Your "WarTime" poem is very beautiful. I think you hit that dead on. Especially the first part. It hits me hard, especially being a warrior myself.
I look forward to reading more poems from you brother -- keep writing.
"If you want some, get some, bad enough, take some, But watch the sword by my side, Because it represents me and the motherpetching east side" -one of Mok's mottos
Whenever I hear this song all I can see is Kendall and Hadrian dancing to it. I don't think either of them have dance XP but it is still a nice thought. The words somewhat work with them. Not all of them of course. Actually now that I think of it, only one line really applies to them.
John Paul White: "You only know what I want you to" Joy Williams: "I know everything you don't want me to"
The song is a little too depressing to be a love song for the pair but I always picture them dancing to the song. It is so beautiful.
"I'm burning and I'm blacking my lungs. Boy you know it feels good with fire back on your tongue." -Ryan Ross .
I feel like I should post this video. It is the song that my scrapbook is named after. "Crossfire" by Brandon Flowers. The lyrics in the video are not all correct so I have the lyrics below.
"There’s a still in the street outside your window You’re keepin’ secrets on your pillow Let me inside, no cause for alarm I promise tonight not to do no harm I promise you baby,I won't be no harm
And we're caught up in the crossfire A heaven and hell And were searching for shelter Lay your body down...
Watching your dress as you turn down the light I forget all about the storm outside Dark clouds roll their way over town Heartache and pain came pouring down like Chaos in the rain, yeah They're handing it out
And we're caught up in the crossfire Heaven and hell And were searching for shelter Lay your body down...
Tell the devil that he can go back from where he came His fire he airs all through their beating vein. And when the hardest part is over we'll be here And our dreams will break the boundaries of our fears Boundaries of our fears
Lay your body down Next to mine…."

I am just here posting more music. I wanted to post music that helps me relax and smile. I felt like it was appropriate with how Kendall has been freaking out lately.
This first song is one of my favorite songs in the world. I have turned to it a lot lately. I have seriously fallen asleep with this song just playing on repeat. It's called "Exile Vilify" by The National. It is hard to explain that "Exile Vilify " means. Exile is a state of being barred from a land while to Vilify is speak or write in a disparaging manner. There is one line that really speaks to me though. "Vilify, don't even try." It pretty much means "Just talk down on others, don't try to understand them". At least that is how I saw it. Anyways, without further ado, here is "Exile Vilify" by The National! If you like it there is a site that plays it with a really nice rain feature in the background called "Chell in the Rain". BTW, this song was in Portal 2
The next song is one I have loved for years, "Lua" by Bright Eyes. It is really nice and simple. It is good for trying to clear your mind. I don't have much to say about it except that the lyrics are great and it is a fantastic listen (plus Conor Oberst is my idol X3).
This song is a bit different from the others but I do like it a lot. It's called "Bad Before Good" by Day One. Perfect for this whole theme right? I think that Kendall would do well listening to it right now since he has been having issues lately. I heard it for the first time on the show Skins (the same show Kendall's model is from). This video of the song has Kendall and Hadrian's models (along with some other people from Skins) so it was too good to pass up. You get to see Kendall dancing on a roof!
I know I have dropped this song before. It is my favorite song in the whole world and it is sung by one of my favorite singers. It is "Opie's Funeral Song" by Sufjan Stevens. I still remember the first time I heard it. I was laying on my bed one night listening to Fionn Regan on Pandora radio and this song popped up. Normally I just skipped over the songs I didn't know but something about this song stopped me. I just laid there and listened, really listened. I don't want to come off as pretentious by going "and this was the moment that this singer who you prolly don't know totally changed my life". In all honesty, it was one of those moments were it feels like the whole world has stopped and it is just you and the song that is playing in your ears. I remember getting to the end of the song and just crying. I had never heard a song that touched me like this song had. As childish as it sounds, it reminded me of my cat Salina (she has been dead for about two years now). Since then I have related it to many other things. Love, friendships, general issues. It has never turned into a bad song for me though. No matter how many times I listen to it when I am crying my eyes out it still reminds me of that night when I first heard it.
I have two songs for this one. They sorta go together since they are by the same band and I always play them together when I need some comfort. They have helped me through some really hard times. I don't want to dive into them but the words just seem to make perfect sense. The songs are calm and mourning and sometimes that is exactly what you need. "Play Crack the Sky" is so soulful and yearning while "Noro" is almost pained and haunted. I've always wanted to write a solo for Kendall with the feel of "Noro". Especially now that he is going a bit crazy. For the haunted and mourning soul in all of us, "Play Crack the Sky" and "Noro" by Brand New.
I don't want to depress everyone so I'll close this post off with a happy/cute song. "Catch My Disease" by Ben Lee <3
Thank you for reading (and listening) to this loooooong post. I hope you enjoyed!
