Inarta questions

Well, right now it's only one question, but I'm new and will probably have more later on
My question is, exactly how racist are the Inarta? I mean, their lore page says that half-breeds unfortunate enough to have non-Inartian features will often be sent to the Dek caste without question, despite these castes being quite fluid for everybody else. On the other hand, it lists a Kelvic among the Endals.

As a society I'm sure we look down on outsiders. As individual PCs it really depends. My PC is somewhat xenophobic and definitely elitist but she is also very curious, so she doesn't mind foreigners if they keep her entertained. (ie. Darren and Torc... maybe Ven) That part in the lore might be outdated. We generally welcome non-Inartans as long as they can help out in the city and they don't cause trouble. The Kelvic is an Endal because she's a Wind Eagle and feeds everyone. That makes her important.

Your importance in Wind Reach really isn't about your race of phenotype. It's more about what you have to give to the society. More skills = more prestige. If your lacking skills and drive, you'll be treated like a slave. Half breeds are fine. If you read in the lore, everyone raises everyone's kids, so there's no real... my family is better than your family etc. It all has to do with what you contribute to the 'city' and I term it city loosely.. as a whole.

I think I have a character concept now, actually. I also have one more question, thereby proving myself right...
Do any cultures use slaves? As in, buying people on the market?
Also, there's no scale on the maps. How far can you app. travel a day if you're on horseback?

Slaves are very common in Ravok. Here is the link to their permanent and legal Slave Market I've actually made a slave myself once... but her master left. And the travelling distance depends on the terrain. Ask the local DS between the cities you wish to travel for a more accurate frame of time.
