Talen Stirling Basic Information: Race: Human Age: Born 4th Fall 491 AV Gender: Male Physical Appearance: Secret : Talen has the physique of a warrior, but at the same time his face seems too young and unscarred to be counted amongst the real soldiers of Denval. He is tanned from long hours of training and working in the sun without armour. His eyes are a gray blue, and he has a kind smile when he chooses to show it. He has slightly curly blonde-brown hair of medium length. Talen is of approximately average height; 1,79 m tall, but quite slim across his waist compared to other more sturdier warriors. Despite this he has considerable strength beneath the armour that he often wears.

Character Concept: Talen is a kind young man, with a strong sense of justice and faith in the gods closest to his heart and homeland; Priskil and Viratas. He's a soldier and a warrior, and believes in keeping order and peace. However, while his morals are undoubtedly basically good, he also harbours a deep resentment towards those who would disturb peace, as well as those who murdered his father. His youth and inexperience are made up for by a quick wit and willingness to work hard for succes. He's never known much of the outside world, he's been on a few ships but being a native to Denval means being quite far away from the rest of the world. Therefore he's quite curious towards outsiders, even if he attempts to hide it. Though he will often attempt to seem serious and stern, he is by heart of good nature, yet things do not always go as planned, and good people don't always turn out the way they wish.

History: Life is like a river, different people's streams constantly surging into and out of each other, rising and falling, becoming intense or slow, deep and shallow, and eventually disappearing into the sea. Talen was born in a simple cottage house in the easternmost parts of Denval city on a common wet and windy september day. His father was a part-time soldier and stevedore, his mother sewed clothes, and dreamed of being an artist. Talen grew up looking up to his father and loving his mother like any other ordinary boy. He spent most of his time playing war and combat with boys down the street with wooden weapons, dreaming themselves a future as heroes and soldiers in the image of the original garrison of Denval. As he grew older, Talen quickly discovered that he suffered from a mild but problematic case of hemophilia. Whenever he gained an injury in the wild games he'd have to either find a way to stop the bleeding or at rare times pass out and be saved by his friends and "enemies". Despite, or perhaps because of this, his will to fight and to be succesful became stronger. With time, his former toy fighting was switched out with training, and the wooden sticks replaced with practicing weapons and shield. Despite his condition he was set on becoming a warrior like his father. Often he'd pray to Priskil for hope and strength to carry on. He'd soon need the support, for in the 14th winter of his life, Talens' father was killed by a rogue Symenestra from "The Unforgiving". He was buried outside of their house under an old tree, and the soldiers who had brought his corpse back gave Talen his fathers sword. In the aftermath of his loss, several things happened to Talen. He became more reclusive; not scarred for life but somehow angry, harbouring a resentmet. At the same time, he intensified his training and grew increasingly protective of people around him, especially those close to him. Still, life moves on, and so did Talen. He met a beautiful local girl named Alice, and they fell in love. After several months of secret intimacy, they spoke openly about their relationship with their parents. Only to find out that the breeding program warned them of a threat of continuing Hemophilia in their shared bloodline. After much heated arguement and trouble, their relationship dissolved and Talen was left alone. Two years later, Talen has joined the soldiers of the city, working a part time job and simply trying to make ends meet living in the cottage that he inherited from his parents. In the spring of his 18th year, his mother met a trader from Avanthal and they were married and moved away. Talen felt she'd betrayed his father, and they've not kept contact since. Talen seems to be living a simple life, but his hopes of glory still burn within.

NPC's: Secret : Name: Michael Stirling Age: Born 468 A.V., died 504 A.V. 36 years old. Relation: Father of Talen Description and story: Michael was a kind and gentle man. He was a proud member of The Watch just as his father before him, as well as a stevedore at the docks. Well-liked in the city for his steadfast kindness, founded in an unassuming devotion to Priskil and the community. To Talen he was a hero, and that image never had to suffer the wear of time and reality since he passed away in The Unforgiving on a patrol. Still, through his son his devotion to their goddess, The Watch and Denval lives on. Name: Alice Silverpine Age: Born 491 A.V., 19 years old. Relation: Ex-girlfriend and former fiancée of Talen Description and story: Alice was and is a sweet girl, strong willed like most Denvali women but feminine and naturally beautiful. She always knew what she wanted even when she was little, and Talen was always too slow to understand what was really going on untill it was too late. Their relationship began when they were still young and not sure of what they felt, and became a strong love as they grew up. Talen always worked extra hard to impress her, and she was happy to play the part of being won over. In the late aftermath of Talen's fathers death, Alice was there for him to comfort his sorrow and help him get past the loss. The two were a solid couple, and at 17 years of age they announced their engagement only to receive crushing news. The breeding program told them they were far off related, and that their children would most likely have hemophilia or other inherited disabilities. This news put such a strain and so much fear and anger in their relationships, that they ended it shortly afterwards. She is still one of Talen's great regrets and sorrows.
