiled. He remembered the forest; but not because it was peaceful. He remembered it for other reasons.

His mind began to trail off on the thoughts of the camp. How it too was settled in the forest. He still wasn’t sure why that was. But he wasn’t sure of many answers. Many many more questions resided in his mind than answers. He had things he still wanted answered but had no way of getting answered. He would have to hunt down some answers like prey; and still others he was sure would never adequately be answered in any way. But he would try to get them answered all in good time.

“I do trust you.” He said as she questioned him. He wondered just what she had in store for him now. Usually that question was really asked only before doing something ludicrous. So it was more of a warning than an actual question. What she should’ve said was ‘want to do something crazy?’ but do you trust me was more polite he supposed. As well as a little more proper.

She let go of his hand and darted off into the forest. Well his answer hadn’t fallen on deaf ears. But at the same time she was going to do what she wanted and just wanted to corral him along it seemed. He followed after her. This wasn’t the first time he had taken off through brush and such. He followed her in what seemed like a stroll through the unmarked forest path.

She handed him a stone and gave him a wink. He smiled. “Seems my life is full of luck. In ways I could never have imagined” He spoke truthfully. His life had been one big strange adventure before this place.

Serrif felt her gently grab his hand and pull him up beside her as she outlined where they were. And why it was important to her. She had grown up here. That sent his mind spinning as he was then asked what he was thinking.

“I only wonder where I grew up.”
The words were simple; yet they carried a heavy truth with them. He truthfully couldn’t remember where he had grown up. Or even remember much before the slaver camp. He just…knew he was human and well that was about it. Three were no records at the camp. And even if there were it wasn’t like he had read them. So if there were records of where he was from and all he had never even seen them or even heard of such records existing.

“But I am here now.” He said challenging his past and settling his future. He was here now. And well as far as he need be concerned that was all that mattered right now.
A man either lives life as it happens to him,
meets it head-on and licks it,
or he turns his back on it and starts to wither away.
