The Wilderness of Cyphrus is an endless sea of tall grass that rolls just like the oceans themselves. Geysers kiss the sky with their steamy breath, and mysterious craters create microworlds all their own. But above all danger lives here in the tall grass in the form of fierce wild creatures; elegant serpents that swim through the land like whales through the ocean and fierce packs of glassbeaks that hunt in packs which are only kept at bay by fires. Traverse it carefully, with a guide if possible, for those that venture alone endanger themselves in countless ways.

10 Summer, 508 AV

Somehow, she had convinced the Elders that her idea was not only an option, but a helpful one at that. Irriari had stood in front of Chaotic, with her various poisons and vials carefully placed on the floor. The older zith had eyed each one and asked about the properties. It was a harrowing ordeal to have to answer questions like: “What exactly does that one do?” or “Where did you get that one?”. The most difficult question to answer however, was “Why?” So many of her brethren had asked her the same from the very onslaught of her interest in poison. Why would one even bother with such a roundabout spineless way of killing another? She had struggled with the question at first, mumbling something about 'increasing her ways to kill', but that never sated the jackal like men for long. Every day, the question taunted her, and after a few weeks her fear at the question turned to anger. Why would they ask her such things over and over? She had snarled at a few of them at first, then proceeded to threaten them with her very first concoction, which unbeknownst to the colony, had been a complete failure. Somehow, Sevrai had stood by her as she had for so long. So finally, after years of honing her craft she was able to look at Chaotic and answer proudly that it fit her, that she loved poison and it was useful and more versatile than simple claws. While she doubted the Elder would ever fully buy the logic, she had granted permission for a one day trial. For a span of twenty four bells, Irriari was allowed to attempt to poison the colony members, though her methods would have to be indirect.

It would take a week of planning on her part, and each poison would have to be cataloged before she could use it. At the time of their first meeting, she had not told Chaotic about what the poisons would do, but she knew that before she did anything, she would have to run each vial by Chaotic for approval. A few of the good warriors of the colony, along with the Elders would be sequestered in a room to themselves for the day, and she was not allowed to poison anything that was in the room, or that would come into contact with it. In the unlikely event that the colony got attacked, they would still have to have some means of defense.

Sevrai had already unpacked all the poisons and had separated the bigger four dose vials into more manageable sizes. Irriari planned to use ten doses in total, with 6 of the doses being split into half, 2 doses at full strength, and the final two would be split into quarters. While she pitied the unlucky family member that would suffer the full dose, none of the poisons cause more than six to ten bells of mild side effects. When the doses were halved, occasionally, the poison would also lose half of it's effect, assuming the potency was the same throughout. Occasionally, weirder phenomena would occur, and the poison would become nearly inert when separated from the original batch.

Irriari grabbed the closest vial and a small measuring flask. She wished she had more of these, but when she purchased the kit from a journeying trader, it's contents were mostly unknown till she returned to the colony. Now, after every time she used the flask, it would have to be thoroughly cleaned with packed sand or water to eliminate cross contamination. Chaotic would have her head if her 'mild poisons' suddenly turned into a horrible mix of confusion, nausea and strength sapping liquid when she had only promised one or two of the effects.
