A Thief in the Night (Darik)

Fallon's eyes grew as big as saucers she saw the knife. "Woah, hey now! No need for that thing!" she exclaimed in surprise, holding her hands up and taking a step back. A tiny trickle of fear leaked into her heart, but only a little. The man, or boy really, now that she thought about it, wasn't exactly intimidating. His weapon, however, was another story. "Surely we can just talk this out, right?" Her voice rose a few octaves, bordering on desperation. Shyke, she was way past desperate! "What do you want for the ring? Money? I have plenty of money. Please, just give me my ring back. I won't bother you again! Please!" Belatedly, she realized she just gave him another reason to rob her, but the thought was fleeting; overpowered by her desperate state of mind. Fallon must have been a pathetic sight, but she was beyond caring anymore. She would gladly make a fool of herself if it meant she got her ring back.

DarikYeah, things got hectic there for a bit and I got overwhelmed by everything, so I had to just step away for a little while. But I have returned! :) Sorry if my MIA-ness caused any inconveniences.

A Thief in the Night (Darik)

oocNa, its fine. :P
The girl puzzled him, she spoke as if she was scared of the knife. They lived in Sunberth, not some backwards pansy society! “There isn’t? And why would that be? You refuse to listen to all reason that it is my ring. So I see no other choice than a competition.” There seriously was no other way, he had tried all others. Also Darik wanted to be safe at home by now. Staying out this late would always attract trouble, and it would be much worse than a little girl.

”You have money?” If Darik had been a dog his ears would have perked up and his nose would have sniffed the air. ”So…how much do you have? Where did you get it from?” He talked slowly prolonging the words. He started to clear the distance getting closer to the Fallon. He didn’t even look at the ring on the ground, there were better fish in the sea. He would pick it up later, but first he had a girl to deal with.

He lunged, trying to grab her wrist with his fingers. “Well well missy, what are you going to do now? How much do you value life? Because if you value it in the least bit you will have to hand me over the money you were talking about. And don’t tell me you don’t have any because I know a liar when I see one.” He spoke close to her face, trying to intimidate her. He had a feeling the girl was going to hand the money no strings attached.

oocRun away! :P Also yes, I did make my character grab yours but feel free to break free in whatever way possible! :D

A Thief in the Night (Darik)

The boy visibly perked up at the mention of money. "You have money?" he demanded, stalking towards her. Fallon gulped. Okay, so maybe that wasn’t her best idea. Suddenly, he lunged forward and gripped her wrist. A startled gasp escaped her lips as he got in her face. She started to squirm, tugging on her wrist. “Like I would tell you.” she retorted, sounding much braver than she felt. Finally, she broke free and backed up, putting some space between them.

How much did she value life? Quite a lot, but Fallon wasn’t about to let him know that.

“Unless you give me my ring back, you won’t be getting any of my money.” They both knew that wasn’t true. The boy could easily reach into her pockets and get the money for himself. Fallon prayed to the gods he didn’t realize that as well. That would just be insult to injury. The pouch in her back pocket suddenly seemed to weigh more than she did.

Oh, how she just wanted this night to be over. Tears prickled in the corner of her eyes, but she held them back. Truthfully, she was surprised she hadn’t cried yet. She willed herself to be stronger than that. Fallon couldn’t afford to show anymore weakness. Being weak got you killed around here. She was beginning to understand that all too well.

OOCYeah, my character's weak. Deal with it! :P How much longer do you want this thing to go for?
