Contracting a New Acquaintance (Andresciel)

"Even in the task of knowledge," Erkindel replied to Andresciel's comment with a pleasant smile on his little lips, "I'm quite sure I'm more capable than either of the other two. Slekrisan presented me first because I am the best choice for you."

At the request for a demonstration from each Erkindel gave a nod and then bowed, "Allow me to go first," with that his form twisted and changed, falling forward and becoming a little green lizard.

For a moment Erkindel sat there, and then his colors started to change and shift until he blended in against the grass. It wasn't a perfect disguise, Andresciel could vaguely make out the lizard shape against the grass, but it was good enough that a casual glance or greater distance would not be able to notice the hidden creature. He scampered around a little, his colors shifting to keep him well hidden, and then returned to his mini-Andresciel form, "Not only can I be stealthy to help gather information, but with a stronger bond I would be much larger and able to easily help you in anything you needed."

"Well watch this!" Sleneera chimed in right after Erkindel stopped talking, and then quickly followed up by release a handful of small liquid bullets that shot off with great speed and impacted against the nearby ground with solid splashes, "See?" Sleneera's voice was quite noticeably weaker now, "I can attack."

"Sleneera, you need to be careful!" Slekrisan's voice held a tone of chiding, "You're still small and can't do that much!"

After an awkward moment of silence all attention turned to Velenor, who simply drifted there. After half a chime of nothing Slekrisan chimed in, "Velenor, can you show Andre what you can do?"

"Oh, right," came Velenor's voice, and then then wispy cloud grew thinner and thinner as it spread out to cover more area, eventually the faint tendrils of smokiness occupying a space a little larger than Andresciel.

Andresciel watched the three demonstrations, wincing when Sleneera hit the ground. He shook his head "You should not try to show off, dear little one. Gather yourself." He advised as he turned to Velenor, nodding.

This was Illusion and deception, He felt, that Velenor was doing. He could already feel a connection to the little being, but Erkindel was right. Earth seemed to do more for him then Air would.

But, His decision had been made already. "Velenor, will you accept me as your bonded partner?" He asked, his hand coming up towards the little cloud of smoke. He was confident in his choice, sure about his decision. "You'll have to listen to me, as my partner, but you will be apart of my every decision, Velenor."

Andresciel's question was met with another awkward silence as all attention turned to Velenor, who again seemed to have missed the conversation directed at him.

"Surely you're joking Andre," Erkindel said with a bit of a laugh, though there seemed little mirth in it, "Velenor doesn't even listen to you half the time, and his mind is clearly as firm and grounded as his form."

"Hm?" Velenor finally replied, his form contracting to its size before his demonstration, "What was that?"

Sleneera was silent, but Slekrisan chimed in, "Is that your decision Andre? You want to bond with Velenor? If so I'll prepare the contract."

Matthew for his part simply sat back and watched, leaving the decision completely up to the other Knight. If Andresciel sought his council he would simply give a polite smile and shake his head in refusal.

Andresciel seemed to blink once, twice, and a third time as he turned to Slekrisan. "I don't know my little friend. He seems distant at times and it would be bad to have an ally who is not grounded enough to defend me when I am in need."

He turned to Erkindel "Can I trust you not to try and dominate me when we grow more powerful together?" He asked, his wind reimancy coming out to tickle Velenor. He really did like the floating gas ball, even if he was a bit airy. He smiles down at Slekrisan, "Hm. Well I guess..." He stopped to think, watching Velenor.

"My little friend, can you pull yourself together?" He asked of Velenor, unsure of his choice now.

"Of course you can trust me," Erkindel said smoothly as his little form bowed to Andresciel, "You have my word and my oath that I will never try to force my will onto you," the little representation of Andresciel had a smooth voice, but it didn't hold the warmth of the other familiars, "If we bonded then my life would be tied to yours. It'd be folly to cause you problems."

Andresciel's movement of the air caused Velenor to drift about slightly, and the being of dark mist actually responded quickly to Andresciel's question this time, "Oh, sure," he said, and his form contracted even closer together until the creature was little more than a tiny dark sphere floating in the air.

"You shouldn't listen to Erkindel, Andre," Sleneera chimed in suddenly, rolling up to Andresciel's feet, "He'll say anything to get you to pick him. His kind are always mean and horrible!"

"I don't recall anyone asking you!" Erkindel snapped at Sleneera, though his little face showed no signs of anger, "Andre knows the best choice, obviously."

Andresciel closed his eyes "I don't wish to have a rude familiar." He turned towards Velenor once more, before glancing at Slekrisan.

The Mans choice had been made and with that, his life bond would be put to the test, "Please prepare the contract for Velenor and I. He is the one I pick. Air has always appealed to me. Though, I may struggle with his nature, I will learn to live with him, and all that he is." Andresciel would say, holding his hand under Velenor's small form. The Cloud Familiar seemed far more known to him then the stone one, and he would rather share a common bond, instead of one that may not work.

Silence filled the field at Andresciel's declaration of his decision, even the air seemed to hold still for a brief period. It was Erkindel that broke the still silence first, changing back to his original form and drifting back to the still open summoning circle, "Well, I'm sure you two fools will fit each other perfectly," the stony familiar snapped before vanishing back through the shimmering surface of the portal.

"I wish you would have picked me," Sleneera's voice carried a hint of sorrow as the small sphere drifted away from Andresciel and towards the portal, "But I'm glad you at least didn't pick Erkindel. He'd have caused you much trouble. Good luck, Andre and Velenor," and then the liquid familiar vanished as well.

Slekrisan quietly rolled over to Matthew, who handed his familiar a piece of paper, and after a few chimes he rolled back over to Velenor and Andresciel with the paper, which had various strange runes marked on it, "Andre, this is the contract that will bind you and Velenor together. If you accept, you must sign it with your blood to complete the contract, and bind you two together," Unlike previous times Slekrisan's voice was somewhat heavy and solemn, obviously the familiar was taking this all very seriously.

Andresciel's hand came up, as he turned towards Matthew, smiling before he turned back towards the paper. He focused his reimancy, and pricked his finger with the tip of a wind drill, a very secret technique he had developed.

The blood dripped from the wound before Andre dropped his fingers, tracing his name upon the paper in his blood, sealing the contract that would forever bind him and Velenor as partners, as he knew it would be from the beginning.
