The most challenging thing I find about writing up the Haar Pod and its corresponding location, Gullet Cove, is how to balance the
Svefra Lore with the knowledge I have of medieval life, sailing technologies, and maritime traditions.
The Haar Pod have traditionally been shipbuilders it stands to reason that they would be a more disciplined lot as compared to the other Svefra since any tomfoolery while making a boat or ship could lead to the entire project being wasted. So I envision the Haar Pod members to have the "work hard, party harder" mentality. When they work they're really focused on work, but when they let their hair down they throw quite a party.
It also stands to reason that the boats of the Haar Pod would be better maintained compared to those of the other Svefra. However, such maintenance comes at a price according to maritime traditions, especially in a large ship such as a Palavar. Discipline is a must due to the required daily maintenance of a ship whether it is making oakum, scrubbing the decks, making minor repairs, and so on.
Then there's the area I have placed the Haar Pod in, which is Northern Taldera. There's an undeveloped city near their traditional hunting grounds; Novallas. Obviously Novallas will have an impact on the Haar Pod and any other Northern Svefra by virtue of proximity. However, like I said, Novallas is undeveloped so I wiil have to generalize a lot of things in order to alllow for insertion of information from when Novallas is detailed.
