4th of Summer, 511AV
[He had went ahead and reserved a table for himself and his companions. It wasn’t hard; he merely picked a table near the back and paid the bartender, Merv, double the price of a night in one of the Pig’s Foot taverns suites. Undoubtedly that was not a waste of time. Eryss deplored taverns, especially the busiest ones, but knew that Cade and some of the others preferred them so he would play along until a real base could be procured for themselves. Tonight it didn’t matter where they met anyways all that mattered was who arrived and who did not. Not a question so much as a theory; Eryss had his own ideas about the subject.]
[Alone at the table it might come as a surprise as to how many people actually kept their distance from a wizened looking man dressed in a tattered cloak and baring scars on his hands. Bandages were wrapped around the palms of both concealing burns that he’d likely been responsible for himself, he did enjoy fire and making it but sometimes fire turned on its master and bit his hands, a small price to pay for the power he sometimes liked to wield. Nursing a mug of water Eryss drank while his malignant gaze swept through the crowds of people, he was always looking to see if he recognized any of the faces in the crowd or to see who might be looking back at him, most of the time he saw a patron staring at him it was out of the kind of curiosity that quickly ended when their eyes met but not always.]
[At a distance several things were noticeable to the trained eye even through the crowds of people packed into the Pig’s Foot at this hour, the table Eryss occupied was close to the back and far away from the main entrance as you could get and it was also closest to a wall so that it would be difficult to come up on the man from behind, not many people cared to recognize those subtle facts though. His table was also a little larger than normal and there were six chairs around it including the one in which he sat, most normal tables sat four chairs, but it was otherwise indistinguishable from all the other rough hewn furniture in this place. It was noisy in the Pig’s Foot and it smell of stale drink but that was the opinion of a man who didn’t touch spirits.]
[Before he’d come here Eryss sent word out to those who knew and had been in touch with Cade, reminding his associate to contact anyone he had missed, altogether there were there would be seven of them if they all arrived. Kiara, Antar and Corinth he knew by name of those he had met in the tavern several days ago and then there was the man, Craevan, and his Zith companion who he was somewhat wary about. The Zith because of her race, Eryss knew better then to trust them, and Craevan because he knew that wasn’t likely his real name. Understandable that he might not have wanted to give it up to strangers though, there was a lot of power in a name if the wrong people got a hold of it. Eryss expected most of them to show but he wasn’t sure about Corinth, she very out of place in a group like this, he’d told himself that Cade wanted her for a simple nights pleasure and that was all. Time would tell.]
[When the 23rd Bell chimed Eryss looked back in the direction of the taverns entrance. A serving wench with a basin of water refilled his drink and he waited, expecting Cade to be the first through the door any time now, to see who would come. The Wizard did have a certain curiosity natural to his demeanour, he was always looking and watching after all, but this was more to see whether or not his own deductions were correct or not. He hated to be incorrect but Eryss learned from his mistakes, especially the ones wrought from stereotyping others based on his own observations, and always made sure not to make them a second time.]
