Physical Description
Kywan is 6'3" with a muscular frame, but not overly bulky - a given from life in the sea and on a boat. His hair is a sandy blonde with sun bleached highlights throughout and a very slight curl. It sits just above his shoulders. His skin is a warm golden color and his eyes a sparkling sea blue. His mouth is almost always upturned into a cheeky smile, complete with dimples. On his left side ribs is a tattoo of a hammerhead shark and a beluga whale. On the inside of his right wrist is a Mark 1 Oceanus Gnosis.
Character Concept
Kywan is carefree and fun, enjoying life as it comes and lives life to its fullest. His boat is his home, and when he ports its to woo women with his dimpled mischievous smile or to restock. He is quick to smile and flirtatious by nature - whether it be for future advances or to sweeten a possible bargain. There is a whole ocean out there, with a whole world of people, and Kywan is determined to meet them all.
Trained by his father at a young age, Kywan was painfully inducted into the art of Remiancy. With time, he has learnt how to manipulate and manifest water.
Character History
Kywan was born to the Maelstrom pardisa, cousin to Topaz and her twin Moonstone - and the rest of their siblings. At birth, he was marked on the inside of his right wrist with the Oceanus Gnosis as were his kin. It gave him the ability to survive on the harsh tides of the Suvan Sea, and with time will grant him the ability to control tides and currents. It was at an early age his father, Agate Maelstrom brother to Renal Maelstrom, took him under his wing and taught the young boy Remiancy. Agonising pain was a small price to pay for the ability to make ones own fresh water out on the salty sea. Even as a child he loved to be the clown, without ever acting to hurt anyone. Using his natural adventurous nature, Kywan developed a deep love for the home of his people. He liked to make his family and friends laugh, and was notorious for playing the fool just for the sake of a giggle out of his younger playmates. When not performing for his pod, Kywan could be found working on his casinor. If anything drew the young man, it was the ocean - and when puberty hit the lovely curves of a woman. He loved the sea, like any good Svefra does.
When finally finished, Kywan took his creation straight to sea and never looked back. The ocean runs in his veins and he thrives on adventure. One such adventure found him caught in a violent storm too close to the shallows, throwing him from his vessel and pounding him into the reef. Dazed, the young man slipped into the dark water of the ocean to drown - but he was found. Rescued by a pod of white whales, carried away from the storm. When he awoke, head pounding, arm broken, body slashed and throat dry, Kywan found himself eternally thankful the to creatures. In particular, one beautiful female whom carried him back to the beach of his people, where his broken ship washed up. She stayed with him, watched over him like a fretful mother whilst he healed. Each day Kywan would meet her at the water's edge and each evening he would lay on the beach and listen to her sing. Even when he healed, the white whale and her pod stuck around and she became his Tavan. The young man named her Naiuk, White Beauty. In honour of his pardisa and his tavan, Kywan has a tattoo on his ribs of the pod's hammerhead shark swimming tail-to-head with a white whale.
