Exodus Scythewing Insert Image Here (Host in our gallery, photobucket, etc) Basic Information Race: Zith Birthday & Age: Fall of 502, nine years of age Gender: Male Physical Description Though he is tall, pushing 6'5" with a lean and muscular build, Exodus retains the inherent lightness of his race with a mere 130 lbs. He is covered by short iron-gray fur everywhere save for his elbows and knees, from which sprout longer fur, shaded what he proudly calls "true black". His hair is colored somewhere in between the two, and though it reaches to his lower back when undone he usually keeps it out of the way in a ponytail or extremely loose braid. His eyes are black at first glance, but on closer examination they are merely a rich shade of dark blue. His wings, however, are his pride, and he spends considerable amounts of time tending to them. As such, they are unusually soft and supple, texture reminiscent of well-tanned deerskin. Though Exodus is more than a little confused at the concept of a large amount of clothing, he has attempted to outfit himself based on the advice of previous slaves. He tried to wear breeches, but quickly found those too restricting and wears a knee-length loincloth instead tied with a dark red sash. Though most of the time he prefers to go about barefoot, when in situations where walking is necessary he uses simple moccasins. He does have a white tunic, though the garment is almost never used. Character Concept Exodus, like many Zith, is driven by passion. However, unlike the rest of his kind, he is passionate for almost anything. His curiosity and wanderlust is a deep-seated need to see all that he can. Because of this, he sometimes spends long periods of time doing nothing but reflecting on his purpose, the purpose of love, hate, emotion in itself. Because of he frequent introspective episodes he was distanced from the other Zith of his clan, finding solace in the legends and tall tales of the slaves that served his family. Such adventures inspired him to strike out on his journey, in search of the world around him. Exodus, for lack of a better term, is in constant pursuit of beauty. This does not simply constitute art, it constitutes drawing, writing, sculpture, music, anything that he perceives as extraordinary. He is single-minded, and though he is quite capable of seeing the big picture it rarely alters his focus. Exodus is a strong believer in integrity. When he does eat human flesh, he always kills said human himself to 'prove' that he is worthy to eat them. He almost never kills younglings, human or otherwise, as the very idea makes him recoil. Even though Exodus frequently comes up with poetic terms and philosophy, he is still a youth, young and impetuous, and his head is quite thick. If he doesn't come up with an idea on his own it can be trying to get another one into his skull. He has a great need for guidance, though at the moment it is slaked by following the road. However, Exodus is completely incapable of making sense of any maps, usually doing more harm than good to his progress whenever he attempts to, and though he is trying to get to Syliras he is traveling on a road in another direction, going in a line vaguely parallel to the Cyphrus border. Character History Born into the great Zith city of Xy, Exodus was familiarized with the concept of non-Zith trade early. Before his first month was out he had been characterized as 'unusual'. He learned to walk extremely early, and it was a rare thing indeed to find him still. He was a born seeker; though of what neither he or anyone else was ever quite sure. He sought stories as often as he sought his mother's milk, and when he was weaned from both he took up pestering his elders for tales. His brother would almost always tag along, if for no other reason than to see Exodus get into trouble. The two were close in their early lives, though when they started to seriously mature they began to drift apart, and though they kept interaction and small inside jokes alive they went their separate ways. When Exodus was three years of age he began frequenting the slave quarters, finding that they offered a much more diverse set of stories than his fellow Zith. He was mesmerized by tales of the world outside of Xy, and his favorite slave, a Drykas named Baros Tallfoot, was happy to teach them to him along with his own native Pavi. It was Tallfoot who gave Exodus his first name: Scythewing. Exodus was never seriously interested in it, but it was amusing to say. However, it was Exodus that discovered his own love for beauty, and with a lack of it in his environment he learned calligraphy. He would spend hours on end practicing his letters until they became fluid on the page, constantly stylizing them to fit his ever-changing standards. When the time came for him to focus on his hunting skills, Exodus was less than riveted. He learned without the enthusiasm that had seemed so vibrant in his younger years, but though some of his family tried to encourage him he just was never interested. He became bored, doing his duties with monotonous obedience. Then, as he was setting traps, it struck him like a punch to the gut. He gathered all of his equipment and rushed home, seeking out Baros and informing him that he was leaving. The next few weeks were spent preparing, and Exodus slipped out at high noon, avoiding his sleeping family. He was caught by his brother, and upon informing him of his plane he implored Exodus not to go. Exodus politely waited until the end of his brother's rant, bid him a farewell, and left him.
