Dulcamara Solanum Outside
Name pronunciation: Dull-kaa-mara So-laa-num Race: Symenestra Age: (Born 488 AV) 23 years Length: 6'3'' Weight: 150 lbs Appearance: The skin could have been carved from marble in its perfect pallor; only faint silver veins stretching out from the temples in a delicate webbing hints that this creature is actually alive. Even paler it becomes in comparison to the silky black hair that hangs loose around the face, reaching to the middle of his back. Tall and slim, he holds a regal posture with straightened back and a peaceful yet aloof expression, as if he's watching the life's events from a great height. His eyes holds a deep amethyst color, that appears to shift in shade depending on the light; from the furious pale lavender to a deep and warm bluish purple that brings the thought to some beautiful flower, soft yet poisonous. Dressing in black leather armor and gray to purple silks, he doesn't believe in adapting the clothing to the environment. He doesn't care if he is seen, and instead is more prone to enhance his pallor and inhuman appearances; it has become quite the game to find out what the local humans have heard about his race, and then act just as they expect. Inside
Personality: A melancholy man, Dulcamara is usually acting mild and patient and believes that everything happens in its due time, neither too soon nor too late. Everything will work out when the time is right for it to do so. He enjoys the night and the darkness and claims that it makes him feel more alive. Perhaps it is also because it's easy to hide in the shadows He has never had any qualms about who he is and what he can do; to him humans are a somewhat amusing but still fairly unimportant race, that can be eaten just as easily as they can be conversed with. Generally speaking he is more respectful to other races, without for that matter ever act submissive. He is well aware that he is dangerous, and seem to enjoy the terror his mere presence can cause. Claws and fangs are rarely openly used however. In public he acts like a good-natured man and peacefully bows to the local laws, at least during daytime. At night however, or in placed where he can't be seen by many, he always begin to stretch the line, bend the rules and generally do as he pleases. He is not beyond hunting in cities for a snack, but it goes against his moral principles to feed on someone he has interacted with. Much in the same way a human would be reluctant to eat the meat of a horse that has carried them, he will if he has to but otherwise refrains from it. Thus, he is only dangerous until you have had a conversation with him. Dulcamara makes no efforts when it comes to blending in among humans. If anything he only enhances his foreign looks and much enjoys seeing the dread on peoples faces as they realize what he is and recollect all the horrible tales they have heard. He doesn't correct them; often there is always a truth behind legends and myths, and he believes that the humans are correct to be wary. He after all, could just as well destroy them as any other person. Morals: Lets just be honest. Morals aren't very fun, they tend to give people headaches and they will feel miserable when they fail to live up to them. Dulcamara has long since learned that it is best to keep the mind free and ignore any eventual bouts of bad conscience. He is a thief and a murderer. He takes life without any qualms, whether he is hungry or just bored, and with zeal if they anger him. Pain is to him fascinating, as in a sado-masochistic wish to let others experience the pain he has lived through, while at the same time sharing or reliving his own pain. It makes him feel good to feel bad, the bittersweet knowledge that he could have been good but chooses not to be is wonderful. In his life he only strives for amusement, because in his youthful arrogance he has decided that everything he ever wanted has been taken away, and there isn't anything worth truly living for. Possessions belong to the one who can hold on to them, and in a strange way he seems to believe that life itself is nothing but another possession. He hates happy people and long to take away their happiness in whatever way he can. It has never occurred to him that he can try and create his own happiness, the process is utterly unknown and he wouldn't know where to start even if he tried. Messing with people has become a lifestyle, from petty things like making them wait for him to destroying everything around them, just for the pleasure of seeing them writhe in pain. But just as he can be completely and utterly vicious and destroy everything he touches, the Symenestra can on random occasions be both soft and even gentle, act kind and merciful.. It all depends on his mood at the time, whether the subject is interesting or the price is good enough. In that way, he is very unpredictable and one can never be sure how he is going to react to any given situation. His mind is unstable, he is easily swayed, and for those that spend even a small amount of time with him it quickly becomes apparent how difficult, yet easy it is to deal with him. As long as one knows his weak points one can blackmail him into doing things While Dulcamara isn't a man of many principles, even he has limits. They are few and can be overlooked, but as a general rule he will not deal with certain things, because they make his stomach feel strange and might give him real trouble. Children. He finds it distasteful to cause harm and kill any kind of child, ranging from human ones to animal cubs to even small plants. It's something about their size and big wet eyes that makes him uncomfortable. Perhaps even he has a soft spot... Priests. Not because he has any more affection for those people than any others, but as a general rule it is unwise to attract the attention of the gods. Killing a priest, or for that matter a person with a certain amount of Gnosis mark is a good way of attracting the wrong kind of attention, and Dulcamara is unwilling to carry the kind of responsibilities such a thing could bring. Curse marks would be rather bothersome too... Healers. Generally they are harmless people that can be useful at times, and it would be illogical to kill someone that could become needed later. Working for free. Dulcamara is a man who is for hire, for a wide variety of tasks. That being said, he wouldn't dream of doing something without receiving proper payment. Not necessarily in hard cash, the payment can consist of anything he finds worth his time. The point is, he isn't a man that does people favors. Even if he is the one stepping in, he will most likely demand repayment in some way. Beware. He isn't cheap. Breaking promises. As much of a bastard as he is, if someone actually manages to coax a promise out of him, Dulcamara will do his best to keep to his word. Circumstances always change and it might not always be wise to keep to certain things, but if he can he will remain true to his word. He is to egoistical to allow people to think of him as dishonest or a liar. Unfortunately, this isn't always a good thing. In fact, if you manage to anger him in such a way that he actually remembers your face, a vow to make your life miserable and unsafe will be kept, with even more passion than any other vow. More things will surely be added, and there are always exceptions to any rule. If someone who fits on the list would happen to do something that goes against Dulcamara, he isn't foreign to ignoring his conscience and dealing with the matter anyway. No one is safe, unless he explicitly tells you so. Gathered knowledge

History: Native to Kalinor in the region of Kalea. There he was born and raised by his mother, who had managed to survive the pregnancy and the birth. As he grew up he befriended and fell in love with a young symenestra woman; they were good friends, but she had no feelings of love for him, but rather towards Dulcamara's best male friend. They argued and intrigued about it back and forth, but it ended up with Dulcamara being disgraced, after which he chose to leave the city. He began to travel north into the Taldera region, but unaccustomed to living in the wild as he was he soon ended up lost and starved, unable to find food for himself. He was saved by a benevolent Dhani who refrained from eating him - since he could be as poisonus as her - and brought to the Nest. He stayed with them for about a year and learned about poisons and some of their language; eventually he became restless though and left, to once again travel. He continued towards the north-east, where he moved between settlements until he ended up in Novallas; there he heard a rumor that intrigued him enough to leave once more, heading for the populated areas of Sylira.
