[Flash Back] What does this djed do? (Jason & Clyde)

Jason nodded and began. Slowly focusing on a point on his palm, he took a deep breath and began to release the mist that was his res keeping his focus on that point; he forced the res to his point and into the shape of a ball. “Burn” Spoke Jason allowed his mind to guide the words to the edges of the res only. Once burning, Jason tried something that Clyde had said. With the interior remaining as res, he moved his thoughts to the inside forcing the res within the take a new shape, pushing the side in and bring point to create a square. Smiling after completing the task, he slowly worked the shape into a flat disc, after a few minute he stopped feeding the flame with res and let it go. Looking towards Clyde and speaking “What now?”

"Okay, that was pretty good. You have decent control over your res. Now that you have done that, I want you to try to toss your magic at something. The outside is ignited, but as soon as you transmute the core into flame, you will lose control." "Now, you control your res, and will it to move were you chose. Pick a target, say that rock over there. Try to aim right for it. Wait to transmute the core into res until it hits the outer of your control, and give it one final push at your target." Using his res ball with flames, he threw the fireball at another rock. As it got close, he waited, and then transmuted it totally to fire, making it go even faster. It hit with a good bit of force, and sparks flew all over. "Okay, now you try, as you saw me do."

Jason brought his thoughts back to allowing the res out of his body, once enough was release he shaped it into the ball of pure res, smiling in joy of his work he spoke. “Burn” he said as the outer edge began to burn. Looking around he found a tree, it was alive and looked well enough that the flames wouldn’t burn it. Allowing his thoughts to control the ball, using his hands to help guide it he sent it towards the tree, at the last moment, when he felt the res become harder to keep in form he spoke once more. “Ignite” and the entire ball burst into flames and within seconds it struck its target and disappeared. Looking back to Clyde, with the look in his eyes that told Clyde one thing, More.

Clyde watched as Jason went through his magics. He used different ways, first using gestures, then switching to incantations, and back to gestures. Most people stuck to one or the other, though some used both, though not usually at the same time, which he had not either. That was not really something that most did, as one thing was enough to help focus your magics, and did not need both to do so. In fact with most mages, if they tried to use both on there magics at once, it would possibly mess them up. "Good, good, not bad for someone who just passed out from overgiving. Now we do not want to do to much at one time, you are still rather weak from the first one. We can do something small perhaps..." "Now, do you only know fire, or can you control another element? If so, perhaps you can try combining them? Though only produce a small version of it, nothing big. I don't want to have to drag you back to the city." If you have wind, you can try at lightning, and if you have earth, you can make lava... Showing him once more, Clyde extruded a small ball of gaseous res beween his hands, shaping it into a sphere and floating it there. Then, pointing it at the rock he hit earlier, he shaped it into a spike of res, and began to move it towards the rock. After it got moving at a decent pace, he transmuted it, freeing the lightning. In a flash of light, followed by the boom of thunder, the tiny bolt of lightning flew at the rock, leaving a crack down the middle from the impact. A larger sized one would have obliterated the rock, leaving nothing but dust, but his was small enough to not do so. It left the faint smell of burning in the air, from the leftovers of the lightning striking the air on its path to the rock. "So? What do you think?"

“Very nice, I see you did that by control of two elements, I remember that in the book I was reading. For now, I can only control the element of Fire. Maybe in the future I will attempt to learn more, but for now I will stick with just one.” He spoke after seeing bolt of lightning strike. Looking up to the sky seeing it was almost sunset and knowing he had a long journey to the City, looked back to Clyde. “I must get going, I think you for your help and guidance. You’re more than happy to come back to the city with me? If not, until we meet again friend.”

Clyde also saw things were getting late, it would be a good idea for him to head back to. Though he had long ago learned to use more than one element, he was still best with fire. If he was in a hurry, e would always fall upon fire based reimancy, as it was the one he had the most control over. He had control over air also, but it was not as strong as his control over fire. Or maybe he was just more familiar with it. And perhaps once he learned a third element, he would be as good with air as he was with fire now. Though he would have to start from scratch on learning to work with whatever he gained next. But that was for him to work on later, not know. "No problem, we magic users need to stick together, especially around Syliras. Watch each others backs, so a knight does not sneak up behind it and put a blade through it... And yes, I will go back with you, there are safety in numbers, and it is not a good idea to be outside of the city alone." Clyde would walk along with him, chatting a bit as he went, happy to have met another magic user he could speak with, and someone he had something in common with. He had never been all that good at making friends, or getting along with others. He was just to odd, and his obsession with magic and with hiding it from others tended to put people off and drive them away. But maybe that would change, after all he seemed to meet a lot of magic users in his time, and often enough got to show off his skills and exhibit his magic he usually had to hide.
