Kavala met Ghedan as planned, but she wasn't alone. Unlike the striders he was probably used too, the slight Konti stood between two enormous young stallions who touched noses and only nipped at each other roughly in mock disapproval. Both wore yvas' and stamped impatiently wanting to run. The blond stallion, closest to Ghedan turned and looked at him as Kavala whispered to him. It almost seemed like she was telling him to mind his manners and treat Ghedan with respect. The darkly dappled grey stallion, furthest from Kavala, also gave Ghedan a searching look as if casting judgement. Both were built for war though their long legs and curved sides looked fast as well. Nothing was as fast as a Strider on the Sea of Grass though. The grey had a short braided mane while the blond palomino had so much hair there was no containing it. Braided, sure, but it escaped fluttering in the wind as he waited for his new rider.
"Gideon.. this is Silk" Kavala said, gesturing to the Palomino. "He'll be your mount. He's just three so go easy on him. This other fellow is Ghost. We are just getting them used to each other and to moving mares without harassing them for breeding. Silk's got about a season worth of riding under his belt. Ghost is just learning. It's his first season carrying a rider. He grew slow so I didn't want to start him too soon." Kavala said, thoughtfully.
She moved around to the grey's side and leaped, clambering up onto his tall back. Kavala was only about six inches over five feet, so it was a feet for her to get on the giant's back. But once there she settled easily and waited for Ghedan to join her. Once he did, she'd lead them both out the gate and around towards the wildlands where most of her mares were out feeding.
