Home of the Konti people, this ivory city is built of native konti stone half in and half out of the sea. Its borders touch the Silverwood, and stretch upwards towards Silver Lake, home of the infamous konti vision water. [Lore]

Quelen listened politely and nodded her head as Blythe did her best to answer her questions. Divination certainly sounded like a very interesting, if maybe a little confusing gift to have. Quelen wasn't even sure if she could imagine what it would be like to have such visions. She wanted to know more, specifically to hear some examples from Blythe, but she didn't want to appear rude or prying.

Blythe's answer about the stones was certainly understandable, and Quelen felt a little silly about asking. If the stones were a mystery, then how much could Blythe know about them? She noticed Blythe looking her over, she had seen that look before, and smiled at the Konti, "Are you curious about how I lost my hand? I do not mind sharing the story, if you wish."

Quelen gave a little laugh at Blythe's question, "No, there is no reason for any of you to fear me. I have no knowledge of any weapons or ways of fighting, and while I might be able to annoy with my singing I would certainly not dream of doing so."

Following Blythe through the doorway Quelen looked about the room with wide eyes. She'd never seen people training with weapons before, and was surprised to see that some of what they were doing almost looked like dancing. Their movements were a little harsh as their weapons connected, and certainly not long enough to constitute a full dance, but without the Suvai in their hands Quelen imagined it would look like a school of dance rather than weapons.

"Are all ways of fighting like this?" Quelen asked softly, not wanting to be too loud and disturb those who were practicing, "With how they move and flow, it's almost like they are doing an aggressive dance."

OOCSURPRISE
There were all kinds of people practicing in the pavilion today. Many were indeed Konti women…Well to be honest 99.9% of them were Konti women. But one of them was not. One of them stuck out like a sore thumb on a far mat. He was apart from the rest of the class and there was one of the more well versed students standing beside him. They were going through the motions of the suvai together. Well it was more like the Konti women beside him was teaching and Serrif was just trying to follow the motions. Seemed he hadn’t gotten there too long ago. It was almost comical to watch really. The konti woman’s movements were purposeful and elegant. And Serrif was doing his best to move with her, they were moving slow right now just trying to get it all down. Like an elegant dance of sorts. But Serrif’s movements were jagged and rough; but comparatively he was a large man not an elegant Konti woman. He was indeed trying though.

As the pair watched Serrif did indeed get better by the moment. Seeming to take on whatever instruction was given to him. The Konti would every now and then correct his form and move an arm or something . Which was again comical to watch because comparatively she was so small to him. Serrif would nod and then they would go through the motions again. They moved together elegantly but Serrif wasn’t as smooth as she was. He envied her for that. Her movements were fluid and nearly perfect. Something he could see himself building up to if he had the time. But this could turn into only being a onetime thing. And he honestly didn’t have a whole lot of time in his schedule right now. As he moved about his eye caught Blythe and he gave her a slight nod as he continued to concentrate…But who was this? She was with someone. Someone he hadn’t seen before. Actually a race he hadn’t seen before. He diverted his attention back to the training at hand. Moving and mirroring the Konti woman next to him.

After a few more minutes she giggled and then nodded. “Well a few more times and you may actually have this down.”

“That’s doubtful, down is a matter of opinion. Thank you for your time though.”

“No problem come back whenever you want more.” She said as she smiled then went back to another partner and began training with her.

Serrif however had other things to tend to. It was noted that he didn’t have a pack today. Indicating that Ildin hadn’t packed a heavy load for him. Instead did she instruct him to take suvai lessons? Odd but well training with that woman seemed to be strange all the time. He approached the two women and smiled when he saw that he had indeed saw Blythe.

“Good afternoon Blythe. And who is this new friend of yours. I do believe we have never met.” He said with a smile to the Charoda woman. “I’m Serrif.”

"You don't have to share the story," Blythe whispered. "Surely it is a painful memory that need not be revisited." There was a slight pause, "some of the fighting is like this, although some of it is not. It simply depends on the weapon," she whispered, as her eyes followed the only man in the room. Ser? Now what is he doing in a class filled with practitioners of the suvai? Blythe wondered, as he walked over to them. "Hello Serrif," Blythe whispered. She gestured towards Quelen with her right hand, "this is Quelen, she is new to the Island, and just wanted to have a bit of a look around. She's interested in learning more about dance while she is here," Blythe explained, feeling a little strange about introducing someone she had just met, as though Quelen were incapable of introducing herself.

Blythe took a couple of steps back and away from the door, so that both Serrif and Quelen could leave the pavilion if they wanted to. "We can visit the inn now Quelen, if you'd like, or we can part ways here and you can explore the area on your own time." There was a slight pause. "Serrif, you're welcome to come along if you'd like, surely Quelen, you wouldn't mind having a bit more company on our little excursion around the Island." There was a slight pause. "You may even feel a little better around someone else who isn't a Konti." Blythe laughed but only slightly. She had turned around, and begun walking toward the balk. Within a few strides, she had reached it, and was beginning to walk across.

"The inn shouldn't be too long a walk from here, if that is where you want to go next," Blythe called over her shoulder, not bothering to look back. She simply hoped the Charoda would follow, and Serrif too, if he wanted. If not, she could always head back home, she should probably do that soon anyway. Keyta would probably start getting hungry again right about now. Or at least, in the next few minutes if not right now.

Quelen gave a little shrug at Blythe's reply to her offer, "It's not that painful. I was young and careless. There isn't anything to be done, and while I would prefer to have both hands there is no point in dwelling on it," she whispered as she watched the tall man who had been sparring with the Konti walk towards them.

"And music," Quelen quietly added to Blythe's introduction with a smile, "It's a pleasure to meet you Serrif," she said as she offered her right hand like Blythe had done when they first met.

"I'm enjoying traveling with you Blythe, and while I wouldn't mind if Serrif came as well I don't have a problem being around Konti. In a way your kind seem somewhat like the Charodae," Quelen said softly to Blythe as she offered smiles to both the Konti and Serrif

Moving after Blythe as she left the building Quelen cast a quick glance back to see if Serrif was coming before replying, "The Inn sounds lovely. Thank you for showing me these places Blythe."

Quelen was quite happy she had been lucky to meet such a kind person so soon after arriving at Mura. Hopefully it was a good sign that her time here would go well.

Serrif would indeed follow. Things were going well like he had expected. This new woman was indeed interesting. He would shake her hand and nod. “Pleasure.”

He followed Blythe to wherever she was going. Seemed she was going to lead them to the inn. That was where she said she was going. Well at the least he would find out where the inn was today. That was one of the many places he was somewhat curious about. He was getting somewhat tired of living in his tent. Yet there was a sort of serenity to it. Something that put him at one with the universe….or something like that. He just liked the feeling of the sound of the waves and the breeze. The cool ocean breeze at night was indeed something that he couldn’t really experience inland. He liked to sleep cold…his body was naturally warmer than most. Another thing he never really understood. But again there was plenty that he had no idea about in this world.

Again he looked to Quelen. “I have never met one of your race of you do not mind me asking. What race are you and where do you hail from? What is it like where you live?”

He asked curious about the newcomer. He didn’t even notice her lack of a limb. He didn’t care. He was somewhat fascinated with her in a way. He hadn’t really met anyone outside the human race... well besides the Konti. Which was interesting to both him and well many others he was sure. Even more interesting was how he seemed to be going about this life all new. He knew some things to be sure. His survival instincts were all still there. Yet some of his other memories were all gone. Again something he would eventually have to figure out…or did he even want to? He debated this quietly as he waited for Quelen to answer him.

Blythe walked back across the balk, and then stepped down on the other side. She walked around the edge of the lake, as a pale grey mist swirled around her, at times, seeming to hide her entirely. "You're welcome," she finally called over her shoulder to Quelen. Truly, she didn't mind showing the Charoda around. It made sure she was sociable and got out of the house for more than a few hours out of the day.

Blythe followed the winding path that led to the center of the city. From there, she headed west, knowing that eventually, she'd run into the inn. "Now the inn is run by three sisters, triplets actually," Blythe explained, in order to help break the silence that surrounded them more than anything else. "Their names are Acil, Eceli, and Ciela. They all sing, although only Acil and Ciela dance," she explained. The company was passing over a series of long, green blades of grass, that would fall beneath their feet after every step.

"So not only does the inn provide lodging, but to an extent, it provides entertainment. They also serve food and drink," Blythe added, as they walked along for another few minutes. After a while, the travelers happened upon a domed building. There were a few towers littered around the sides, and the stone it was made of glistened a pale white. Although from time to time, it did appear as though it had turned a light brown; stained with dirt. "This is the Pearl Divers Inn," Blythe explained, before looking up at the sky. The sun was getting high, and she knew it was about time she get back to Keyta and the rest of her family. "Unfortunately, it is getting a little late, and I am needed back home." Blythe gave a small nod. "It was lovely meeting you though Quelen, and lovely to see you again Ser," Blythe added. "But I really must be off, feel free to explore on your own though, the inn really is lovely." With that, Blythe turned around and set off towards home.

Quelen gave a soft musical laugh at Serrif's question, "I don't mind at all, as I could say the same for you. You're human, right? I'm a Charoda, and I'm from Charbosi. It's a beautiful city of living coral very far from here," she glanced over Serrif briefly, wondering if he had any scales like Blythe, "I think it would be too wet for you, as it's far into the ocean."

Quelen listened and nodded as Blythe explained about the inn. It sounded like a lovely place, and she was looking forward to when she visited it later. She was curious to see where the Konti would show her next, but then Blythe excused herself, "Same to you Blythe, thank you for showing me around," Quelen said with a polite smile and wave of her hand to the departing Konti.

Once Blythe was gone Quelen turned her attention back to Serrif, "Do you have somewhere to be as well, or would you mind talking some more?"

Serrif gave Blythe a polite nod and gesture as she left. She obviously had other places to be. He did as well but not until much later. This Charoda woman interested him. So he would stay and maybe chat with her. New things interested him, and well her comment made sense. Only a few days ago he had nearly drowned by simply falling into the lake. Granted he had a heavy pack on but that was really an excuse for what had happened more than a reason.

“No, I can stay if you like the company. A city in a reef…that’s actually quite fascinating. Do the buildings look similar to these here in Mura?” He asked as he walked over to a nearby bench and made a motion.

“Take a seat maybe?” He said as he smiled and waited for her to sit before him. If she didn’t neither would he. He didn’t want to come across as uninterested or anything, especially rude.

“I wonder what is it like to breathe under the water. To be able to really explore a whole new realm of existence.” He said more of a thought that escaped his mind then an actual question. That was actually something he was asking himself more and more these days because of his recent incident…if only he could breathe in the water…That would be a skill worth having

"They're very different, but somewhat the same," Quelen said with a smile as she moved over and took a seat as Serrif suggested, "I've seen many decorations on the buildings here that are similar to what you might see in Charbosi, but the building themselves are very different."

Gesturing with her hand at a nearby building she then traced a square in the air, "Here, many of the buildings are very straight and solid. In their shape, and also in the shape of their parts, like doors and windows," she then gestured to the nearby Inn, "Or if they are not straight they are a circle, smooth but precise."

Then tracing a much more abstract shape in the air she continued with a fond tone in her voice, "In Charbosi, our buildings are made of living coral that we shape to our needs and desires. There are no real straight lines, and curves are wide and varied, but there are some circles. Many of the other things that are common in landwalker cities, like streets or glass windows, just do not exist. They is no need for them, and even things like roofs are only needed if you desire privacy."

When Serrif spoke of wondering what it was like to breath underwater Quelen gave a soft, musical, laugh as she smiled at him, "I've wondered a similar thing, but of your realm. Though I can walk on land and breath out of the water, I can't go long without returning to the water. I wonder what it is like to go days without seeing water, of what the great mountains and vast deserts much look like."

A thought struck her then, and she tilted her head slightly as she spoke, "I've heard of a way for a landwalker to breath in the water, at least for a time," she smiled at Serrif, "I would be happy to help you try if you wish to see."

Her answers brought vivid images to his mind. He thought on all kinds of things that she was talking about. But again it was all things he could really never picture fully without actually seeing them. He tried though. His mind wasn’t all that vivid but he tried to think everything up in his mind. She talked about how the buildings were shaped and how they were similar to what was here on land. He thought about how foreign everything on the surface had to be to her. How odd everything had to seem in comparison to what she was used to under the water. It fascinated him hoe dependent she was on the water. Granted she could last longer above the water than he could under it.

“It intrigues me yes. But I would like to know what you are talking of before I commit myself to any more possible underwater mishaps. The water has nearly claimed my life once.”
He said as he looked to her trying to inquire more about what she was speaking of.
