The player scrapbooks forum is literally a place for writers to warm-up, brainstorm, keep little scraps of notes, or just post things to encourage themselves and each other. Each player can feel free to create their own thread - one per account - and use them accordingly.
I’ve recently decided to become a CS Liaison and help with checking Character Sheets. I’m only playing one PC actively at the moment, and all my threads in Kalinor move slowly, so I used to spend a lot of evenings wondering what to do. The sun rises very late here, and it’s completely dark again by 3 or 4 pm and too cold to do much of anything. Mizahar keeps me from developing a serious case of cabin fever and going insane in this impossible Finnish winter. I’m not sure what things will be like this summer and if I will still be checking CSs then, but for now I’m having fun which might seem strange since a lot of people find the Character Sheets forum frustrating and would rather not go there.
Anyway, I wanted to post a list with a few of the most common mistakes and things that annoy me and link to two CSs that I was especially impressed with:
- 15/20/25 year old Kelvic. Kelvic age according to their animal form. A 20 year old cat Kelvic for example is practically ancient. - Kelvic that act like shapeshifting humans. Kelvic are not humans that occasionally become an animal. It’s the other way round. - Kelvic that are good with weapons. They are animals. They’d rather use their teeth and claws than swing a sword. - Kelvic that use magic. Magic is hard to understand for them. - Kelvic with more than one animal form. If you want that, become a Morpher. - People who have 5/10/20 points in a weapon skill and claim to be master warriors and nearly invincible. - Orphans. If you lose your parents in Mizahar and live alone as a child, chances are you’ll either die, be enslaved and/or be abused. Mizahar isn’t a good place to be an orphan. - People that live in the wilderness without the wilderness survival skill and/or a mark from Caiyha. There are things out there that would love to eat you! The wilderness is extremely dangerous! - Villages. There are none in Mizahar. Between the cities is mostly dangerous wilderness. - People whose home was burned down by bandits and whose parents were killed. If you’d go by what people write in their CSs, there’d be no houses left and hardly any people. Be creative with your background story. - Red eyed people who are not albinos or have Symenestra blood. - Anorexics. I’ve already had a few PCs that were severely underweight and mortally ill. I’ve yet to see an overweight PC though. I wonder why’s that? I’d really love to see an overweight PC for a change!
And now to two impressive new players. Such people are what makes checking the CS forum so worthwhile: Yve Lase
By the way, there is still room for a few more CS Liaisons. So go and apply and help us out!
And don’t hesitate to RP with new players. I know that some disappear again without a warning, but others stay and become great members of this community. I’m RPing with new players all the time, and I enjoy it.
Anorexic- food is scarce in Mizahar XD Really scarce evidently... maybe this explains why everybody STILL had the one ration they got from character creation? They never eat?
We really to appreciate all the work u guys put in btw! And we don't want you to go insane with cabin fever, hehe.
I have a question about Kelvics... what about noncombatant Kelvics? Like say you have a fish Kelvic... they still have the human impulse and need to be able to fight, right? But it's not like they can bite and claw their way through an enemy? Would they be prone to learning a human martial ability?
Well, this seems to be the place to go for cats judging from all the pictures, which is a wonderful thing.
Secret :
That is one of the few pictures I have left of my cat since he is still back home while I am here at University, but I happen to love this picture. Mind you that despite the fact that he was extremely pissed with me when this was taken, he still looks adorable and wonderfully fluffy. Sadly he is not smart, but the fact that he is adorable, fluffy, AND amazingly soft more than compensates for this. I mean just look at that fur, I am sure everyone seeing it just wants to pet him.
On a side note and despite saying it countless times in chat, Lily is absolutely adorable and I wish she was my cat. Sadly that will never be, especially since you turned down sharing her with me but I will live...barley. Good lord, fluffy animals are so effing adorable <3
