[Sultros Blades] Choices, Choices... (Bolivar, Kiizir)

Postby Bolivar on April 6th, 2011, 7:08 pm

As the other Isurian lowered his guard Bolivar didn't hesitate in hitting him in the face a few times while Kiizar tried to close the distance. Right before his opponent got within three feet of him he started doing the motions for an upswing down the middle. Trying to defend this with an axe. It isn't going to-. His thoughts stopped short as he felt two sharp pains first envelop in his body, his eyes shifted over to see red feathers his eyes opened wide as he realized what happened. Who shot at him he thought as he turned to feel another arrow's handiwork pinch his shoulder. He turned to see a decent hole in his leather as the arrowhead stuck out a bit from his shoulder.

He took in a few deeper, labored breaths as the scene finally concluded. "Hmph, so much for a spar. All the same I doubt I can get a good response from either of you" he said as he clutched at his shoulder. He straightened up looking rather irked as he looked over his injuries again. He flicked at the arrow in his wrists, a wave of pain nearly causing him to lose balance. Yep, he thought a thin layer of sweat forming on his brow, there's an arrow in me. He watched as the knights made their way to the field, a miffed look on his face.

[Sultros Blades] Choices, Choices... (Bolivar, Kiizir)

Postby Kiizir on April 28th, 2011, 3:36 am

Kiizir’s vision blurred as the other Isurian landed a few solid blows to his face. How he managed it from such a distance was beyond his understanding. None the less, he was determined to dish out as much pain as he received. Kiizir noticed the man readying for an attack, one he likely would not be able o counter.

Thankfully, a few thuds halted all movement, from all parties. Kiizir lowered his weapon, and studied the sweaty face of Bolivar. The man had been pierced by several arrows. The arrows themselves where rather small and unimpressive. Though from that short of a distance he imagined they would still deal a great amount of pain.

He noticed the arrow at his feet also, and slowly eyed the men standing along the wall. The fabled Knights of Syliras have arrived on scene. Probably due to the idiotic attacks Bolivar had landed against one of their own Squires. Kiizir, full of rage and tired of hearing cocky remarks from Bolivar. Decided he was going to take advantage of the situation.

He tightened his grip on his massive weapon. The decision was made, how ever foolish it was. He would exact his revenge from Bolivar. Kiizir took a step forward, despite the warnings he had received from the knights. “Petch off” He said softly. Simultaneously, Kiizir flung his over sized axe toward Bolivar. The blade was spinning in the air, if he timed it right it should hit precisely between his neck and collar bone. A kill shot for sure, if Bolivar did not move in time.

Though the boys seemed to be trying everything in their power to turn this into a mad scene, the knights were well trained in keeping down the level of clusterfuck that the situation could descend to.

The zing! of arrows had some of the bystanders beating a hasty retreat, locals who knew better than to even look like you were involved in this sort of brawl. The rest just sort of milled about and gave appreciative gasps at each twist and turn of the tale that would surely be making its way 'round the taverns tonight.

The pair of knights who were walking steadily towards them, however, were not the only knights who were watching. They were still well within the sights of several men and women on the Wall. Though most were keeping their eyes on the magician - who'd dropped his too-big sword as soon as the arrow hit his shoulder since it was a two-handed weapon and too heavy to wield with just one - that didn't mean the movements of the others went unnoticed.

When Kiizir's grip tightened around his axe, a woman's voice called out from the wall. "I said hold!" she screamed, the last warning he would get. The scream, though, caught the attention of the rest of her brothers and sisters. When Kiizir took a single step forward and raised his axe, face twisting with rage and a curse tumbling from his lips, they took no chances. He got as far as lifting it. When he began his lunge forward to release the axe and kill his opponent, there was another high-pitched sound as another half-dozen arrows streaked down from the wall and riddled Kiizir's body. The force of the blows jerked him forward, and his axe went wild and high - though if Bolivar didn't duck down, he'd still get conked in the head with the handle of it as it went flying past.

The attacker, though, now had two arrows in his right arm, three piercing his back with one going all the way through to explode out of the middle of his chest, and a final arrow lodged in the cheek of his ass. There were, after all, a few squires working the Wall and they weren't all as good of shots as they should have been. Despite the one off-shot, that was still three in the lungs and those weren't bad odds at all so far as putting your target down went.
PLEASE NOTE: Finals are over, but summer is eating my soul. As such, as of the end of June I will not be accepting any new quests/modded threads until I finish some of the ones I've already started/agreed to. My apologies for this, but I don't want to be unfair to those who have been waiting for replies!

[Sultros Blades] Choices, Choices... (Bolivar, Kiizir)

Postby Dimitri on April 30th, 2011, 1:56 am

Dimitri watched the scene go from bad to worse. The axe wielding man had descended into a rage and lashed out at the other. He did this by bringing his axe high and throwing the heavy death bringer across the yard. Several twangs echoed over the area. Two arrows pierced the man's thick arms, three striking hard into his chest, and one, clearly a poor shot, in the man's ass. Dimitri kept the wince that tried to come forth beneath his reserved exterior. He saw the axe spinning handle over biting blade, noticing it's path was high.

As the two Knights approached, Dimitri snapped to attention. He held his shield squarely at his side and bowed to them. He didn't let loose any apologies or excuses. He merely stood there, rigid as a board, stoicism on his face, to await further orders or reprimanding. He was nervous but was at least nowhere near as bad off as the other two. One died before his eyes. He'd never seen anyone die before. But it wasn't nearly as monumental as he figured it would be. Maybe it was because he didn't do the slaying himself. He felt no pity for the man, no regret. He made his choice. Dimitri was only sorry to have left his reputation exposed to such a mar. And to have not actually gotten the chance to spar.

[Sultros Blades] Choices, Choices... (Bolivar, Kiizir)

Postby Bolivar on May 3rd, 2011, 7:26 pm

Bolivar thought the arrows imbedded into him was reason enough to assume that the fight was over. This was a very novice mistake on his part as he turned away from Kiizar as the Knights approached. Too often people would turn away from their opponents, not thinking that in the heat of the moment that their aggresors would probably try to go for one more slice. Usually after that defining stroke, it truely was over.

However this wasn't the case. Luckily there was a small group of knights watching Bolivar as he turned just in time to see Kiizar already impaled by the force of nearly half a dozen arrows. The scene was disturbing enough as Bolivar watched, not noticing the axe still flying haphazardly in the air. He involuntarily ducked to the left, a moment late getting clipped by the handle of the axe before it spun away from him landing on the ground a few meters behind him. The force of the impact was enough to have Bolivar lurch to side before falling on the ground favoring one side. The arrow on his shoulder sent out another pulse of pain as he fell causing him to wince in pain before letting out a muffled exasperation of pain. He looked up to see what happened to Kiizar to cause him to drop his weapon.

He watched glumly as Kiizar fell dead, raising his unharmed arm over his head to cover his face in disgust. In truth he really didn't expect the sudden display of emotion from the pure Izurian, especially in front of these... these... phyk- ...humans he thought, struggling not to curse in his anger. He was to be better trained for that and he had to show that he was willing to put aside their differences, especially now. He knew that the lawmen in the area were pretty stern, but corrupt they were not. True they might have struck at him in confusion and killed his countryman but they done so in accordance with their laws, something that Bolivar had to face as well.

"...You surprised us there," he said as the knights approached, he adopted an air of suspicion in effect to the events that transpired. He looked for his weapon that used to be in his hand but let out a mew of pain as he realized he lost it. He then remembered that he dropped the sword in the grass besides them as he was hit by the axe handle, he barely had enough strength left to hold it up with one hand and the sudden movement caused it to tip over and fall harmlessly into the ground. Bolivar watched as the knights approached, leaving no time for him to even take a step to retrieve his weapon. In truth he really was surprised by the first actions that the knights did, a bit relieved at the second action but shocked nonetheless. "I don't suppose your here to talk pleasantries, ...sir" he spoke clearly. Obviously he did something that they didn't approve of, but whether they'll condone him on a mere ...misunderstanding he wasn't too sure of. He put his arm down to look upon them face on, perhaps an honest look is what is needed now more then ever.

He took a deep breath and swallowed, trying to keep his dry throat down. Of course being of the military faction of the Izurians had it's benefits of training but he still wasn't that experienced of a campaigner to shrug off close calls like that. He tried to assume a more or less upright position as he waited for the lead knight to address them. "So...what seems to be the problem? Or rather, what was the problem before my brethern intervened?" he asked, finding a sudden interest in the scenery behind the knight before he looked back at them. Bolivar felt the constant boreing pain in his arm and shoulder as he tried to keep a straight face, still wary of the archers up on the ramparts. Eventually he dropped the humble act as he finally spoke in a hurried tone "Hey can we hurry this up? I'm not really looking for any trouble other then a somewhat heated spar, which ...you apparently condone. So let's just get on with it" he said glumly, a bit worried about what actions the knights might do. Even now a worm of doubt started to form in his stomach, leading him to think that the squire might have planned for this.

[Sultros Blades] Choices, Choices... (Bolivar, Kiizir)

OOCSo so sorry for the long wait on the reply. Life got crazy! Once I make this post, you guys should be free to keep going without me, so no more waiting!

The pair of knights who'd been walking towards them had drawn their weapons at the yell of their sister on the wall - one man carrying a light Gladius and the other a wickedly sharp half-spear - and they kept a tight grip on them as they finally reached the scene of what might have been just a normal spar had magic not gotten involved.

"You should learn when to shut up," the sword-weilding one growled at Bolivar as the other went to go see if Kiizar was still alive. A quick poke of the end of his spear confirmed that the Isur was quite dead. "You're the one started this madness, so do us a favor and quiet down until we ask you something."

Dimitri would recognize both of them, older knights who regularly worked the Gates. Both wore battle-scars like banners of pride, and though the one holding the spear limped a little, there was no doubt he still knew how to hold his weapon. Ser Ukanam was his name, and he'd taught several squire classes on how to effectively use a shield against someone wielding a spear. "Squire," Ukanam called, waving Dimitri over. "Salvage what arrows you can and return them to those guarding the Wall. And then get a wheelbarrow from the guardhouse and drag this poor bastard over to Li Mauta." There was no question - that was an order, and the work of it his punishment for being even peripherally involved in this little mess.

The other knight just nodded, and turned back to Bolivar. "You," he grumbled, waving him to hold still, "should know that we don't look favorably on citizens throwing magic around. Wind isn't the worst, which is why you've only got the one arrow to worry about, but Reimancy is problematic in Syliras so I'd suggest you keep it to yourself in the future." He reached out and, with a surprisingly gentle touch, snapped the head off the arrow that was sticking out of his shoulder. "Hold still." It was the only warning he got before the knight yanked the arrow out of the back of his shoulder, though the older knight had a lot of experience with such things and managed it without doing any further damage to him, just one clean pull. Red blood splashed out of the wound, but not nearly enough to denote anything serious.

The arrow was dropped to the ground and the knight pulled a rag out of his belt and pressed it against Bolivar's shoulder. "Hold it there, should stop the bleeding. You'll probably need some stitches." And that, it seemed, was that. Whatever costs he had to pay for healing was likely the price for his transgressions. Well, that and the blood.

He gave a nod to Dimitri, and then tilted his head to Ukanam, who closed the distance to join his partner. "Stay out of trouble, boys," the knight said, and they began to make their way back to the Gate.
