[color=#FFFFFF] Technical Information Race: Inarta Birthday & Age : Season of Spring, Day 1, 494 AV : 17 Years old Gender: Female Height: 5’2" Weight: It’s not polite to ask a lady how much she weighs (But if you really must know, 110lb) Eye Color: Dark Blue Hair Color: Crimson Physical Description Try Not to Gag from the Awesomeness :
Tiny and cute, Vala uses her lithe, 5’frame and easy smile to get away with most anything.
As a full blooded Inarta, Vala has all the typical features of her race. When a light hits her eyes they shine, bright blue. Vala prefers her dark, crimson hair let loose, down to her hips, but when she is working she puts her hair up in to two pigtails, high up on her head, to keep it out of the way. Her hair usually lies flat and is easy to manage; she rarely brushes it; the ends curl naturally. Without much money to spend, Vala keeps to simple clothes: A plain black Byrda; Vinati; scarf; ankle length pair of boots; and Katinu. Vala’s favorite colors are black and silver, exhibited in her clothing choice. She also believes black is a super efficient color. Her main distinguishing mark is the burn scar, in the shape of a heart, on her left palm. She was burned the first time she worked in a Hot shop, by a careless artisan. Since the 4th of Spring, 511, Vala has been wearing a simple lampwork bead in a thin braid that lies by her right temple. From this Thread Secret :
Character Concept (Spoiler) She's Crazy :
Vala’s cutesy-pleasant manner and initial meekness when meeting people is a not exactly a façade, but she purposely exaggerates her childishness to lower peoples' guards. Vala hates to feel bored, when she is bored she tends to get in trouble. She is very manipulative, demanding, and aspires for ‘immortality’, no matter what the cost.
Though Vala is quite self assured, she is still childish; she refuses to acknowledge her short comings as weaknesses, which prevents her from ever fixing them. She is petulant when she is refused what she wants, or believes she deserves, but because she is usually smaller and grew up without connections, Vala resorts to passive-aggressive attacks and sabotage to get even with others. She holds grudges for years: she still holds a grudge against a small child who got her favorite scarf dirty; she's been holding the grudge for 14 years. When Vala feels frustrated or angry at a situation or others, instead of breaking things, she cries: which makes her angrier. She lashes out verbally and tries to hurt people emotionally. Unlike most Inarta, Vala hates to be touched: she will scream if hugged; she will tolerate affection if it means getting her way. Which is strange since she loves to socialize with people, but she always keeps them at a distance; she feels uncomfortable letting people too close to her, afraid they will take advantage of her. She has yet to let anyone know that she is actually quite evil: she has yet to be caught torturing Dek; she usually takes her frustrations out on them because she knows they can't fight back: Vala doesn't realize how cowardly she is: she replaces self respect with over confidence in her destiny. Vala is also very prejudiced, she hates the Dek for their lack of achievement in life. She constantly debates with herself why so many are allowed to live, when only a few of them are required to help maintain Wind Reach. She has a large self-entitlement complex. She only respects those at her level and above. Vala idolizes the strong Endal for the fear and respect that they command, but she hopes to achieve respect from others, and herself, from the mastering of an art form that will hopefully, change the world with its beauty. Character History Pretty Whacked Out if You Ask Me :
As an abandoned byproduct of a liaison, Vala was raised in a large communal nursery, cared for by Commoners. She was spoiled early on by her caretakers as long as she made sure to appear nice and demure whenever there were elders around her. Around her peers, she acted completely different. Vala loves to play well-meaning pranks on her friends, and less well-meaning pranks on people she find deserve a good ‘in-place-putting’. Eventually she was caught, once, torturing a malformed Dek. Though it is not illegal in Wind Reach to mistreat the lower caste, her teachers realized that Vala wasn't so sweet, and grew wary of her. Vala learned how to hide her anger and 'activities' better.
When she was transferred to the youth section of the city, she began putting all her energy to beating her peers. She was a horrible gloater when she won, and a bitter loser when she wasn’t the best. She wasn’t the smartest of them all, but Vala is definitely one of the craftiest. She loves to get things done, but she also loves to have a good time: leading to procrastination until the last minute and a frantic scramble to finish, and finish well. Vala found that the more she worked, the less bored she was, and the less she hurt others. Vala’s enthusiasm and innate skill, attracted the attention of an Artisan who chose her as an apprentice at age twelve. She worked hard, and learned fast, but her Master was killed in an impromptu knife fight on the street when an angry customer challenged her master’s workmanship. She is now looking for a new master to teach her or at least let her work in their Hot shop to work on her own and earn her keep. One day as she was walking home, at night, from her job search, Vala was accosted by a Mage: he was an older man, drunk, a master at Reimancy and a novice in Hypnotism. After several days of overgiving from trying to keep up with all the Reimancy work orders, he was starting to lose his mind. Seeing Vala, a commoner, and him, as an Avora, alone in a fairly secluded area, he decided to have some fun. He hypnotized her, she tried to resist, but it was to no avail, and he led her to his room in the Darvina Common Rooms and forced her through the Reimancy initiation: he drove his Res into her unwilling body. Luckly for Vala, she managed to survive, barely, and get away when the mage began to writhe in pain, dying as he had overgiven for the last time. Vala has told no one that she has the ability for Reimancy, she still feels shame from being so easily overpowered. |
