A finely honed point III (Jaelyn)

Jokor couldn't help but to grin in satisfaction as he knocked jaelyn of her feet and to the ground, his plan had worked flawlessly! Quickly rushing to finish the job he lashed out with his dagger that he had tried to keep hidden during his assault, hoping to hit her in the head. Thinking that Jaelyn was helpless though he didn't really notice the attack of her shield until it was to late, his hasty attempt at dodging way to late to maky any difference and he got the full force of the hit in his side, staggering backwards he tried to catch his breath as he positioned himself in between her and her fallen spear, giving himself a few moments to catch his breath and wait for a better opportunity to attack, maybe when she was trying to stand back up he would get another chance.

A finely honed point III (Jaelyn)

Postby Jaelyn Baroth on June 28th, 2011, 7:21 pm

The solid impact of her shield let Jaelyn know she had been right in her belief even before she caught sight of Jokor stumbling away from her. Still, she was in a bad position and Jokor would most likely not be caught off guard by a shield strike like that again. She had to get back up quickly, but that would be a good time for Jokor to strike. Still, she didn't have much choice.

Leaning back on her right hand she pulled her left foot back, and then planted it as close to her bottom as she could. Keeping her shield up in an attempt to be defensive she then gave another hard shove with her right hand and leaned forward, putting most of her weight on her left foot and swinging her right leg around to her right and bending it. Now in the position of being down on one knee she paused in her movement to focus on defense, ready to bring her shield around to try and block an attack from Jokor.

A finely honed point III (Jaelyn)

When Jaelyn began to try to scramble back to her feet jokor took his chance, taking a deep breath and ignoring his bruises on his sides he darted towards her his dagger at the ready, he doubted he would get a better chance in this fight, so this was sink or swim. When he was only a foot or two away from her, she managed to get steady enough and her shield was ready to take any blows he could deal. Not willing to just let it go jokor gritted his teeth and instead of trying to get around her he just jumped right at the her, hoping to bowl her over and pin her to the ground with his weight. Lashing out with his dagger at her helm, hoping to hit a weak spot of some sort.

A finely honed point III (Jaelyn)

Postby Jaelyn Baroth on July 1st, 2011, 8:25 pm

As Jokor charged forward Jaelyn did her best to brace herself for the coming blow. Running like that he couldn't be planning anything complex, and so she turned her right leg, the one she was kneeling on, so it was perpendicular to Jokor's approach and would help provide a better brace.

As Jokor jumped Jaelyn clenched her jaw and angled her shield to try and direct some of Jokor's force away from her. Bringing up her empty right hand to help add strength to the support she gave her shield she leaned back with the force, and watched as Jokor's dagger passed within inches of her helmet.

With a heavy grunt she shoved back against the shield and Jokor, her muscles complaining at the strain they had been put through. As Jokor's weight was removed from her shield Jaelyn took a slow breath, and then stood up and faced Jokor, "Well done," she offered as she removed her helmet so he could see her smile, "You almost landed that last blow. You are definitely getting better Jokor."

A finely honed point III (Jaelyn)

Jokor let out a string of impressive curses as he was knocked a few steps back by Jaelyn's shield without even getting a scratch on her. That trice damned suit of armor was just always in the way and there was absolutely no way he could slide his dagger in the weak spots, wherever those where, while an opponent was still moving around.
“Almost landing a hit won't help me much though.” Jokor grumbled, frustration easily audible in his voice as he slid his remaining dagger back in his sheet and went to collect the one that he had thrown away. “I guess that means we are done for today, see ya again one of these days.” he gave Jaelyn a quick wave before leaving. his mind mulling over the problem and how he could solve it.
