Ser Erik nodded as he often did when listening to others speak. He took his words to be honest. Having family in the Knighthood helped a long with that, and although he didn't know the ones he mentioned personally it would due. "Young man, I will say this, when we are looking for future Knights, combat strength isn't the first thing on our list. Any man can be taught to swing a blade, but it's with the heart that he swings that we look at. His strength of character.Now..you say you'd like to join the mythrin outpost division, is their a patron there that looks to take you on?"

At the man's words Perc took a bit more heart, he could still be taught how to fight. He just had to prove to the knights that he had the will and heart to become a great knight.
When the patron came up though the tall youth deflated a little bit, though not by much. He didn't think any of his older siblings had had a patron at the start.. as far as he knew at the least.
"No there isn't a knight who is interested in taking me as a patron in the mythrin outpost." Perc honestly replied to the man. "I'm more then willing to prove my mettle to anybody you assign me to however. No matter what it takes."

Ser Erik nodded and waved his hand around for the boy to continue while he searched his desk for a clean form to use. "Alright then,.." He said once he found a piece and readied himself to take down the boy's information. "So..do you have a name, or would you prefer to be known as the squire?" He always wondered why people came in and spoke without addressing themselves, that was surely something that they would have to learn to do in the squire-hood. No self respecting knight went about without expressing their name. While he waited he went ahead and wrote down the Knight and company. Ser Ramones Dais of the Green Company of the 4th Regiment from the mythrin outpost.

Perc couldn't supress a wide smile as the knight pulled out a from of some kind. When he was asked his name he was pretty sure he already had told his name tot he man when he entered, but he wasn't going to make a big deal about that. It was early and the man was already quite old, he just might not be completely awake yet. Or might not have heard it because he hadn't spoken up enough or something else like that.
"Ah sorry bout that. I'm Perc oakshield." He waited till the knight had filled in the form, waiting if the knight needed any other questions answered.

Ethen Calden was nervous but yet excited after five years he worked for the Brock family as a page but now he was ready to become a squire. Ethen walked to the recruitment office and stride indoors then after waiting for some time in the line that lead to a office desk with a person sitting down Ethan asked "Hello, I'm here to meet someone so I can join as a squire"

Another day, another bell, another meal Ser Erik might say. He spent much of time in the office finding patrons for squires among other things like filing away their documents and records of who is who and with whomever. It was a tedious job, but the Knight was fine with it as it was. More people entered looking to join the ranks of the Knights and as long as they had a good head on their shoulders and a good heart, he was happy to help them.

Another young man entered and simply asked to become a squire. Ser Erik looked him over for a tick and spoke. "Do you have a name young squire-to-be, or are you going for the mysterious factor? Tell me, why is it you want to become a Knight?"

Ethen was overwhelm with embarrassment and blushed "Where my manners Ser. My name is Ethen Calden son of Ser Abarden Calden and Sera Calina Calden of Syliras. As the reason that I think that why I want be a knight is this truth, I can't say that I don't have impure intentions but I want is also every husband, wife, son, daughter, brother and sister wants and that is peace but the only way to have peace is, to fight it and protect every person that believe in peace."

" You can't say that you don't have impure intentions?" He paused for a moment, turning to look at the man to his side and those posted at the door. "Tell me Ethen Calden son of Ser Abarden Calden and Sera Calina, what are your intentions?" This new batch of squires were strange and their answers were curious if not bizarre.

"Well to be bold and truthful, my true intentions is wanting of power, rank and wealth but most of all freedom from my parents. Their are so overprotective of me and it became so overwhelming that I wanted to become a knight. I hope to show them that I can look after myself and teach them that I'm not just their son but could also be their brother at arms." said Ethen.

"So you're looking to strike out on your own aye? Well you won't exactly be on your own and I can promise you that your patron will be harder on you than your parents, but it's a step in the right direction." He nodded to the boy and found a slip of parchment to record his information on. "Let me ask you..this power and wealth that you seek, by what means do you plan to achieve it...or does that concern you?"
