He rested quietly on his back, the comforting presence of Mae asleep on his chest helping him along into his dream. Exhaustion clung to his every pore, wanting nothing more for him to rest and replenish his energy after such a day, his eyes even having a hard time to stay open as they stared at the canvas ceiling of the tent. Gently he secured a arm around Mae, and let his eyes close, content to let the sound of her breathing lure him into sleep.
Today had been nice, of that he was sure, and falling asleep with her a pleasant way to end it. Even now sleep offered a welcome escape barring the unanswered questions and thoughts that followed them, allowing only nice things to seep through like ideas for what to do in the morning, and the like. He would enjoy spending time with her was the last thought he remembered, before he was freed by his weariness’ and he fell into sleep.
