Character History
Bennet was the only child of a relatively well-off couple in Syliras. His parents managed a trading concern for the Knights; his father traveled with the trading caravans while his mother managed the store.
His relatively idyllic life was shattered by the sudden death of his father; his caravan and all with it was lost to marauding monsters. There wasn't even a body left to bury. His mother took the loss hard. She drowned herself in her work, but in the end her sorrow was just too great. She died not two years after her husband. Bennet was thirteen when his mother passed away.
Bennet was left an angry and confused young man; angry at the world and the gods for what he perceived was a grave injustice done to him. During this time he heard of an island where it is said the goddess of death resided. He spent almost all of his inheritance in finding out more about this place and how to get there. Finally he had a name and a location; Black Rock.
Taking the last of his inheritance he bought passage to Black Rock from one of the Svefra of the Suvan. He arrived at Black Rock fully intending to face the goddess Dira even if it was with his last living breath. Perhaps he was insane, or maybe he was guided by the fickle hand of Fate. He found his way to Dira's Spire and was allowed by the Omens to go through the obsidian doors onto the main staircase... [Flashback] Omnis Intereo
