Keva looked down as he walked when she mentioned how similar they were. “Well I don’t look exactly like the other Vantha. Mostly all the Vantha have golden tanned skin, I’m one of the rare ones that have pale white skin.” Keva paused and looked up to Mortemor. “I’m kind of an outcast here, people see me differently. Especially because of the rumors about me.” Keva didn’t want to mention the rumor, he figured Mortemor would find it silly. It was only a story that the Vantha had made up, though Keva still wasn’t sure if he should believe it or not himself.

“Anyway Morwen treats me like I’m a Vantha and this Gnosis mark proves it. “ Keva said proudly, brightening up his mood. Keva gave a smile, looking at Mortemor. It was really nice for him to have this conversation and let things out, he couldn’t remember the last time he felt like this.

Keva listened intently as she described Zeltiva, it seemed so amazing he only wished he could see it with his own two eyes. His eyes even seemed to light up with the stars and she described the library. Of course reading was Keva’s favorite hobby, he knew he could spend days just reading all the books that library could hoard. He probably would be able to learn so much about anything imaginable in that place, even if he was over exaggerating he still loved to dream.

Keva gave a disappointed look as she asked him if he traveled. “No… I’ve never been able to travel anywhere. It’s my dream to travel the world, but the Vantha are not very known to travel and there’s no way I could get anywhere on my own.” Keva looked down watching his feet take each step along the cold path, he only wished he could share hundreds of stories about all the astonishing things this world has to offer.

Mortemor listened intently to Keva as he spoke about how he felt in his city, and how he wished he could travel the world. She was stirred by both the fact that Keva felt like an outcast, and that he too, longed to see what the world had to offer. A pang of sympathy shot through her heart. She pouted a bit as she watched him with a steady eye.

“What’s so wrong with pale skin?” She asked; her tone sounding a bit indignant at the fact that others would cast judgment on the poor boy, simply because his skin was light. “At least the Goddess Morwen seems like a sensible person!” She spouted. She clapped her hands together and blew hot air into her palms to warm them. Her emerald eyes darted over to him a few times before she nonchalantly asked. “So… are they bad rumors? Why would someone spread rumors about you? … Is it ‘cause of your skin…” Mortemor sheepishly murmured one question after another; ashamed at prying into the young man’s personal life, but still too intrigued not to probe.

OOC(Planning)I’m sorry this one seems short, but I didn’t want to try and smush all the information or questions into one post. I want to spread them out a bit that way we both can develop our characters a little more indepth. Therefore in this one I just wanted to cover how Keva feels, and about the rumors being spread about him. I plan to have Mortemor ask him about Traveling in the next post ^.^

Keva sighed as she questioned about the rumors. He didn’t really want to talk about it to her, but he guessed there wouldn’t be much harm in telling her. Keva tilted his head up slightly to look up at the stars ahead of them before speaking.

“It’s not just because of my skin, the Vantha are good people. It’s just we have a long history of telling stories and many people believe these stories.” Keva said and looked over at Mortemor. “You’ll probably find it silly, but its rumored that I fell from the stars. Everyone says that I was found in the wilderness with no parents, that I just came from nowhere. That’s why people treat me differently, they still consider me part of their family but I’m really just a mystery to them.”

Keva looked down at the stone path, his eyes turning a shade of purple. He was thinking of his past, of his life so far. He never was able to live a normal life like any regular family. He never knew his father or mother, if they even existed, he was only raised by an elderly woman by the name of Kirrina. Even though she was like a mother to him and he loved her very much, it was very hard for him to live a regular life. He though about how he became skilled in Auristics. He wondered if it was a gift or curse now since he could feel what people thought of him. He knew they thought he was strange, that he didn’t fit in. Though they would always put on a fake face and say he was part of their family. Once Kirrina died Keva truly became alone in this place and his thoughts of being an outcast only grew greater. That’s why he desires so much to travel, to get away from this place and his past.

Keva sighed as his past flashed through his head, he realized this was upsetting him and stopped thinking. He looked back up to Mortemor, his eyes were a clear shade of light purple now, though he still managed a slight smile to hide his inner pain.

“You’ll probably find it silly, but its rumored that I fell from the stars. Everyone says that I was found in the wilderness with no parents, that I just came from nowhere. That’s why people treat me differently, they still consider me part of their family but I’m really just a mystery to them.” Keva uttered in a solemn tone. He stared at the stone pathway ahead of them; Mortemor could tell the young man was being troubled by his thoughts. She felt like biting her tongue for asking such a rude question. She didn’t intend to make him feel uncomfortable. ‘Maybe, I can change the subject…’ She thought, as she turned to Keva, who now was looking up at her with eyes like limpid pools of lavender. She sighed, feeling another sympathetic crack etch its way over her heart.

“oh, I’m so sorry Keva…” She sighed mournfully. “I shouldn’t have asked…”

The red-haired Halfling stared down at the trail for a second; trying to search her mind for words that would lighten the mood. “You know… one of the reasons I started traveling, was because I wanted to become an Endal…” She said softly; her voice sounding almost distant.

The young woman smiled lightly, but with a sorrowful gaze in her eyes. “..But at the same time… another reason I wanted to set out…is because… as a half human, half inartan; I’ve always felt confused as to where I belong… So I wanted to find a place that I could feel like I belonged to…” Mortemor’s attention turned to Keva. “I know that… if I do get to Wind Reach… I may not belong there either… but I want to know… I want to… feel…” She struggled to push the correct words to the forefront of her mind.

“I want to feel like I tried…” Her light smile took on the sad properties in her eyes.

“Keva… If I can help you…” She paused for a moment; feeling silly at the fact she had become so serious, then smiled genuinely and chuckled. “...Hell, I’m already setting out in another week or so… I could always use a traveling companion if you’re interested, o’course…”

She held her hand up suddenly, “Now! I know what you’re thinking! I probably wouldn’t make for the best protection during a journey ... But I’m pretty good with a bow!” She winked and pointed at herself, in an all too cheesy manor. Mortemor’s happy demeanor died off as she suddenly realized. “Oh that’s right! I need to buy supplies before I leave,”

Keva could tell that Mortemor was upset for brining up painful memories to Keva and he didn’t need to use his Auristics to notice that. He was surprised she had even apologized to him, he gave a slight smile trying to cheer up the mood as well.

“You don’t need to apologize. It’s actually nice being able to let thing out instead of keeping them bottled up.” Keva said and looked over to Mortemor with a reassuring look.

Keva listened to Mortemor tell him about the reasons why she wanted to travel, it seemed familiar in way. Keva also wanted to find a place where he felt he belonged, he just didn’t know where to go. As he listened his light purple eyes faded and were replaced with hazel until she had asked to come travel with her. Keva’s eyes quickly were covered with a tint of silver. He was in shock and disbelief that she had asked him so suddenly, it took him a moment to actually take it in and make sure it wasn’t just his imagination.

“I… I don’t know, are you serious?” Keva asked still in shock, he didn’t know what to say. “I would love to come with you, but I just don’t know… I don’t if I could just leave so suddenly.” Keva paused and thought for awhile, he thought hell he didn’t want to be stuck here forever and he needed to live in the moment. This was his dream. He looked up to the stars, before sharply turning his head back to Mortemor. “You know what… I’m going! I want to travel the world, this is my chance to escape!” Keva said delighted in his choice, his eyes turning a light green that matched the aurora in the night sky.

Keva spent the next moments just dreaming about all the adventures he might have being able to travel, it truly would be amazing. He heard Mortemor mention she needed to buy supplies, he realized he should probably get some too. He didn’t have much of his own belongings. He wanted to leave this second, he was so excited. Though he knew they needed to prepare and rest before heading out.

“Well we’re almost at the inn, tomorrow we can start fresh and head to the market to get supplies.” Keva said, his eyes lit up, brighter than the stars. He was so excited, he couldn’t believe that he had finally been given a chance to live his dream.

OOCDon’t worry it’s perfectly fine, I’m a patient guy :3

Mortemor watched the boy’s expression grow from a heavy sadness into a bewildered gape. His eyes flashed silver, a color reminiscent to the white butterfly wings she had seen in a display case, on her mother’s glasswork shelves back in Zeltiva. His intense demeanor melted away revealing a slowly climbing enthusiasm. He seemed reluctant at first and tried to reason with himself; but Mortemor could tell this was something he had been mulling over for some time now, and for a moment she thought he might refuse. After casting a dreamy gaze heaven ward, Keva finally snapped his aurora eyes onto Morte.

“You know what… I’m going! I want to travel the world; this is my chance to escape!” He exclaimed in a manner completely different from when Mortemor had first met him. Once again her strongly emotional Inartan side had taken over and had spoken before her human side could think over the situation. Despite this, Keva's sudden change in mood made her smile, and although the Inarta in her heart was overjoyed to have caused such a reaction; the human side in her head still wanted to be cautious of the lad, and prepared for the journey. She could tell Keva was very excited and he seemed so anxious to begin the next day and head to the shop to pick up what would be his traveling gear.

“Now Keva, we won’t be heading out that soon!” She tried to calm him before he got ahead of himself. “We need to prepare, too, before we leave… I mean have you ever been in The Northern Reaches? I hear it’s pretty brutal! And I don’t know about you but I’d feel a little safer with some more group members…” She chuckled nervously, imagining all the trouble they could encounter once out in the wild snow lands. “I think it would be smart to find a hunter who knows the land well, you know?” She looked towards him for approval. “I’d hate to get lost in all that snow…” A flash of her freezing to death shot through her mind's eye; causing the red-head to shiver.

(EDITED)Planning!Got my question answered! ^.^ We can do a scene in the inn in this thread, and I'll just make a short post in the [Location] thread when I need to get the room.

Keva snapped back into reality, even he knew how dangerous this trip could be. He had heard stories from travelers of how dangerous their trip was to get here. He even saw the horrible injured people being carried into the city and even corpses, some that were unrecognizable. A chill softly came by and for the first time Keva shivered from it. The wind an eerie feel to it, thinking of the death that had been granted to many travelers. Keva’s eyes turned a light silver and he thought to himself, was this trip really worth it if it meant risking his life? Keva shook the nerves out of him and realized that no matter what he was taking this trip. It was his dream and he didn’t want to be stuck here for the rest of life.

After thinking for a moment, Keva looked up at Mortemor and nodded, his eyes slowly began to return hazel though a hint of silver remained. “I understand,” Keva said. “I know how dangerous it can be so it would be better to prepare and find someone who can guide us. I just got really excited before.”

Keva tried to think of anyone who could safely guide them through the snow, but no one came to mind. He guessed they would have to look for someone after getting all their supplies. Keva stopped thinking of they approached the inn and Keva stopped walking at the inn doors.

“Well here we are, the Savintar Warrens.” Keva said and looked up at the building, then back to Mortemor, “It’s really nice here and warm too.” Keva smiled and opened the door for Mortemor, feeling the warmth from the building rushing over his body.

OOCSorry for the super late response ^^; I guess my mind has just kind of been elsewhere for the last few days.

The color bled back into Keva’s eyes as he assured her that he too had plans to prepare before leaving for the Kalea region. They arrived at the front office to the Warrens, its roof had a thick blanket of snow upon it; but there was a warm glow coming from the inside. Mortemor felt relieved to have finally come all this way, to find a place to rest. “I’m sure we’ll find someone to help us out…” She sighed. The woman settled gentle green eyes onto Keva and smiled warmly. “Go home and try to sleep… you have a big day ahead of you!” She beamed up at him and placed a warmed palm onto his cheek squeezing it lightly and playfully. “Thanks for all your help!”

She left his side, feeling a little sad to have to say good bye to such pleasant company, and entered into the tepid environment the front office offered.

OOCNo problem ^.^ I can understand if you weren’t in the right mind set. Sorry it’s so short XP, do you want to continue this with the hunter Khamina? Here’s her thread, we already started, but you can like have Keva stumble onto us or something XPP So far we’ve just been discussing how much she’d charge for traveling and training with us.

Keva nodded and smiled as Mortemor spoke to him, he knew they both needed to get some rest for what they were going to face. Keva watched Mortemor go inside the inn, then closed the door behind her. Keva sighed sadly that his company was gone, though was still so happy he had met her. He walked quickly back to his home at Skyglow; he couldn’t wait for the next few days. As he walked he frequently looked up at the stars and smiled that they had finally granted him his wish.
