Instead of sending a mass PM...
Alright, the enthusiasm has completely bloated me up.
Let's clear things up for everyone. Here's the previous message I sent out, together with a number of tweaks.
1. This quest will occur towards the end of Spring 511AV, making this quest a "flashback" or "grandfathered" thread. Please cackle if the schedule conflicts with any time stamps.
2. I need everyone to know that Sahova will be attacked by golems, and therefore will have to sustain damage. By attack I mean like world war 2, minus the fighter jets. While there can be an injury or two, no one is supposed to die... Unless your PC acts incredibly stupid. The story will revolve around one particular premise: in Sahova, the apprentices are just cannon fodder. Not to say that you should be cannon fodder, since you drive your own fate.
3. You may ask, how can this be epic if you bunch me up with people I don't know?! Well, fret not. I have kept you all in mind, your known goals, and well, defending the castle is one way of proving yourself. While I will question your morality if you go batshit insane saying "I cannot kill poor Mr. Golem!!!!111", this will be more of a "tower defense" game - will you work with team members or not? If given the choice will you sacrifice your life for a 600 year old wall? Things like that. The main idea here, aside from apprentices being cannon fodder, is to put your character in a position where survival is the number one goal, for those staying in Sahova, it will affect how the other wizards look at you (both a good and bad thing). For transients, nothing says friendship with the Nuits than an alliance against enemies!
4. This Epic Quest is a Storyteller Mandatory Assignment. I had a few players in mind at first, but decided to just involve everyone in Sahova. This place is not the most active place in the whole wide world, and I would like to serve something up for those who are currently in the island. Come everyone, tag along!
5. There is at least one deity involved. It's a surprise who! The possibility of gaining a Gnosis mark is nil, but there will be divine gifts.
Not to say that I am not beyond adding some others. Feel free to invoke the names of your personal gods, if there are any. This might be a chance for you to prove your devotion. I am also willing to improve or unlock magical techniques, abilities, etc if you push yourself to the limit.
6. Each one of you will get a "backpack" to compensate for the lack or inadequacy in skill. I hope everyone enjoys being a show off, and bombing and killing stuff. The backpack will be given after the next round of posts.
7. Your starting position must be within the Citadel, maybe you are resting or doing an experiment, set a backdrop for your character. Challenge: introduce your character to the other players not by telling, but by showing what your character is, and how your character is embedded in Sahova. Then REMEMBER to roleplay the part that the earth trembled. To those underground it would feel like a "you aren't sure if it really happened" earthquake. Remember, in all likelihood, your PCs do not know each other and have been living in isolation (esp. the wizards), unless you would like to foreshadow some sort of relationship by starting in the same room...
As of last count these are the players involved:
Rayage - Nuit/Alchemist
Sanguine Black - Nuit/Summoner
Neuge - Nuit/ has 5 in Shielding ...
Amireh - Half Vantha/Voider
Irriari - Zith/ Poison Combat
Kamalia - Konti/Reimancer
Hunto - Myrian/ Combat
The magics are well represented. *sagely nod*
8.
9. Problems that arise due to the slowness of the thread (will it affect future threads dilemma) can be totally avoided by not mentioning Sahova at all, or at least being vague-like "it was a terrifying experience" or "i hate golems now" or "it was a life changing moment". Skills or items gained within this thread must not be used until the thread is properly awarded. You can hint at "I've been hiding magical artifact xxx, until now" or "I have tried to keep skill xxx a secret" if you find yourself in a position where you have to mysteriously "know" or "have" said item or skill in the future. (I hope that made sense)
10. Oh, and one more thing, there's no posting order. Please give me the discretion of posting anytime I want. You can also double post or triple post per round, as long as there's at least one person who posted after your last post. This will make things more interesting (and convenient) instead of All Players > Mod posting order. (Please make sense out of these words. Rofl.) Have lots of fun!
EDIT: Gais you can post nao.
