Kashik had sighed as Eda ran from the tent, and simply waited for her drinks.
A few moments later she sauntered back over to her husband and gently set a fresh mug of mead in front of him. Then she slung a leg over the bench and settled beside him, setting her own on the table as she let her head slump down to his shoulder. "I'm sorry," she whispered, sighing heavily. She wasn't crying, but now that Eldon had left she didn't feel the need to keep up appearances. "You... I understand that you likely made a promise, but you shouldn't have kept this from me. It's too big, Van. It's too much."
At that she raised her head from her shoulder, turned away from him, and began drinking her ale with a purpose.
