Race: Svefra Birthday & Age: Born 42 of Winter, 482 AV, (29 Years Old) Gender: Male Physical Description Castiel stands at roughly 6' 4", an average height for any male Svefra. He has an athletic build that is neither too muscular nor frail. He has brown and wavy hair that stretches down to his shoulders. He usually keeps his hair in a pony tail however. He also has a light beard that matches the color of his hair. His eyes are a deep blue like anyone else who would call themselves a Svefra. His clothing choice usually involves a white long sleeve cotton shirt, a pair of brown leather trousers, and leather boots. A satchel is strapped across his chest which contains maps as well as a spyglass that was passed down to him from his father. Character History Castiel was born at sea under the Starwave pod. His father was a navigator and cartographer for the ship he was on. Unfortunately his mother had died while giving birth to him since conditions on a ship were not exactly the best at the time for child birth. Castiel grew up just as any other Svefra boy would. He learned the basics of sailing and fishing and grew up living on the seas. He also received a great deal of navigation schooling from his father, who had hoped to have Castiel follow in his foot steps. Castiel found great enjoyment with navigation and also learned about astronomy from other members of the pod to aid his navigational studies. For the most part life was good for Castiel and his pod, until he turned Castiel turned 25. Castiel and his pod were gathered around a bonfire on an island in the middle of the Suvan Sea. There was singing and drinking and dancing, everyone was enjoying themselves. Castiel had decided to walk around the island and get a better picture of the island they were on. The walk took him several hours to complete and he arrived back at where the party had been. Except, everyone was gone. The ships, the people, everything had disappeared. The only thing that remained was a smoke coming off of where the bonfire had been. He had been left behind, abandoned. He spent his 26th birthday on that island. Castiel spent roughly two months on the island before another ship passed and he was able to signal it. The ship belonged to merchants heading for Syliras. Castiel helped around on the ship in exchange for passage to Syliras, where he hoped to find a crew to work on or possibly a new pod to join. After working on various crews for roughly two years, he was able to find acceptance with another pod. The Moontide Pod. Character Concept Before being left behind by his pod, Castiel was quite the fun loving person. However, after his abandonment he has grown considerably colder. He doesn't talk nearly as much nor is he as trusting of people. However no that he has been accepted into a new pod, he has begun to slowly open up. He remains extremely cautious of others motives however. He fears another betrayal. When it comes down to his morals and ethics, Castiel has as good a sense between right and wrong as any other normal person. However if he were to meet his old pod again, he may just push his morals aside... Castiel loves the sea and navigating it. Sometimes he could be found sitting upon one of the masts gazing through his spyglass. He also enjoys listening stories around a fire, although he refuses to tell any stories of his own. He feels any good times he had with his old pod has been negated by them leaving him on an island. Stargazing is another activity that Castiel enjoys. Castiel dislikes venturing too far inland. He prefers to stay by the shore and in port cities if he has to venture onto land in the first place. Castiel is also scared of venturing too far north.
