Summer , 13th 511 AV The market place buzzed with the chatter of people who slowly made their way through the snow covered streets of Avanthal. Each shop was just hanging their ‘open for business’ signs in the windows, and plumes of grey, whispy, smoke rose from the chimney stacks; as new products and merchandise were being crafted. The sky itself looked generous today; a clear and gentle blue had claimed the firmament, and there was nary a cloud in sight. Mortemor had managed to rise somewhat early today, but her grogginess had become a perpetual annoyance that never seemed to go away. She hated winter, and the cold; it made her feel tired constantly. But she was determined to brave the cold and go out in search for tools that she would need while journeying; and not even the strong urge to just sleep in, and hibernate under a pile of quilts was going to stop her. “Aaah!” Morte yawned, placing her palm over her mouth as tears formed at the edge of her green and gold flecked eyes. She shook her head slightly, still battling the desire to snooze. “I wonder where Keva and Khamina have gotten off too…” Mortemor lazily murmured to herself. The young red-head yanked down her cloak’s hood, hoping that the chill lingering in the air would further aid her in shedding the sensation of tiredness; that plagued every limb in her body. The Halfling would soon come to the market center, where items of all kind were being sold. Mortemor strolled through the main street, passing small groups of shoppers who held bags and parcels filled with things they had just purchased. It reminded her a little of the bustling docks of Zeltiva; where sailors and merchants of all kinds would make their way up and down the docks, carrying heavy boxes of cargo to be divided up amongst the shops. Morte wasn’t happy to admit it, but she was already feeling a bit homesick. The flamed haired woman decided to distract her brain from such thoughts, and began window shopping. The first few shops she passed sold things like souvenirs for travelers and fur clothing. But one shop did catch the young wander’s eyes, and suddenly she found herself with her nose pressed to the glass. Bows and arrows of all sizes and shapes lined the walls of the interior of the shop. Many of them looked to be finely crafted with expert attention to detail. Mortemor suddenly blushed as though she had just set her gaze onto a cute boy. “Oh my!” She swooned eyeing a particularly decorative bow that was set on the shelf above the others. |
