The man had been advancing towards Vhanet in anger, his movements starting to become a little unsteady from the poison in his blood, when Nasilia came dashing up. He attempted to defend himself, but surprise and the poison in his blood made his dodge clumsy. Nasilia's fangs found their mark, and the man cried out in pain as Nasilia tasted his blood.
The combination of Nasilia's venom and Vhanet's poison was too much for the man's body, and a few moments after Nasilia's bite the man's muscles went lax and he collapsed to the ground. Staring up at Nasilia, confusion plain on his face as she apologized, he softly asked, "Why?..."
"Becaussse," Vhanet panted out as she crawled over to the fallen man, "Ssshe isss more my friend than you ever were Vatak," and with that Vhanet sunk her spring mounted blade into the man's throat, cutting off any further words in a wet gurgle.
Vhanet watched with a hidden glee as the light of life left the man's eyes, and then she turned and then she quickly turned away, as if horrified, and sat down on the grass a short distance away. Holding up her bloody little blade she stared at it, letting her body shudder with the enjoyment of a fresh kill.
"I am sssorry," she said after a few moments, her voice trembling as if on the edge of tears, "That I had to involve you in that Nasssilia," bowing her head she rubbed at her eyes with her unbloodied hand, subtly poking her fingernails against her eyes to draw out some tears, "I didn't want you to have to do that..." she let out a soft sob as the water from her eyes started to trail down her cheeks.
