Spring 1, 504 AV Aello stumbled down the large white steps that led into the University of Zeltiva. The tiny muscles in her temples seemed to twitch, as the golden colored rays of the sun wrapped themselves around her pale visage, causing her skin, and the ash brown hair that curled into her cheeks to glow. Her eyes seemed distant- her pupils had dilated hours ago, and the edges of her vision were a little blurry. The corners of her mind- the areas around her ears ached, and she couldn't help but feel more than a little tired. "Man that guy gives your mind a work out," Aello muttered as she stumbled down the last step. Her mind was still rattling off all the information she had picked up in her auristics class. There are seven layers in an aura. The inner most layer of the aura is called the physical auric body. It is the human body itself, or at least appears to be... and is associated with physical sensations. The next layer out on the physical plane is the etheric auric body it is associated with one's emotions and self-respect. After that comes the vital auric body, which has to do with one's rational mind. The only layer on the astral plane is the astral, or emotional body. (What a surprise). It has to do with one's relationship with other human beings. The inner most layer of the spiritual plane is the etheric template, (lower mental auric body), which has to do with one's divine will. Then the celestial body, or higher mental auric body, which has to do with divine love, and spiritual ecstasy. Finally, the outer most layer is the casual body, or intuitive body, which has to do with the divine mind. The inner most layer is the one that almost never changes. The outer most ones, change more often. Especially the intuitive body, which is the only one which a novice such as myself can actually see. Aello sighed, she wished she was better at auristics, and not the worst one in her class. But then again, that was to be expected considering she was not only the youngest student her professor had taken on, but the newest addition to the class as well. Which only meant that her professor wanted her to practice the most, so she could catch up; make up for lost time. Aello didn't mind this, although, it did really tire her out. Peering at all of your classmate's auras one after the other and describing to the best of her ability the strange colored mist that she could actually see, was a daunting task. Of course, it was simple enough, considering all she had to do was describe what she saw. But it was difficult for that very reason: because Aello didn't yet know how to interpret what she had seen. For example, she didn't know that a soft blue aura was not associated with sorrow, but with peacefulness and clarity. Nor did she know, during her interpretations of what she had seen, that a white aura reflected other energies, and wasn't associated with blankness or purity. Aello sighed, at least, now she knew. As Aello walked into the small grassy field that lay in front of the University, another wave of exhaustion washed over her. "Perhaps I should rest a bit before heading home," the girl whispered into the wind. When she had reached a small tuft of grass, the girl sat down, and crossed her legs. "Perhaps meditating would help get rid of this feeling. This exhaustion, and this bloody headache," the girl muttered as she closed her eyes and clutched her hair in her hands. The strands weaved through her pale fingers, tickling her skin. Her head was throbbing. She had tried to hard, and hadn't given herself enough of a break. "Professor always mentions the benefits of meditation," the girl said, as she dropped her hands from her hair and placed them on her knees, palms facing up towards the sky. Aello assumed the lotus position. Her back was straight, her eyes remained closed, although now, they were shut lightly, and not clenched. She began to breath slowly in through the nose, and out through the mouth, willing herself to relax enough to meditate. Resources :
