Pre-CreationAselia, born into the prestigious and respected Timandre family in Mura, had always been a smart child. Perhaps not smart in the way most Konti would expect – instead of studying books and gathering knowledge all day long she rather went outside, enjoyed the sunshine, the glittering city structures and the white forests and beaches at the island. She could frequently be seen following paths and wandering through plains, usually alone and singing an ancient melody to herself.
However, that changed when she grew older and started associating with other children. Still she remained reserved and somewhat isolated. Perhaps her ability of sensing whether someone spoke the truth or not was one of the reasons, perhaps there were more important ones as well. Aselia befriended another Konti girl called Nefre and for a few years they shared everything. Or rather, everything Aselia was ready to reveal, since she still had her fair share of little secrets. She needed them, and Nefre soon found out how to communicate with her friend through other means as well. They were a good team, both working at the Opal Temple for a long time. While Nefre helped caring for the huge Ivaski dogs she wasn’t in the least afraid of, Aselia delighted in learning about the majestic and dangerous prey birds the Konti sometimes used for hunting.
Eventually it became clear that the friends couldn’t always stick together. Nefre had been born into a family that wasn’t as prestigious as the Timandre clan which started to show as they grew past the ten years mark. Although Aselia wasn’t exactly talkative, people started taking interest in her. She was the ninth Timandre daughter. She was required to meet the expectations of the elders. Grandmother Shahal had been satisfied with watching her way, but now she sensed that it was necessary to put some pressure on the girl. Suddenly Aselia found herself trapped by the encouraging words she had appreciated before. Although she knew that every Konti sooner or later specialized in one or two crafts, she wasn’t yet ready to settle down and get serious about what she was doing.
Nefre was accidentally isolated from her friend for a while, because Aselia should concentrate on her studies. So apparently Aselia had forgotten her, Nefre thought and turned away. Of course it hurt, but she had to find her own way.
So their ways parted when they grew up – the last present they gave each other they would cherish forever to remember the sweetness of their innocent friendship and the pain of their slow separation. At her 23rd birthday Nefre got a small white pup from Aselia and Skyla, the director of the Kennels. Aselia got a young male magpie, barely more than a hatchling, and named him ‘Linel’ – meaning ‘strength’ in Nader-Canoch, the ancient Mizaharian language, so that he always reminded her of staying strong and going her path regardless of what others said or thought of her.
Since then, Aselia has been staying with the family and strengthening her bond with Linel. Although she still didn’t speak much about herself, her next sister
Kamalia became her closest friend these days. When Kamalia was suddenly banned from Mura and Konti Isle, Aselia was shocked, but determined to support her sister in the following crisis. As a result, both of them left Mura together with Kamalia’s bondmate
Gromhir and the suvai practitioner
Satu. While sailing for Syliras, Aselia is dreaming of learning more about birds and many, many other things.
Post-CreationWhile Kamalia was sick with the burden of exile from Mura, Satu and Aselia
organized a festival on board of the ship with dancing, singing and storytelling to shorten the time until reaching Zeltiva. From there they traveled to Syliras by horse and received lodging at the local orphanage. While her sister and the Kelvic soon left to advance her magic studies, Aselia stayed and
started working at the local bathhouse. A human called Jaeden Kincade initiated her into the art of serving customers looking for relaxation... and more.
However, Aselia knew that she wanted to see the world. So when a ship from Alvadas arrived and
offered a free ride across the Suvan Sea, she volunteered. On board she met several other adventurers, among them a human girl she had first met in Syliras and lured into bathing with her. Aselia had helped Pain to accept her fate and treated her wounds, and during the journey their friendship deepened. Together with the others they encountered an Alvadan scholar releasing a dangerous wild illusion on the ship and managed to neutralize it.
After exploring Alvadas, Aselia and Pain joined a trade caravan and traveled through the rocky and wild heart of Kalea. Eventually they reached Lhavit where Aselia purchased a large house. Together with her mare and her peregrine falcon she wanted to set up a home and start breeding and training raptors in order to improve her falconry skill. For a start, she worked at the local pet shop.
Half a season had passed when she got a message from Pain: The farmers that provided Lhavit with food seemed to have caught an illness which posed a problem for the entire city. Pain, who had joined the Shinya Order, some of her colleagues and Aselia
went to investigate the problem...
