The Squire, the Bard, and the Scholar (Ceos, Dasthar)

Dasthar watches as his table companion leaves and he shrugs as he puts the flute away slowly after his final song and he smiles as he looks to everyone and points to one of the patron's and asks him to give him a story to tell and as he hears the name of the story he looks confused. The man speaks a few words and Dasthar nods to him.

"That will do just fine sir." Dasthar smiles and then takes on a slightly different expression his eyes closing then reopening and he looks at everyone and gives the proper expression then starts to tell the story in a very vibrant voice resonating with power.

The Squire, the Bard, and the Scholar (Ceos, Dasthar)

Postby Jaelyn Baroth on April 25th, 2011, 11:36 pm

After some time Jaelyn finished her prayer to Lord Tyveth, but she remained seated in the pew, her head bowed and eyes closed. It was nice to take a moment in the quite of the Temple, to not worry about anything other than sitting there and breathing. She had been working hard in her training since her birthday earlier this season, and, while she still had a ways to go, Raynard liked to remind her that pushing herself to exhaustion would do no one any good.

She couldn't sit still for too long though, there was always something more to be done, and so she stood up with a deep breath. After one last long look over the subtle beauty of the Temple she turned and made her way out through the large doors.

Once back outside Jaelyn took a moment to blink and adjust her eyes back to the light. As she grew accustomed to Syna's glow once more she found herself looking at an Isur coming her direction. Giving the short man a faint smile she nodded a greeting, "Good day to you sir."

Ceos was clearly headed the wrong way in this maze of corridors but...something pushed him to go even further. Not sure if the Lord of Patience was being responsible or if it was of sheer intuition, The Isur continued to walk the now deserted paths of this section of the castle.

His steps led him to a garden, with an intricately designed mosaic walkway representing what seemed like an oak, stretching it's branches to the flowers around. What a perfect place for meditation. Eyes up and he found himself facing a young woman, probably coming from the double-door behind her. He shortened the distance separating them, responding to her nodding by his own, an almost imperceptible one.

<<I am looking for the Ironworks...but I was...drawn here somehow.>>
Was it so easy to speak with people? That girl, a servant probably, looked
like she could help him get his way around the place...

The Isur's short bit of words mildly surprised Jaelyn, but she kept the soft smile on her lips. She'd heard that Isur tended to be short and curt, but it wasn't considered rude amongst them. Thinking on what he had said, about where he was looking for and how he had come here, she quirked an eyebrow slightly as she spoke, "The Ironworks are over in Winthrop Alley, but perhaps you were drawn here because of the Temple?" she gestured to the large double doors she had just recently exited, "Isur worship the God... Izurdin, correct? Any and all are welcome to worship at the Temple, as long as they do so respectfully and break no laws."

She was a bit curious of this Isur, but figured it wasn't best to ask many questions just yet. With what she had heard of Isur from others it would be best to wait until he offered any information on his own.

The Squire, the Bard, and the Scholar (Ceos, Dasthar)

Postby Dasthar on April 26th, 2011, 6:36 pm

Dasthar was slowly running out of material to tell as his list of stories was not that magnificent in its entirety. He finally stood and pulled out two juggling spheres and did what he could to keep them in the air and from falling each time he started to throw them. He had not been very good at this specific task either when it came to being in his specific line of work but it had never been all that important either. He had studied mostly on the musical instrument instead of anything else because it had seemed music was a much better way to make people happy and see what he might do about certain aspects of the world that affected him. In a tavern as long as he did well and kept people happy then he was well off and happy if he did poorly well.... it seemed that it would always end in a way that was unpleasant.

Something was different with this new face. No judging looks nor the usual uneasiness of the townsfolk at his sight showed in her eyes, only that warm smile.
Another look at her made him realize how young she was. Not even an adult, on human standards, yet not a child.

Still, an aura of wisdom surrounded this young existence. Then, mention of Izurdin focused his attention back on her response...''are welcome to worship at the Temple, as long as they do so respectfully and break no laws."

<<You...seem to know well of Izurdin's Children. That is more than most of the people I've crossed on my way here.>>Ceos replied, his caution replaced by a growing curiosity. She doesn't seem to be a threat...I guess.

"It is not that I know much of the Isur," Jaelyn said with a faint shake of her head, "More that I know of the Divine. There are many wonderful people who come to worship at the Temple of All Gods, and they have taught me many things."

Stepping towards the man she offered her right hand with a soft smile, "I am Jaelyn Baroth, Squire in training under Ser Raynard Darcy. You said you were looking for the Ironworks? If you would like I would be happy to guide you there."

She was a little curious about this man, and of the Isur people, and so hoped he would take her up on the offer. Hopefully as they walked she would have the chance to learn more of him and his people.

A squire, hmm? ''Pardon my mistake, miss.'' My name is Lyceos, of the Vizerian.'' Careful...''My business at the Ironworks can wait until later. I would rather have a visit of the temple grounds.''

It was a perfect timing to go and pay respect to the gods in this temple he would have came to, sooner or later. What kind of worshipping could Izurdin possibly have outside Kalea? One should wait and see. Isn't this your own saying,...Lord? He gazed at the marble Oak one more time, smiled, and walked toward the large doors from before, passing by his guide and into the room plunged in shadows...

Finally tiring of telling stories and playing music Dasthar steps off the stage area and goes to sit at the table and relaxes waiting to see what happens. His day had been very long and exciting for his first time telling stories and more within the city.

Jaelyn paused a moment as Lyceos walked past her to the Temple. For a moment she hesitated, wondering if the lack of an invitation meant it would be rude to follow, but in the end she turned and followed the man. He would still need a guide to the Ironworks.

Following Lyceos back through the Temple doors Jaelyn smiled softly at the pleasant atmosphere that seemed to always fill the softly illuminated rows of pews. Her gaze wandered over the stained glass windows through which filtered the light from outside. They were one of her favorite sights in the city. Windows were not terribly common, and these one were just beautiful when lit like they were currently.

Quietly she stood near Lyceos, waiting to hear if he had any questions or comments. He was the one who wanted to visit the Temple, and she still wanted to be sure to not prove overbearing to this foreign visitor to Syliras.
