The cool morning air nipped at Conner's nose, as he stood near the ice gates. A combination of impatience and cold kept him moving around, a small area of snow was completely packed down from his pacing. It wasn't so much a rude impatience, as an excited one, Conner was thrilled to learn a new form of hunting. While basics are the same no matter where you go, each climate, each terrain offers different difficulties, and new challenges. To learn from a hunter of the land was a great honour to the young boy.

The sun was only now starting to creep over the horizon, hunting was an all day activity, and often even a night job. One could go hunting for days and catch nary a thing, other days your first hour in you land the biggest game of the month. It was a mixture of luck, skill, willpower, pain and even pleasure, that few things could compare to.

A strong wind blew, making Conner shudder under the large fur cloak he had wrapped around his body. He gripped his short composite bow and looked around, hoping to see the hunter who would train him.
