Physical Description


Zephyril's face has naturally rounded features that help hide the fact that upon closer inspection, he is vastly underweight. His black hair is mid length, cut just above his eyes and at his neck. His pale skin and black tongue along with the bags under his black eyes are all prominent features hinting that he is indeed a Nuit rather than the human he is occupying.

He wears a white collared shirt with sleeves that rolls up to his elbows and a simple dark grey vest over it. His trousers match the color of his vest, and at his feet are leather shoes with comfortable thin soles. Around his neck is a silver pendant with a tribal swirling design, not unlike a simple depiction of fire.


Character Concept

Zephyril has been alive since only a few years before the Valterrian, and over the years began to relinquish ambitions such as striving for the return of civilization and confronting that which is ethically unsound. The mortality rate in Mizahar is through the roof, and it didn’t take long for Zephyril to become painstakingly aware of that fact. Despite his many years spent as a Nuit, he clings as dearly to life as he did centuries ago. With a strong penchant for avoiding conflict, he has on repeated occasions been called a coward, though he prefers to see his actions as a form of tactical retreat.

Zephyril sees change as the only thing that keeps him motivated to stay alive. As such, he’s known for his mood swings and likes to take on what he calls “pet projects”. Depending completely on his mood, he indulges in various activities that may interest him at the moment. Like other Nuit, he is solitary in the sense that he avoids becoming emotionally attached to those around him, but should not be mistaken for a loner. Relying heavily on first impressions, sometimes he can decide to offer his help to someone who arouses his curiosity. Similarly, he can decide to go about trying to crush the life of someone he might hate.

Romantically, Zephyril is very forward does not hide his desire towards women. He will not deny his physical attraction to men when occupying a woman’s body, but his sexuality has always veered towards women even when in a female vessel. He has always been attracted to visual beauty, and when choosing a vessel he always looks for the more charming body.

Character History



Pre-Nuit :
His life before he became a Nuit still bears a great influence on him, even after 200 years of life. He used to live in Falyndar as a Kelvic black bear, one who bonded at adolescence to Benshiran Human. The man fed the bear after a startling encounter while he was in bear form, where he tried to toss his dinner at him in attempt to avoid being eaten himself. Zephyril, on the other hand, took it as an act of kindness, shape-shifting back into human form to converse with the man. Zephyril learned more about the man's history shortly after bonding with him.

The man's name was Malven, and grew up most of his life in the great city of Ahnatep. As a child, he dabbled in the art of magic and quickly became obsessed, always wanting to push the limit of his abilities. As an adult he returned to his home in Yahebah, where the people there were wary of the magic he had learned. He made many enemies during his stay there, almost the complete opposite of benshiran psychology with his controversial ways. He finally pushed the limit of his acceptance by murdering a woman in cold blood, purposefully in a manipulative and cruel way so she would return as a ghost, wherein he could further his research on Spiritism.

It didn't take long for the people to discover his crime and chase him out of the city, who luckily ran towards the ocean, where he boarded a boat and narrowly escaped to Falyndar. It was there that he met Zephyril, and upon learning that he was a Kelvic, saw this as in opportunity for various reasons. The Kelvic's abilities would make him a great research subject, and even as a bodyguard. He knew about the bonding traits of the race, rejoiced that if he successfully bonded with him, Zephyril would never question his actions. He acted as a kind, humble benshiran to the animal until the bond had finally been formed. Together, they lived on Black Rock for a few years while Malven immersed himself in Reimancy, using Zephyril as an assistant.

Years passed in relative stability and Malven moved out of Falyndar to study in isolation a little ways out in Cyphrus, protecting himself from the dangers of the land with his powerful Reimancy skills and the protection of his Kelvic servant. Over the years he became obsessed in undead practices. He developed a dangerous interest towards the nature of Nuit, and one day had an epiphany that decided Zephyril's fate.

Curious about what would happen to the Kelvic's body should he undergo the undead transformation, Malven did not ponder the decision very long and immediately set to work on setting up the dangerous ritual. He contacted an old friend from Ahnatep who was more skilled in Animation than he, who accepted to come and humor Malven's plan. Zephyril even helped him with the preparation, unaware that he would in fact be the test subject for the madman's experiment. Without remorse, Malven proceeded with transforming his 'pet' into a Nuit in order to satiate his thirst for knowledge. After the ritual was completed successfully, it was to both their dismay that not only could Zephyril no longer transform, but that their bond had also broken. Malven thus imprisoned the former Kelvic so as to continue his research on Nuit, and Zephyril only managed to escape a year later.


About twenty years after growing accustomed to becoming a Nuit, Zephyril returned to Cyphrus for his first and last time only to successfully carry out his revenge on his creator. He lived in Sahova and remained bitter for a good portion of his life before the pain of his losses dulled out and became easier to swallow. At first, he concentrated on looking for solutions to strengthen his weak body. He was uncomfortable with his vulnerability, and turned to magic to compensate for his physical weakness.

Zephyril refused to learn Reimancy, and decided to grasp some basics of Flux to at least speed up his sluggish movement and better defend himself. He concentrated on improving his skills in Sahova, and tried to switch mainly between human bodies of as similar structure as possible so his skills in Flux would not degrade. Eventually, as he grew used to his overall nature and less obsessed with protecting himself, he became less picky with choosing bodies and no longer as adamant on fighting skills.

After about 130 years, Zephyril moved from Sahova to Sunberth as he didn't enjoy the company of his fellow Nuit for a good list of reasons. He learned to start enjoying his life again with a new-found love for gambling, alcohol, and sex. Just like his neighbors, he wanted to get away from the system of hierarchy in which most of Mizahar functioned (at least temporarily), and the residents slowly learned to accept him over years despite his controversial race. He didn't enjoy the general violence of the place, but managed to survive without attracting unwanted attention.

It was after another 60 years that Zephyril moved again, after hearing enough rumors about the nature of Lhavit. He had been hesitant since the city was across the entire continent, but he was growing tired of the violent tendencies of Sunberth and Lhavit sounded like a dream home to him. Without too much afterthought, he embarked on the journey, taking his time and indulging in the safest routes possible, in no rush to encounter the dangers of wilderness travel. With only a few bumps along the road he finally reached the city, and it did not fail to reach his high expectations. Mesmerized by the beauty, he did not hesitate to settle in and make it his new home, and continued his residence for 6 years to present day.
