(This is a thread from Mizahar's fantasy role playing forums. Why don't you register today? This message is not shown when you are logged in. Come roleplay with us, it's fun!)
The player scrapbooks forum is literally a place for writers to warm-up, brainstorm, keep little scraps of notes, or just post things to encourage themselves and each other. Each player can feel free to create their own thread - one per account - and use them accordingly.
Where Kamalia, Gromhir, Avayra and Satu leave Mura and set sail to Nyka, in a journey towards Syliras. Quite a heartrending thread since this might be the last time Kamalia will ever see Mura, having been exiled from her homeland.
The first time Kamalia meets Satu. This is one of my favorite action threads so far since I get the chance to see how Satu would react according to her heartsight and her own personal code, having to face the bitch Matalla Shivkani. This thread also brings out a lot of Kamalia's vindictiveness. Satu is a beautiful writer!
Kamalia and Gromhir meet Stitch, a blind aurist and martial artist, for the first time at the Golden Dragon Inn. Kam and Grom had been looking for a place they could call "Home" in Syliras, with Kammy feeling homesick. They will be staying at Stitch's orphanage until the end of Winter.
The pair visits the Temple of All Gods for the first time, and they meet Glav. I'm hoping that meeting Glav will enlighten my character more, and actually give her the chance to solidify her faith in Avalis. I'm hoping this will be a prelude to an even grander story arc.
The most exciting thread I'm in so far! Someone sent a note to Stitch at the Welcome Home that if Stitch does not join this so-called Game, the orphanage, along with the children, will be burned down. Kammy and Gromhir sneak after their blind friend to help him win the Game, and encounter unlikely allies like Nyahna Sasin, Demetri and Rhylen.
Plans:
A new thread with Satu in Mura where Matalla does something REALLY nasty to Gromhir.
A council thread where Shahal decides what to do with her wayward granddaughter. I'm hoping Avayra could come, and I was hoping I'd have the freedom to use Shahal Timandre and some of the Council Members since it's very important to my character's story arc. I have a somewhat brilliant scene in mind.
Spring: A new thread with Gromhir. Find a new home and a job.
Spring: Meet Nya Winters and Abashai.
Spring: Teach Rhylen some reimancy tricks?
Spring/Summer: Have a passionate affair grand adventure with Siiri!
HOPEFULLY, a flashback thread with Avayra and Aunt Kidala.
Spring/Summer: Have a passionate affair grand adventure with Siiri!
In the words of Facebook: 'Siiri likes this.' LOL
Apologies to everyone I'm threading with, but it's like the Danaides for me right now. ==/== "If it doesn't solve all your problems, maybe you're not using enough of it." - Violence
Silver, tinkling, dances by the sea Ebon velvet crowns above and yet Flame of diamonds glory by degree Mirror trails that lead thee from regret
Wardrobe robes, the softened silhouette Arcs that frame the siege of the arcane Res that greets the air by thy thoughts set Djed that calls the thunder in thy veins
Lips, such lips that sing forlorn refrains Twilight's rise, thy countenance to take Slip, ye sylph, thy people's ancient chains Drink the Djed of myriads in thy wake
Thirst of knowledge perilous to slake Alabaster halls in which to dwell Heart and flesh and soul all to partake Portions of a sinister farewell
And in her heart A hundred rooms She walks the halls Of her desire Awake, ye lords Your banners call For who withstands Kamalia's fire The fragile glass The folded steel The fluid force The fountain mist The breathing dreams The dervish days The flame - the ice Kamalia kiss'd
Some people find it strange that I listen to Japanese songs, but in truth, these songs sound more appealing to me even if I don't understand the lyrics. Maybe because when I don't focus on the lyrics, I am able to focus more on the melody, and the emotions that the singer is trying to channel through her music. I love songs that dovetail nicely with my hearing, my own emotions and my personality.
Final Distance is one of my favorite songs because of its unusual arrangement. Once, a Japanese professor told me that Utada Hikaru was one of the few real singers in the music industry, and it made me ponder. Whenever I listened to Final Distance, I felt a heart-wrenching, heavy and drowning emotion.
I began to research on the song and its lyrics, and found out that that Final Distance was once a lively, upbeat song called "Distance". However, Rena Yamashita, a 6-year old girl who previously won an essay contest, writing about how she wanted to become a singer like Utada Hikaru had died of school stabbing in the Osaka School Massacre in 2001. Utada Hikaru rearranged the song "Distance" into ballad form, and renamed it into "Final Distance" to honor Rena Yamashita.
