Nothing Happened (Vala,Ven)

Postby Vala on July 26th, 2011, 10:38 pm

Vala savored the spoonful of warm, hearty soup before acknowledging Darren. While her disposition was by no means any brighter, her tolerance was at least strengthened by the nutritious fare. She did not edge closer; she was being gracious just by listening. “I have nothing to forgive.” She said loud enough for Ven to hear. Just because she wasn’t looking directly at him, didn’t mean she wasn’t keeping her eye out for her peripherals: with her mind starting to unfuzz, so was her distrust of everyone around her starting to consume her thoughts, as per usual. It was obvious from Ven’s silence, and muted movements that he wasn’t as focused on his food as much as he was on their ‘private’ conversation. Vala had yet to ‘reveal’ to Ven her powers: it benefited her, not at all. If he did find out, it would be no skin off her back. But either way, she wasn’t just going to start announcing to every Jack and Joe that she could see into their soul; that would make spying on people, now wary people, harder. Vala looked at straight into Darren’s eyes. Nothing happened yesterday.” Her tone was final; she continued to eat her meal.

Vala began to list the pros and cons of maintaining a ‘friendship’ with either men.

OOC Note :
Sorry if I’m kinda killing the mood, but it’s already a miracle Vala hadn’t just walked away from the two of you – drama/ awkwardness is not her thing. At one point Vala might just leave and it will be just between you two – just a heads up.

Nothing Happened (Vala,Ven)

Postby Darren on July 28th, 2011, 8:58 pm

Finally a straight face from her. Darren nodded in acceptance before lying back on his seat. At least she didn't really hate him, she just simply ignore it. Great. But did she forgive him for what happened this morning? Well... maybe I should talk about that another time. Letting out a long earned yawn he glanced slightly at Vala with his usual easy smile. "Thanks Vala, I appreciate this and you for helping me." He then started on his meal as he hummed a soft tune to himself. Tha Vantha was hungry, having nothing but the rations given during the hike up the mountain and a small tart left Darren absolutely famished. Though the Wind Reach as a whole stank of bird feathers and burnt material it wasn't enough to deter him from eating the fare they served.

It is said that the less time one spends tasting his or her food the more hungry and overall satisfied one feels at the end. He let out an apprciative chuckle rumble through him as he waited for the other two to eat. "Say... do you two do many things together? Roommate right? So you learn, help and grow fond of each other." Darren spoke as if what he said was already true, sitting with the pair he only wished he had them as neighbors or even work partners. "Same job maybe? You two help new people into town? Show them sights? I like sights. Care to show me one today? Or is it something else?" Darren wouldn't blame Vala if she didn't want to be seen with him. After all he did cross a few lines already, it was just... it meant so much to him to be friends with the first person to give him such an appealing, beautiful smile to him in Wind Reach.

"Please come..." He blinked slightly shocked as he realized what happened. During his inner monologue his hands reached over to grip Vala's before he spoke. Retracting his hand, slightly wary of the movement, he looked back at the two a bit confused for a mere moment before playing off the ordeal. "Heh... I can show you what I can do. After all I know what you can do. Only fair that I share." Though directed at Vala, the invitation was also given to Ven as Darren gave a approving nod towards the Kelvic. Though his deposition towards them hasn't changed, towards either of them. He was still an abusive type of guy but always willing to have others believe in him. "I heard there was a forest here? Maybe I can show off there?"

oocThe slight phantom hand I'm writing off as a long term exposure to constant fluxiness. I was talking about the new revised underground forest. What he envisioned was a beautiful landscape perfect for making it up to Vala and learning about Ven. You can change the place if you want just not... an Endal place please. I'm doing that with Fois.

Show off?!? The sound of this guy was top hilarious, it even made Ven choke down his last bit of food because he tried not to laugh. Such an odd fellow indeed, of all the humans Ven has ever studied this one no doubt was probably the dumbest to him. Or was he? There have been worse cases Ven has seen but in all odds this man no doubt wanted something. It was obvious the two before him had something going on, no matter how much Vala denied it something was there. Ven was not blind, and the time he spent being Vala's roommate had indeed taught him well.

He could only smirk when he decided respond to the man. "No the only thing we do together is share the same room, I sleep in the corner on a nice pillow and she has everything to herself. Pretty fair for me, considering the fact most Dek have no place. She works somewhere in the Enclave while I deliver messages, but no I don't usually help out people because I'm to busy delivering messages most days. Today just so happens to be different, since not many messages are needed to be carried around." He gave him an icy glare with the same smirk, no doubt he wanted to test Ven. No matter how he tried to think otherwise Darren really was challenging him, and Ven didn't refuse it one bit. The reason: because not only was it involving them two but Vala as well, seeing as how Vala has the spotlight on her as well as this guy's eyes. She was indeed part of this game, and that made Ven all the more excited about the challenge.

"As for the forest, well I'm game for some fresh air. After all my last message isn't really that important, and I have all day to deliver it; so I'd much rather wait." His smirk still remained as he glanced at Vala, she didn't know that the last message was a simple calender that was suppose to be sent to her. That was the only reason why Ven was searching for her, and now here she is with someone else. Right place at the right time, all to fun. "It really is up to Vala though, after all she knows the forests better than I." He didn't lie there, she did know the forests better then him. He hardly would ever venture out there, only a few times did he ever hunt with Vala.

Nothing Happened (Vala,Ven)

Postby Vala on July 29th, 2011, 8:18 am

You’re both idiots… Vala wanted to say; she almost did had it not been for the mouthful of bread and her strong sense of decorum. Vala watched with a deadpan stare, but listened with sharply poised ears. She easily discerned Ven’s insubordinate facial expression, it was a little too excited, plus that smirk was better fit on a dek with a caved in skull, preferably one that she had punched herself; that was not a challenge and instantly bored her. She did note the more assertive tone he took as he stole the conversation from under her. His words while true, were still bold. It wouldn’t be long before he was up to par on his Nari and a seasoned hunter, especially with all the little outings she had been taking the spoiled brat on. Vala was unsure of how to use what she saw in Ven, yet.

Instead of lashing out, as much as she wanted to, Vala exerted a great deal of will power to act civil, albeit quite detached. She pretended that the lowly Dek that slept on her floor hadn’t been so bold enough as to answer for her – it was just her imagination. Her tone was polite but suggested there would be no compromise. “I am not feeling well.” She felt a little feverish, as her light flush would suggest. “It would be reckless of me to go anywhere without taking proper care of my health.” She didn’t mention her fear of healers… and the fact she wanted to avoid them at any cost. “Another three bells of sleep will probably be enough for me to get my strength up.” Vala’s mind wandered to the sugary pastry she had hidden in her desk, which would serve as a quick pick me up. With enough sugar, anything is possible.

Vala was taking a risk, not a very drastic life threatening one, but still a risk that could have a severe negative impact on her health with a bare minimum output – in anything. It was probably her reduced mental faculties that even let her go ahead with such a harebrained plot to - just go hunting. What in Priskil’s name was Darren thinking? She didn’t even bother analyzing Ven; he would always be a child in her eyes.

It was a strange reaction, but Vala felt the need to kill, to hunt, to shroud the haunting images of the ‘possible’ death she had caused the night before. “I am not sure what time it is; I assume it is still early, maybe the 7th bell? How about we meet up at the gates at noon, when the sun is highest. I have been reading up on some hunting books and I read that some prey might possibly be physically encumbered during the hotter hours. Does that sound fair?” Vala interjected one last bit before they could respond, this time in Lhatvian. “Ven, would you mind not entering our room while I rest? I don’t want any disturbances. If you need anything you may walk with me and retrieve it before I sleep.” It was a gracious move, overtly nice for someone like her; Vala’s mood was beginning to pick up with thoughts of a hunt.

It was as if the day before had never happened.

OOC Note :
This is where Vala ‘steps out for a bit’. The boys can spend some time together if you guys want, or we can start another thread (after a few more posts) where we all meet up at the gates. (just because I like to keep threads short to keep the pace from dragging)

Nothing Happened (Vala,Ven)

Postby Darren on July 30th, 2011, 3:03 am

An exhasperation from the roommate soon followed his proposal. Smiling vibrantly at Ven he let out a low chuckle at Ven's expense as he watched the kelvic whole on his food. "Yes show off. You understand?" Kid has a nice smile. His brow furrowed slightly hearing Ven's living conditions even gaping slightly as he heard the word Dek associated with his name. The Vantha was a bit too surprised to notice the Kelvics's glare as he looked accusingly at Vala both for the conditions Ven was living in and his associated rank. "I thought you really dislike Dek." He let out a disgruntled sigh as his eyes shifted back to Ven. It looked like the Dek was coming along and Vala knew the forests? Oh joy! Looks like they had something else in common.

Grimacing slightly, Darren bought Vala's acting as she explained her condition. Raising his hand to speak, he let his mouth gape slightly as he chose to let Vala continue. I doubt she would be up for a massage after this morning. Maybe some other time. Nodding in acceptance to the terms given he gave a slight nod to Ven to possibly share in a moment of male bonding. His gaze went back to the Inarta woman as she mentioned her teachings. They have books here? And she bought some? Goodness Vala must be rich... He glanced over to Ven as he digested the terms given, three bells, more then enough time.

"Let's give that last message and then we can get ready. We can get to know each other" The Vantha granted he wasn't the biggest kelvic lover but he still had to learn a bit about deks and this offer would help him understand Ven and Deks as a whole. Perhaps an animal's view on what it meant to be placed so low would help him understand. "Dek is bad right? How are you friends with Vala? Are you really just pet? I don't think Dek is really what you should be. Pet seems better life."

Nothing Happened (Vala,Ven)

Postby Ven on July 30th, 2011, 4:57 am

OOC :
Wee! Darren your character really really puts me into character with Ven for some reason, I dunno why but it's cool how it works.;) As for Vala, I let you lead the way back to the room and Ven and Darren can kick it from there.

Ven nodded to show that he understood Vala, then felt the world stop around that one word; everything just came to a dead halt as his mind felt the sharp unbearable pain of that word simple word. His face dropped after the man had said THAT word, and grew very red with anger as the thought boiled within his mind. "No, no pet of Vala even IF I wanted. Which I don't at all." He glanced over at Vala again, then stood up next to the table with his back towards the two. He didn't want to be rude and leave them, but then he didn't want them to see him angered. If there was one thing that did insult him, it was being called a pet. Especially if it was Vala, though he wanted it one time that was when he first settled in. Now he didn't need a owner or master, he was on his own and that's the way he liked it.

Vala had indeed taught him much, too much really, about the world and how most things work. It was cruel and so was she, but he didn't care what she did or what she said to him. She was simply human. He learned that sharing emotions was pointless, and humans simply used those types of people. They're cruel and unforgivable, yet they could benefit from you as you could from them. It was the same case with Vala, and he benefited from her because she knew the language he needed best. What she could gain from him was what he didn't know nor care, either way they both would win. "Humans are overrated..." He mumbled while he thought out loud, realizing that he just said that he looked over his shoulder. Neither appeared to hear it so it must've been low enough just for his ears.

"My last message was for Vala, it's a calender for next season." He pulled it out and slipped it next to her bowl, still looking away from the two. "That's why I was wanting to wait until the end of the day, figured I'd surprise her I guess..." That was a lie of course, the real reason was because he thought he would discover something about her if he hung around her; but she obviously didn't have anything to give. Her act was greater than his, and she played the game better then he expected. He wasn't ready to challenge her...yet. Someday he will though, when everything falls in place. Just the thought of this made him smile inside, but the conversation still went through his head. "As for being a scum of the Earth though it's at least a start, when I've learned all I can of Nari then I can try and shoot for being a hunter. From there I might be able to rise through the ranks, it just so happens that Vala is kind enough to share her room." He felt his ego laugh, no matter what way he put it the truth was completely obvious. Only to use me for her better gain.

"Well, enough with the simple chit chat. If your done I'd like to put away this awful bag, but as usual Vala I would like you to lead the way." He stood tall but not proud, in fact his pride was hurt just a bit. Nothing noticeable really, or at least he hoped. All he could do was smile to cover up the damage and wait for Vala to lead the way.

Nothing Happened (Vala,Ven)

Postby Darren on August 5th, 2011, 4:03 pm

The Whitevine let out an amused look appear on his lips as Ven fervently defended his standing within the group. Weird. Doing whatever you wanted seemed like a good thing. Maybe it's means different here? Maybe, many things are in this place. "Oh my mistake. I did not know." He nodded slightly at Ven's response, giving a questioning look at Vala before turning to Ven. "Give it to her then. Who wrote to her?" However Ven went on another speech about his lot in life, Darren's eyes glazing over as he noted the title Ven gave himself. Scum of the earth. This place... The vantha would grip his hands tightly before hearing Ven's suggestion on letting Vala lead, that didn't seem like a good idea given her condition.

"Vala might not feel good right now. We can go and Vala will come whenever."
With that order Darren gestured Ven out, waving a polite goodbye to the weary, recently overgiven Inarta before following Ven out. Walking feeling somewhat sore and bloated he hobbled back to where Ven was leading him, a reassuring pat on the Kelvic's shoulder as Ven led the way. "So, Ven. Tell me about yourself. Kelvic right? We have kelvic in Avanthal too. Big bears. Very strong, very good. What are you? Bird? Wind Reach has alotta birds." An easy smile was given as he waited for Ven to talk, the vantha really did want to know about the funny looking youngster.

Nothing Happened (Vala,Ven)

Postby Ven on August 9th, 2011, 6:19 pm

Ven really couldn't hold a smile after what crossed his mind, but when he looked up to the smiling guy he really couldn't help but give a small grin. This guy sure asks a lot of questions, but it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and answer them. After all I need to distract my mind right now. "Fox. I wasn't born or raised in Wind Reach, I came here with a master once. He was weak though, and when a pack of hungry wolves decided to cross with us I had to hide somewhere away when they attacked. From that day I've been a resident of this place since then." When he spoke of the merchant he had no feeling toward him what-so-ever, any existing sign of him when he was the pet was now gone. He no longer needed that attachment, and found it better to cut it out of him before it came to existence.

He still needed his mind to focus on something though, since they were walking to the forest without Vala it was up to him now on what to say really. Yet he didn't have the slightest clue on where to begin, all he knew was that he was leading a man to the forest so he could "Show off" his talents. Ven didn't prefer to show off, it was how most people would do something stupid or hurt themselves trying to pull of something stupid. What this guy is doing is only proving himself though, there is nothing wrong with it. He needs more socials to keep in touch with and I guess I do too. We could both benefit some how later on. He looked to the guy as they now were approaching the gates to the forest, curious about the fellow before him. "So guy, I never really got your name. Nor where your from. So tell me about you really."

Not much actually happened, but again, if I missed any XP or lore, let me know.
