Home of the Konti people, this ivory city is built of native konti stone half in and half out of the sea. Its borders touch the Silverwood, and stretch upwards towards Silver Lake, home of the infamous konti vision water. [Lore]

Quelen tilted her head back and forth as she thought over what Serrif had said, "So fate... is the rest of the world? The things that just seem to happen?" Quelen smiled pleasantly at the landwalker next to her, "Then it was fate that allowed us to meet each other like this, right?"

Quelen's feet had started to take up a rhythmic pattern as they swished back and forth through the grass, and after a moment she hopped up from the bench and started to bounce lightly on her feet, "I think I understand a bit better now. Like with my arm," she gestured with the stump of her left arm, "At first I was sad and lost without it, because I couldn't play the harp anymore, but eventually I accepted what had happened, and learned I could still play the harp a little. Not as much as I used to, but better than nothing."

Through with bouncing Quelen began to do a little prancing pacing in front of Serrif. She would take two steps, skip, and then do a quick twirl to repeat the steps in the opposite direction. The entire time she kept her smiling face looking at Serrif, eagerly awaiting his words.

“I would imagine fate had something to do with us meeting each other and with your arm as well. Sometimes things just happen. We don’t really have a control over them. But sometimes we do indirectly or directly.” He stood and hen picked up a stone off the cobblestone path.

“If I take this rock and discard it..” He tossed the rock into the air gently nearly straight up. “ then I am directly responsible for it being discarded aren’t i?” He then stepped forward and extended his hand.

“Now if I planned it or not," The rock fell down back into his hand, “the rock has found itself again in my hand if I meant for it to end up there or not. Now fate is like this as well I believe. Sometimes if we plan things or not they just happen. Sometimes the rock will land in our hand and sometimes it will not. And other times it will strike and kill a bird possibly. The real paradigm is what will happen when we discard the rock and start into play a series of events even if we meant to or not. And then how will these events come back around to affect us later; directly or indirectly.”

Quelen paused in her prancing and turned to face Serrif with her head tilted slightly to the side as he explained his thoughts. It was certainly an interesting way to explain what he was talking about, and at the end she smiled and nodded.

"You should be a philosopher Serrif, you seem to think about the world a lot," Quelen said brightly, intending her words as a compliment, "I'd certainly never thought of the world like that before, but it makes sense when you explained it just now. Thank you for sharing."

Giving a musical laugh as she took a few twirling steps, her arms only slightly out from her sides to make sure she didn't accidentally hit Serrif, Quelen added, "In that way of thinking, I guess I'm the type to trust my life to fate a lot then. Aside from coming on this journey there hasn't been much I've planned for, and I've dealt a lot with other things that have come up."

Serrif laughed at the thought of being a philosopher. It was an interesting concept; he did think about the world a lot. And about the strangest things as well. But sometimes all you could do is think about what was and try to reason with the past. Truth be he was trying to find a reason for why his past had happened to him. But in the end he believed it came down to fate. Fate had done this to him, that was all he could believe. He had no memories that told him otherwise. But again that didn’t mean that he didn’t have a reason for setting what had happened to him in motion. But again he still didn’t know his life before that camp.

“Perhaps, but philosophy seems to be an idle hobby of mine. Something I do when I am doing nothing else.” He pondered things all the time for one reason or another. Seemed his mind was always active even when he wanted it to just be idle. And to keep himself sane he pondered things. Day, night all the time his mind was running thousands of miles an hour. And to bring it down and keep himself from feeling inpatient he thought about things.

“We all trust much to fate even if we don’t realize it. None can plan for everything and keep a sane mind I would imagine.”

"I suppose that's true," Quelen said after a moment of thought, her head tilted to the side, "I bet it would be impossible to plan for everything. I bet you didn't plan to spend a while chatting with a curious Charoda today, did you?"

Quelen gave a little laugh at her words, but as she did her voice cracked slightly, and she gave a little surprised cough, "Ah... I think I need to return to the water," she gave an apologetic smile to Serrif, "Could you show me to somewhere where I may get wet again?"

She'd been having so much fun talking with Serrif and Blythe that she hadn't even noticed the toll being out of the water was starting to take on her body. She was starting to feel all... it was a hard feeling to describe. She supposed this was what it was to be dry.

“I didn’t think I would spend my time talking with a Charoda ever.”
He said with a smile as he seemingly laughed some.

He hadn’t ever encountered a Charoda before. He was still finding everything out after escaping. It seemed he remembered some things and not other things. His combined experience was spotty before the camp. He didn’t remember much and the fact that he somehow ended up here on the Isle was still a mystery to him. He didn’t come here on purpose; but again fate was indeed awe inspiring in the way it worked.

“Ah yes the water. There is a freshwater source back near the suvai pavilion where we first met. There are reefs and everything there too I believe. I don’t know I’ve never gone swimming in it like you or the Konti can.” He stood and then stretched his legs a little.

“Come I will take you there.” He smiled and then when she looked like she was ready he would lead the way.

“It has been nice talking to you Quelen.” He said as the approached the bank of the water. It was a massive lake laid out before them. The same lake she had been fascinated with earlier.

“Well I bid you farewell for now. Mayhaps we will meet again soon.”

Quelen tilted her head quizzically as Serrif spoke of freshwater, but after a moment she realized that he must be talking about water that was not still. She'd heard about water that got stuck on the land, and that it would go bad. It was good that the water near Mura didn't have that problem.

As Serrif led the way back to the water Quelen pranced her way along after him. Skipping, twirling, hoping, sliding, and performing other little shows of dexterity and agility as she moved along the street. She was happy, and with her throat dry her only way to express it was with dance currently. Mura was a delightful place. She was glad she had come here first.

When the returned to the lake Quelen gave a nod and a smile to Serrif, and then ran and dove into the water. Taking a deep breath of the water Quelen felt the cool soothing of it against her dry throat, and she popped back above the surface to wave and call out to Serrif, "It was nice to talk to you too Serrif! Take care, and I hope fate treats you well!"

Smiling she fell back into the water, glad to feel its embrace once again. The land was a fascinating place, everywhere seemed full of interesting things, but Quelen couldn't live without the water. Maybe some day she would find a way to stay longer on land, but for now she was happy to start exploring this clear lake that seemed to have swallowed half of Mura.
