 PC Name: Daston (Snowsong)

 Alias: Auroren (nickname given by adopted parents) Avan (this will usually be the name he gives out to someone he isn’t sure he can trust)

 Physical Information

 Race: Vantha

 Birthday & Age: Blue Watch-stone day 13 of 492 (age 18)

 Gender: Male

 Physical Description
 Very pale skin (for a Vantha anyway). He is 6'0'' tall and 166lbs pounds. He is fairly thin with moderately well-toned muscles and flexible limbs from hard work, weapons training, and the forced dance lessons (but now appreciates the talent in his maturity). He has black medium length hair with a boyish haircut trimmed just enough to keep out of his eyes. Under moonlight or an aurora Greenish-blue highlights are easily visible.

 Eyes: As a Vantha his eye color constantly change based on his emotions, most often he is in either a state of contentment or a state of contemplation (though contemplation more so than contentment, but always contentment before contemplation). If he is content his eyes will be a very light shade of ice blue, if he is contemplating something (usually something like life, ethics, or philosophy.) they will boast a graceful swirl of a dark green color and deep ocean blue or each eye will take them on separately (one ocean blue the other green). When he is anticipating something or is concentrating (This will be his eye color during a fight, training, studying, whenever he has his guard up etc..) his eyes turn indigo. When in anger they turn red (a big shout out to someone who is mocking him that they are getting to him.). When he is depressed they are gray. When he is happy beyond contentment they turn Amber. When he is embarrassed they are brown. If he is in fear they turn pale green. His eyes have turned this color only once, when he is feeling dark (as in evil) they turn black and have an easily recognizable aura of wickedness about them (as in one doesn’t have to know black is bad for them to realize that Daston is thinking about doing some kind of great evil.) Finally if he ever did something extremely saint like, they would turn gold-white, this has also happened once (something big like, sacrifice himself for another.).

 Eye list form(same as paragraph above but easier to reference) and as a general guideline the more intense the emotion, the more brilliant the color.

 Ice-blue: Content
 Indigo: Concentration
 Dark green and Blue: Contemplative
 Red: Anger
 Gray: Sad/Depressed
 Amber: Happiness (beyond contentment)
 Brown: Embarresment
 Pale green: Fear
 Black: cold hearted evil
 Gold-white: is doing something saint-like
 (didn’t mention this one in the paragraph) All colors at once: Is probably dying and accepting death, the state where emotions are at their highest but is still in a state of coping with them.

 Character Concept

 Alignment: Neutral Good (I play D&D every so often, ill never view a character witout thinking about that alignment chart ever again, had to add it in here :P.) Will always try to do what he believes is right, usually staying within the confines of law, but will break it without hesitation when necessary.

 Personality – He inherited much of the upbeat nature of Vatha, but also developed traits that tend away from his nature. He is quite often thinks about things philosophically, letting what most will pass as nothing strike at his very heart. Tones of settings and the questions of life affect his emotions because they are on his mind very often. For example if he is a silent magical forest (generic I know) at night sitting at the base of a tree, if the forest is loud and has a lively tone he will get the vibe it is happy, and right, but if it is heavy with silence, then the vibe is sad and evil. Though anyone passing through could sense this obvious tone of setting, he would let it get to him and he could dwell on thoughts relating to it for hours. Another quick example would be the emotions of war and battle, he has lost people he cared about and it greatly affected him because of all the memories he shared with them. This has transferred to when he has to use measures to kill another being, he thinks about their life, what it could have been, what it could be if they were not dead. Though there is a time and a place for mourning, if he is in battle he won’t stop to think, survival comes first, but when all is quiet, he is usually silent and keeps to himself, expressing sorrow only through his gray eyes.

 Ethics – He is definitely a do-gooder, despite the odds realism and logic often portray in a situation that bodes against what he feels is right he will often ignore his brain and try anyway. What is right for him is usually based on the underlying concept of the preservation of life that he has accepted as a universal right.

 Likes – What most guys his age like: girls, adventure, and competition. As well as debating philosophical concepts and striving for self-improvement.

 Dislikes –

 He has a fear of the undead, they just freak him out.
 He hates to see the strong pick on the weak, and nearly just as much hates to see the helpless not receive help when aid is required.

 Character History

 Pre-Creation –
 He is adopted. His parents found him as an infant wrapped in a well-crafted fur blanket that emitted Djed which created the warmth his body normally would not have been able to create keeping him alive. They told him at a young age so he accepted it early. His mother told him the aurora in the sky became dark for just a moment, then became normal. This unusual event made her believe it was a sign of something, so she walked into a vast open plain of snow, miles and miles ahead of her she saw an object, she walked to it and found Daston. She told him he was her little gift from the Aurora and gave him the nickname Auroren, his adopted father decided to name him Daston because he wanted Auroren to stay within the family so only they called him that, everyone else called him Daston. Naturally he considered himself to be Daston, as he was most often called that name, but considers Auroren to be a middle name of sorts. He wasn’t sure if he believed the bit about the aurora, but the elders of the Avantha called him “child of the snow”, which meant he might actually have been found in the snow, though they could have just been remarking on his unusually pale skin. His pale skin was often the demise of his early childhood to pre-teen years as he was often made fun of for being different.
 The beginning of his teen years was the start of him thinking more philosophically and conceptualizing things beyond their face value. He found himself in the temple of Everwinter asking the elder worshippers about magic which utterly fascinated philosophically and intrigued him practically. He did not learn to use magic, because there were no wizards to teach him as most people frowned upon such wizards and if any were around he didn’t know who they were. He dared not go to Morwen to ask her for training, he had always been a little unsure about gods and goddesses they seemed chaotic to him. He never had real experience with gods or goddesses but from stories he has heard they are as full of emotion as humans which mean they make mistakes. Except their mistakes can be far more drastic which is why he has little trust in them. He lacked of confidence to go to Morwen, and the lack of skill to travel safely elsewhere for training so he decided he would spend time learning the way of the sword from his father, an old ex- polar bear guard (his parents were fairly old when they found him.). His mother was at first opposed to the training but Daston managed to make a deal that he would allow her to teach him how to dance if he could continue training with his father. She had always wanted to teach him but he never wanted to learn. He joined the hold of Snowsong because of his interest in playing music on the fiddle, which was a hobby learned on his own accord. As he grew older swordsmanship became a goal or rather a key that would someday set him free from Avanthal. The quest grew to become less about magic and more about seeing the rest of the world and meeting new people, though he still constantly had both on his mind. To some extent he gave up much of his social life because what time that was not spent training was spent bothering the elders with debate, helping at the Whitevine healing center, practicing dance, or playing his fiddle.
 When Daston became of age he nearly asked Morwen to teach him Reimancy as she gave him “The mark” but decided against it, as she might have been offended and decided against giving him the mark, which would have shamed him and his family to an extent. Recently his father gave him a long speech about life, about his potential to do anything he wants, and passed along as much wisdom as he could, which ended in tears. Daston knew this was no ordinary speech but the final speech of a father whose son was about to go off on his own and perhaps never come back. His father gave Daston his sword from when he was a Polar bear guard as his last gift to him and as a memory of Avanthal. He also gave him a chain necklace with a snowflake symbol attached to it. He said it was found around his neck when they found him in the snow. He was afraid he would lose it but felt it was the right time to give it back, because he was becoming a man. He said his goodbyes to his mother and father, and set off to gather supplies before leaving for wherever he was going to go… which he was not entirely sure of yet.
 That is basically where it leaves off for Daston… He will probably gather
