Kavala smiled. "If you boil them and add a few other things in, they make glue." She offered the answer to Fade's question quite bluntly. Glue was always in demand in Riverfall and especially for the craftsman and women in the markets. She'd be able to trade it for medicine or actually mix medicine into it to form a poultice that would stick to the skin easily.
Always thinking, Kavala had to be resourceful to keep Sanctuary running and everyone fed.
And sane it seemed. Kavala's senses were suddenly flooded with what Descant was feeling. She immediately stopped her approach towards him and instead sat down on the ground, her back to him. "Fade, sit down, back towards him. Don't look at him. Let him eat through the pile we left. Let him have his heart and the offal. It will ease his mind. He's still in predator and survival mode. He needs to hunt, to feast, and to calm down a bit." Kavala kept her voice soothing, and gave Descant her open vulnerable non-threatening back.
"He feels we'll take his food. Starve him. His instincts tell him to eat as fast as possible and fight anyone that comes near enough to threaten his survival by taking his food. Don't even look at him until he's done eating. He needs to learn we won't take it away from him." Kavala said softly, reassuringly.
