Gromhir slowly opened his eyes, but did not speak. Satu waited and silently observed the Ivaski without disturbing the blessed calm with words. “Good,” he finally said, “Now, slowly, feel the world around you return. The grass, the cool air. Take a deep breath. Feel your body return anew.” Breathing deeply, awareness returned gently to her body and senses. The firm ground, the call of night birds in the mist, and the ocean tides whispering, all helped restore Satu to the peaceful world around her.
He smiled, and Satu returned the expression readily. But Gromhir was not looking at her, did he avoid her gaze? It certainly appeared so. The Konti had done as he had instructed. She was confused; could a Guardian be embarrassed by her emotions? She did not know enough about the Kelvics to know for certain, but she would not have thought it so with this one.
Her emotions had been strangely prominent this evening, especially as she attempted to let them flow into the suvai. And then she had become visibly upset too. Now that she was once again alert, the painful discovery did not appear so dreadful after all. Of course her Heart was filled with emotions, of course she was sensitive! That was who she was! Avalis had made her a HeartSeer…
It was in this manner she reasoned her recent fears away, her consciousness unwilling to look at the deeper issues that were beginning to plague her. Satu instead happily thought of the session as an unexpected gift. She felt calmer than she had in a long, long while and peaceful too. But Gromhir’s eyes looked weary and tired. She supposed she looked the same after the unexpected tide of emotions. What exactly she had felt, she was at a loss to say. The late hour was to blame, Satu decided with relaxed contentment.
“I do believe that was beneficial, thank you so much, Gromhir,” Satu whispered not wanting to disturb the nights peace. She waited for him to rise; in case there was anything more he wanted to add.
