Hey everyone, I've been a bit inactive but that should change shortly ^.^

I suppose you'll all catch onto Amireh quickly once we start interacting, but she's not really all that difficult to get along with. She doesn't care what you are. Zith, Nuit, pile of goop, she just cares if she can use you or not >.>

I'm sho excited.

[Epic Quest Outtake] Karakuri

Postby Irriari on June 29th, 2011, 4:38 pm

Hello again everyone,

I just wanted to state something here so everyone was up to date with the timing of the quest (esp. the newcomers like Gunto)

Originally, when Panna sent out a call to arms for the Epic Quest she stated that the quest would be: "Schedule (Early spring 511 av, or as any of you are available)"

Now, in one of the more recent emails she said that: "This quest happened in the beginning of Summer 511 AV."

When I asked her about this, she responded with: "Oh drats... I will have to figure this one out. I will probably set this end of spring instead"

So, all in all, the quest will still be in Spring, just towards the later end of the season. I hope this clears it up for anyone who was wondering. This will also keep us free to pursue threads in the summer in other locations without having a big time conflict on our hands. (Unless Panna wants to generously share her time traveling abilities, which would make me VERY happy!)

Oh how we can but wish. I'm already incredibly excited about this set of events. It's going to be fun I can tell already. The idea of Golems going rampant is really similar to most of the dreams I've had writing about. Though I thought more: Utopian society.

Aaaanyway (Because that crap doesn't matter right now) the time schedule seems messed up. If it's occuring later in the season does that mean I can go around seeing if someone'll open up a thread to practice Alchemy/Animation with me?

With that belief system, Amireh, you and Neuge will get along just fine. :) Though Neuge isn't so compulsive I suppose. You'll all see soon enough.

I'd love to thread with you, Neuge, especially during the Summer, albeit I have to wait until my thread with our lovely Princess is over. At the end of it Amireh may or may not be a Nuit. Or have two arms. >.>

Well I do hope that Amireh can avoid losing more limbs than needed. Though when you're all finished up maybe we can organize something. I've read your character sheet and I'm actually quite intrigued.

Well, I have to say a late welcome to the Sahovan All-Stars all you new people. :) If the quest is going to happen late spring that is even better than it happening this summer. Opens up, as many of you already pointed out, lots of time for quality Threads here. Of course if threading with me Ill be careful not to even reference this epic journey that we are going on because it will make life a whole lot easier.

I see Pan Pan still hasnt mentioned anything about posting order... Guess that is good, but Im itching to get this quest going! Which I think is an itch we all share. So far we have an interesting little group here: A Zith who wields poisons, An manipulating witch with reimancy and projection, one bloodthirsty Myrian, a Nuit searching for his companion, and an Alchemist. How are they ever going to stop an army of golems?! (Especially if it IS going to be like WWII)

This epic tale is one yet unwritten, but highly anticipated and Im sure the first book will sale thousands :)

[Epic Quest Outtake] Karakuri

Postby Panna Cotta on June 30th, 2011, 5:13 am

Instead of sending a mass PM...

Alright, the enthusiasm has completely bloated me up.

Let's clear things up for everyone. Here's the previous message I sent out, together with a number of tweaks.

1. This quest will occur towards the end of Spring 511AV, making this quest a "flashback" or "grandfathered" thread. Please cackle if the schedule conflicts with any time stamps.
2. I need everyone to know that Sahova will be attacked by golems, and therefore will have to sustain damage. By attack I mean like world war 2, minus the fighter jets. While there can be an injury or two, no one is supposed to die... Unless your PC acts incredibly stupid. The story will revolve around one particular premise: in Sahova, the apprentices are just cannon fodder. Not to say that you should be cannon fodder, since you drive your own fate.
3. You may ask, how can this be epic if you bunch me up with people I don't know?! Well, fret not. I have kept you all in mind, your known goals, and well, defending the castle is one way of proving yourself. While I will question your morality if you go batshit insane saying "I cannot kill poor Mr. Golem!!!!111", this will be more of a "tower defense" game - will you work with team members or not? If given the choice will you sacrifice your life for a 600 year old wall? Things like that. The main idea here, aside from apprentices being cannon fodder, is to put your character in a position where survival is the number one goal, for those staying in Sahova, it will affect how the other wizards look at you (both a good and bad thing). For transients, nothing says friendship with the Nuits than an alliance against enemies!
4. This Epic Quest is a Storyteller Mandatory Assignment. I had a few players in mind at first, but decided to just involve everyone in Sahova. This place is not the most active place in the whole wide world, and I would like to serve something up for those who are currently in the island. Come everyone, tag along!
5. There is at least one deity involved. It's a surprise who! The possibility of gaining a Gnosis mark is nil, but there will be divine gifts. :D Not to say that I am not beyond adding some others. Feel free to invoke the names of your personal gods, if there are any. This might be a chance for you to prove your devotion. I am also willing to improve or unlock magical techniques, abilities, etc if you push yourself to the limit.
6. Each one of you will get a "backpack" to compensate for the lack or inadequacy in skill. I hope everyone enjoys being a show off, and bombing and killing stuff. The backpack will be given after the next round of posts.
7. Your starting position must be within the Citadel, maybe you are resting or doing an experiment, set a backdrop for your character. Challenge: introduce your character to the other players not by telling, but by showing what your character is, and how your character is embedded in Sahova. Then REMEMBER to roleplay the part that the earth trembled. To those underground it would feel like a "you aren't sure if it really happened" earthquake. Remember, in all likelihood, your PCs do not know each other and have been living in isolation (esp. the wizards), unless you would like to foreshadow some sort of relationship by starting in the same room...
As of last count these are the players involved:
Rayage - Nuit/Alchemist
Sanguine Black - Nuit/Summoner
Neuge - Nuit/ has 5 in Shielding ...
Amireh - Half Vantha/Voider
Irriari - Zith/ Poison Combat
Kamalia - Konti/Reimancer
Hunto - Myrian/ Combat

The magics are well represented. *sagely nod*

8.
personal stuff :
Those of you writing with me know that I take forever to respond to threads, even PMs are left unanswered sometimes. This is because I work 9 hours a day, with a 4-5 hour commute, and on top of that I have extra 4 hours of class spread within the week, a part time job that takes up 10-12 hours a week, and life, if time allows me to get a life in between. This means that I am not fully able to write as fast as I can - the plot is there, but it takes a while to materialize (get written) - and you guys might decide that the quest is taking forever and it might affect how your future threads will roll out. Please be patient x9000. Please. My last quest thread ended up like a decapitated Nuit body and I don't want another one like that :(

9. Problems that arise due to the slowness of the thread (will it affect future threads dilemma) can be totally avoided by not mentioning Sahova at all, or at least being vague-like "it was a terrifying experience" or "i hate golems now" or "it was a life changing moment". Skills or items gained within this thread must not be used until the thread is properly awarded. You can hint at "I've been hiding magical artifact xxx, until now" or "I have tried to keep skill xxx a secret" if you find yourself in a position where you have to mysteriously "know" or "have" said item or skill in the future. (I hope that made sense)
10. Oh, and one more thing, there's no posting order. Please give me the discretion of posting anytime I want. You can also double post or triple post per round, as long as there's at least one person who posted after your last post. This will make things more interesting (and convenient) instead of All Players > Mod posting order. (Please make sense out of these words. Rofl.) Have lots of fun!

EDIT: Gais you can post nao.

Yes! *copy/paste* Thank you Pan Pan :) This whole no posting order thing is going to keep things interesting. A bit chaotic too I would assume but nonetheless fun. Im just going to have to keep up to date on everything from here on out (quest wise).

Oh and speaking of the quest I got a shiny new background in honor of the epicness that is going to be this quest. I cant wait to see how this all is going to turn out and I hope I did my intro all right. I tried to show people who Ray was in that thread... I guess I sort of lost track of the 'challenge' part. Haha, oh well.

Yay for being the first Sahovan All-Star (Not including our epic Princess Pan Pan) to post in the quest :)

I like how she put dots after my shielding. Somehow I feel insulted and gratified.
It's totally okay though! This is an excellent chance at pushing for a good beginning.

You have most points in Embalming, and I could not bear to put that as your main skill :P
