Carina and Migeulo still sat inside the small tent; discussing matters of profit, and carnal desire. More accurately, she was trying to strike a deal with a potential business partner, while he was trying to get his rocks off. Though it didn't take much trying on Migeulo's part, since Carina took to being the more aggressive one. And she thought things were progressing rather smoothly too, until the recent information of Migeulo's superiors was found out. But Migeulo was being stubbornly resistant. Perhaps she would need to be more direct. With the possibility of danger looming just out off sight, her patience was growing thin. Forcing Migeulo to look at her, she pressed protested lips to his; only to distract him for a moment. His rancid breath practically suffocating her, she took the moment of opportunity to force a flat hand down into her clinging boots and retreated with a small dagger in its grip. In quick motion, she touched a threatening blade to Migeulo's neck. He might not have noticed ether, if it had not been for the sting of poison as it spread from the blade, to his exposed skin. Feeling that she had a bit more control over him now, she gladly broke the kiss, wiping screaming lips before she spoke. "Now... tell me where the petch the rest of your men are, before I slit your petching throat." Her voice was calm, and even sounded pleasant; only enforced by the sweet smile at the end of her words. She hoped this approach would work to get quick information before the situation escalated to uncontrollable. Believing that Mok was just outside the tent, listening intently for any clues Migeulo might give. Unaware that he had left camp to investigate on his own. Nether Carina, or Migeulo, knew of the men that approached from the silent forest. And before ether of them had a chance to prepare, they were upon them. Angry voices sounded from right outside the small tent. She was out of time now, and it seemed Mok was nowhere to be found. Did that bastard leave me here?? Both hers, and Migeulo's eyes were fixed on the tents entrance when its canvas gave to a hit from the broad side of a blade, fluttering for a moment. Eyes scanning the tent, her heart was racing as she racked her mind for a plan. But while she was in the middle of fighting to suppress the panic that threatened to take hold, Migeulo seemed to think the men outside had come to rescue him. "Now you'll get it, how dare you raise your blade to me!" While his confident words were meant for Carina, the men on the outside seemed to think otherwise, coaxing another angry roar from the two men outside. Annoyance tugged at the two men, making them lash out at the tent with their blades. Cutting through the canvas with little, if any, difficulty. But not before searching fingers wrapped around Carinas ankle, delivering her easily from under the base of the tent and out into the night that would conceal her, and hands that would protect her. A sharp breath catching in her throat, Carina tried to say something in protest but her words were locked away when a strong hand closed over soft lips. But with dagger still in hand, she thrust her arm toward her captor, stopping mere inches from Mok's neck. Shock and relief played over her features simultaneously and moved through trembling limbs when she saw it was him that had saved her. And in the nick of time too. Silently thankful that he had the forethought or instincts to stop her from speaking. But before she could catch her breath, or relax, he released her, taking her hand in his. The two rose from the ground and hurriedly Mok lead her through the shadows towards the tree line and dark forest. She followed him without hesitation, being careful to be just as quiet as Mok, following in his steps. Meanwhile, back up on the hilltop, Carina could hear Migeulo talking loudly in defiance, confusion, and fear. Followed by the clang of flying metal against flying metal. A pained cry, then silence. It was a deafening silence that made her heart pound in her chest. Silence, giving birth to suspense of the moment. Would they be spotted, or could they get away unseen? The prospect seemed more and more hopeful as the welcoming forest drew closer in each step. And then the shadows enveloped them, keeping them hidden from view in its darkness. When Mok came to a stop, Carina turned to look back at the hill and the camp; certain she knew what happened, but still curious to see for herself. |
