[SkyGlow Hold] The Earth Shaper of SkyGlow[Solo]

50th of Summer, 511AV The Vantha rose from his bed, standing at his full 5'8" as he stared at the block of stone that sat in his room. The Marble was about six feet tall, and four feet wide and pure white. He had gotten it from another of SkyGlow's stone carvers as a gift for his last birthday. He had decided at last to carve the stone, but into what? He stepped forward to the marble, reaching out with his hand. He placed his palm to the stone, spreading his fingers even as he bowed his head. His eyes closed as he called to his Earth Reimancy. Skilled in Earth Reimancy, Darrius would often use it to help shape his carvings before doing finer work. He had studied it when he was younger, and decided to use it in his work for Skyglow. He sent out tendrils of his energy through the marble, feeling out the rough spots. Finally, he began moving slabs off until he had a rough four legged animal shape. He stepped back to assess his work and nods in his approval.

He took his tools in hand, the chisel and hammer meant to carve details and knelt by the animal. He carefully rounded the nose, adding the nostrils to the animal. Lines for the whiskers, and the outline of the eye came next. His hands would carefully, slowly, tapping the hammer to the end of the chisel. He kept his Earth Reimancy focused on the marble to ensure he didn't hit a weak spot, and ruin the block. With each stroke of his hammer, the animal came more alive. He began to shape the mouth, open, with fangs bared. As he stood to dust himself off, he admired the rough shape. "Tis coming along nicely." He stated to himself, his mix matched eyes on the statue that he would make into a panther. He knelt by the creatures head again, placing his chisel to the head, and began to chip away stone to make the ears more shapely, round and not so rough. He hollowed them out slightly, giving the small details of a true animal.

He blew a bit of dust from the ears, using a soft brush to dust it off. The head was complete, and fierce looking. On to the legs. He moved down, using his chisel to shape out the rough edges under the feet to make the marble look more like a stone outcropping. He wanted the statue lifelike, and would try his hardest to do it. Next, he moved up to the feet, cutting along the talons, shaping the ends to a fine point. They looked like they could maul someone, bringing pride to his heart as he set to work toning the legs. He made them lean, even as he continued up the torso, using the chisel to work out the muscles that stretched over the panther. One might say it was real, save that it were made from marble. The Tail was last, his chisel carefully moving along the suspended piece, shaping out the lengthy tail, that was so thin. Finally finished, he would step back to admire his work, the stone dust covering his face, hands and pants. He did not mind, after all his beautiful Marble panther was perfect.

Appreciation Time! Name: Darrius Experience: None Lore: None Additional Notes: Hello Darrius, I know this is your first thread, BUT I can't ignore some of the issues in this thread. First off, you would not be using marble, there is just no way to get it up in Avanthal. You would be using Icestone, which may be found in the nearby caves and mines. Secondly, you are a novice lvl reimancer, first of all. You are not that strong, secondly, even if you were, you would be unable to "detect impurities," in the stone through its use, let alone carve into it with its power. Also, you are a novice lvl carver. Your work is going to have a lot of issues. Please play to this. Feel free to edit your posts, and then pm me and I can re-read this thread and give it a grade. But until then, the lack of gained exp stands.
