Fraxassildior

Basic Information
Race: Dhani
Sub-race: Rattler
Birthday & Age : 15th day of summer, 408 AV (Age 102)
Gender: Male
Physical Description
In his snake shape, Sildior is slightly shorter than 13 feet. He's average when it comes to the rest of his size, though his rattle seems to be slightly longer than most. His frontal fangs stand out the most with their size, like any other Rattler. His scales are coloured dark-brown with a copper ring around them.
His Dhani form is, from nose to tail, just an inch longer than 15 feet. He looks a tad thin, although this is mostly an illusion created from the stance he takes in this shape, with his arms stuck closely to his body and slightly hunched over. Like all other Dhani, he's completely hairless like this. His eyes remain the same as in his snake-form. His scales too, stay mostly the same, although they seem slightly more stretched and like an oval. His fangs and teeth grow in accordance with the size increase, perfectly matching this form's head. He slithers with some sort of grace, as if he was moving to a constant rhythm. His rattle is also a tad larger than the average one, just as in his snake form.
His human form is, just like the name, human. On close inspection, one might discover that his pupils are slightly more oval than normal, but this could be as much as a human trait as an indication of his true race. He's 5'7'' tall. His arms are buffed, not to the extreme like with a knight or member of the military, but more like that of a farmer. The rest of his physique is muscled as well, though the skinny appearance remains the same, again because of his usual stance that is the same as in his Dhani-form. He has a moderate tan, blue eyes, black, rugged hair, and a closely kept amount of stubble on his face. For a human, he's average-looking.
His movement would be the one obvious clue about his species. If he tries to walk like a normal person, he has a tendency to trip or lag in his movements. His normal movement, thus, is as he calls it 'slithering on feet'. Like his rhythm-based slides in his Dhani and snake form, his feet seem to draw half-circles inwardly, and stick close to the floor, and his shoulders move alike. Those with knowledge about and/or experience with the Dhani might see the resemblance, but to most humans, it will look odd, arrogant, or dance-like.
His facial expression is usually neutral and devoid of emotions, but that is only as long as he isn't focusing on anything. He has a habit of clearly exposing his emotions on his face, ranging from a small, sadistic smile, to a rage-filled face of a murderer. Humorously, if he notices his facial expression isn't in his usual stance, it quickly shifts to surprised, back to neutral, in such a short span of time that any observer would have a hard time not laughing about it.
Character Concept
Sildior's personality described in two words would be 'free spirit'. He's always travelling from place to place if it's save, and if his surroundings aren't too cold for his liking. He also holds freedom in high regard, and while he loves sadistic, cruel acts and chaos as much as the next Rattler, one would have to piss him off considerably, to the point where other Dhani might just kill you, before he binds or captures you.
In normal interaction with his kind he accepts the woman versus man society. It was all he has ever known about society and, though not stupid, he isn't the brightest bulb in the batch and never really put more thought into it. He obeys the woman of his race and respects them. The man, he treats similarly, though with them he's more prone to ending up in a brawl for making them part of one of his amusing and sadistic 'schemes' (schemes in his case are rarely more than simple plans, without much thought about the details. The only reason why a majority of them succeeds is because they tend to be without order or earlier hints about them). Because of this, he's seen as a bit of a troublemaker, but also as someone who really does care about the nest.
He lacks much experience with other societies despite his travels. He normally just sticks to the background and listens to local rumours and such, limiting his interaction to the local market-people for his provisions. He did find out that there are quite a bit of communities where the men are the ones in charge, which seems alien to him and makes him think that the woman of these places are quite weak.
Sildior's emotions are read like an open book on his face, and seem pretty extreme and to the point. When he's angry, he'll try to settle it on the spot rather than holding a grudge, and if indebted to someone he will give his all to evening the score as soon as possible. If interested or even excited by a female, he won't try to hide it and might even go as far as wooing her in public. The exception would be woman in power; He likes his limbs where they are.
Even while solving most of his arguments through brawls and feats of strength, he isn't a true dedicated warrior. He knows how to handle himself against someone of the same strength, has decent mastery with maces in human and Dhani form, and knows a good bit about stealth and tracking for helping himself to food, none of these things truly excite him. Sure, if he finds a suitable prey or someone completely on his own level, the thrill of the hunt makes his instincts more dominant and he revels in the emotion, but this rarely happens.
Sildior finds more enjoyment out of other activities. The one he most commonly practices throughout his travels is the creation of chaos, be it through misleading the locals while staying in the background, or scaring some people in his Dhani form. Something he rarely practices outside of his Nest, is dancing. He was introduced to it at young age by his mother, and in both his snake and Dhani form he's quite adept at it. His favourite is the 'sea-serpent', a dance taught to all Rattlers at young age, a dance that relies on the rattle to indicate the rhythm by softly smashing it into the floor, while the main body (and arms in case of the Dhani-form) moves from right to left in a waving motion. It exists out of 4 stages, each stage increasing in difficulty for the motions used, the patterns described and the speed of the rattle-rhythm, and the average Rattler will master up to the second stage. This dance is often practised at ceremonies dedicated to Siku (practising it in a circling motion around an unlucky sacrifice), or used for impressing the ladies. While not as impressive as a good display of power in brawls, there are some of the more 'calmer' Rattler woman who wouldn't pick a man if he couldn't do at least the first two stages perfectly and sensually.
Religion isn't really used to describe Sildior. While he worships Siku to some extend, he isn't a fervent follower and sees achievements as work of the individual rather than a god's 'whims'.
Other races, as mentioned before, often seem alien to him because of their odd social structure, and often displays his opinion about this if he is confronted by one of the inhabitants. He doesn't have a lot of prejudices other than this (except towards Vipers, whom he thinks are weak and frail, and against Constrictors, whom he thinks are arrogant and stupid) and, while not doubting his abilities, is always very wary of people until he can make a good assessment about them. After that, the way he treats people differs depending on their strength. If they are powerful, be it physically, in social standing, or in looks, he'll show proper respect, hides his spite and wouldn't include them in one of his chaotic schemes unless he's certain he could get away with it. Weaker people he'll treat as garbage or as children, often finding fun in badgering them. People of equal strength he'll remain wary towards, and after that it's dependant on further events that might occur between them.
In terms of combat, Sildior isn't an expert. He's a decent hand-to-hand fighter and knows a couple of tricks with a mace, but he can be easily outmatched by his peers. His strength is as much as one could expect from a Rattler, nothing less, nothing more, as is his speed and poison. Also, he's still a bit immature, and other people might quickly find a way to let anger overtake him and abuse that, for while his above-human abilities might be useful when taken over by his instincts, his movements turn very linear and easy to predict, and thus defend against.
Character History
Fraxassildior is a Dhani, sub-race Rattler, named after his mother Trannafraxas, born 408 years after the Valterrian in the Rattler nest in southern Taldera. On birth, he was as normal in appearance as anyone other nestling, though his rattle was already a tad oversized.
At young age, the elders expected him to become a warrior or hunter of the nest. He often ended up in a fight with the other nestlings, or even assaulted some of the older Dhani, until the latter actions were beaten out of him. They later learned they were wrong; He didn't fight so often because he liked it, but simply because it was the easiest and fastest way to solve problems with his peers.
Later on, he was seen as a bit of an oddball in his community: He wasn't a true, aggressive, sadistic warrior despite his common fights, and he wasn't calm and wise as his love for dancing and other forms of art would suggest. He seemed to be stuck in some stage between the two extremes, and with this uncommon in society, most people found it easier to describe him as weird, rather than think on it a little.
Sildior didn't mind this. He enjoyed himself, and the interaction with his people, so even if they often give him odd glances, he shrugged it off.
One day, Sildior felt particularly bored; The room where he practised his dancing was off-limits for the arrangements made for the upcoming festival dedicated to Siku, and there weren't any trips outside as the amount of food gathered was enough to last the entire nest several days. Finding the entire situation dull, he made a decision without much thought.
He went outside, unsupervised, at the age of 60 where he couldn't even use his human form yet. The patrols he met on the way outside disregarded him mostly, but the few that stopped him to ask where he was going he quick brushed off; he said he was on an errand for his mother, and with the patrols being only males, they didn't want to risk getting on bad foot with her for something so insignificant. He made it outside much easier than he had imagined, and he happily set off to explore regions the supervised groups always steered clear off, slithering in his barely 12 feet long snake form.
He discovered his love for exploration and free-roaming during this small experience, and it was also on this day that his ethics were set in stone. About one and a half hour after he had set off into the surroundings, he slithered through a bush, and let out a cry (or the closest thing a snake would be able to let out to resemble a cry). Just above his rattle, he slipped over a bear-trap and set it off. The claws were deeply stuck inside of his skin and muscles, and he was bleeding furiously. Almost immediately after his shriek of pain, he passed out.
He was stuck in the trap for several days. He squirmed and pounded on it but to no avail. He even tried shifting into his Dhani form, but the increase in size made the trap just cut into his flesh deeper and with more force, so in fear of his tail muscles, he quickly shifted back before he could even break the trap open with his arms.
It was lucky he had eaten just before setting out, for he was stuck in the trap for almost 20 days days, without food, and only a limited amount of water from rain collecting itself in a nearby pool. Nearing the end, being almost starved, he even hoped the person whom had set the trap would show up, even if it meant swift death. Luckily, he was found by a group of nestlings who were going out to hunt.
After being brought back, and eating till he was completely stuffed, he was lectured by his mother. Even more than the fact that he went out without permission, with such high risks attached, was the fact that he showed weakness by ending up in such a predicament, with only the help of others being able to safe his hide. This opinion was shared by a lot of other elders, and from there out his everyday life was completely wrecked. Several years he still spend in his nest, hoping the people would change their opinion, but it didn't. Finally, reaching his limits, he set off into the world, to escape from his nest, but at the same time to finally explore in total freedom like he wanted for so long.
Many things happened along the way, some things good, some things bad, and at the start of his story, he just arrived at the city of Lhavit, ready to explore this supposedly odd environment.
