I'm not sure.
When trying to connect my new desktop to the wireless at home (I used a Wireless adapter) my computer had a message that said something along the lines of "This network is not set up. Would you like to set it up?" At first I just connected without setting it up, but my connection was 'Local Only', and I was of course trying to get onto the internet. After this I tried to set up, which is where everything went to hell.
First thing that happened was that nothing could get on the wireless, not even the main computer that had both the internet modem and wireless router plugged into it. I was able to get connection on the main computer if I disconnected the wireless router, but that meant that the laptop I used to use couldn't connect anymore.
So yeah, it gets fuzzy but with several hours of cursing and tinkering with everything, I somehow managed to ruin the entire connection even to my main computer when only the modem was connected. I tried resetting the router, getting a new one and trying it, but that only managed to restore my main computer's wired connection, wireless is still down.
I don't know if any tech masters are out there and know exactly what I'm probably poorly describing or not, but if you can help, I will love you forever and ever.
Bad News Everybody. School is picking up, Exams are beginning to happen, homework is growing time consuming, I may soon be evicted from my apartment, I'm dealing with severe and physical fights among several of my best friends, and I can't seem to find a time to get much needed sleep. I'm terribly sorry, but don't expect to see much of me for a long while. |
