Dimitri sat upon the end of the docks, fishing pole in hand, contemplating what he knew of himself, waiting for something. He didn't know what just that he had to wait. He watched his bobber drift lazily as the water began turning gold as the sun sunk into the sea. He doubted he would get a fish today but he still felt like trying. He recalled why his master sent him here.
Dimitri woke up to find a note covering his face. Master Adamal is really lazy sometimes. He grabbed it, cracked the seal and opened it.
To Squire Dimitri,
Today your training will turn inward. In order to grow one must know himself, his limitations, his ability to break his limits. So today you will do as such, with the unknowing help of another.
Within the walls of protection, you must find one who sees history and future as well as you see this note.
This one is often reknowned, not personally, but for what this one is.
This one lives a life among man, living and dead, and yet if one chose, could live among the fishes that populate where you will find this one.
To find this one, sit on crates, three high, at the time the sun lays down to rest.
Ser Adamal Brinkaas.
Dimitri sighed at the thought of the riddle, he only figured out the last one by chance. From the first line he knew he needed to find some sort of seer or fortuneteller. He had no idea about the second line, held in respect for what, not who they are? Third line was most helpful. He was looking for a waterbreather, either Charoda or Konti. Then the second line made sense. Konti are held in high esteem in Syliras. He smiled wondering why this was so easy. She lives among men dead and alive... She could be a doctor... Ghost worker... Li Mauta worker... Wait. Li Mauta! Li Mauta was near the docks where fishes live. He quickly made his way to the docks. He hoped this was right. He stacked up three crates and then went to the edge to wait and fish, hoping the Konti was as nice as they came.
Back in the present, Dimitri gave up fishing and stowed his gear. He walked up to the three crates and leapt atop them, thankful they weren't empty less he should topple over. As the sun went down, Dimitri faced the walkway to Li Mauta, the golden rays of the sun making him appear angelic and emperial.
