Seidaku found the journal of Quilon written in common—pompous fool thought himself gifted in the magic arts. Talks a lot about his father successor, but more about his own power, about convincing some stray fools to serve him; there’s some talk of actual magic in here, of DJed and overgiving, bleeding eyes and such. All symptoms of hypnotism—used it to run a con on his followers and eventually convinced himself that it was all true.The other? Well, it’s mentioned in Quilon’s journal, in a few places. They’re his father’s notes, but they’re well encrypted. Whoever he was, he knew his business well. Written in code, as was typical of wizards of the time; it’s world magic, real dull stuff, talking about the nuts and bolts of summoning, about crystal from foreign worlds and the their astrals positions. It’s written with the assumption that the reader knows Summoning as well as the man himself, so it’s no surprise that it’s hard for a layman to understand. But a scholar might.
Ulric on the other hand found a mix of things in his pair of purses. There was a flask of Alchemist’s Fire (one pint), that will ignite when exposed to air, meant to thrown and burn anything near, and a flask of acid of the same size that can burn through most nonmetal things given time. The other just had gold—twenty mizas total.
