Just as a clarification at one point in time the question what turns you on just meant what do you like. It was not until later that the question became a sex thing.

So this is sort of an open apology/warning to all of you wanting to thread with me at some point in the near future.

My writing quality has dropped significantly since the last time I was on Miz. It's to the point that when I look back at the posts from the last season I was active, I get (somewhat) upset. I can identify why my writing is bad now. I start with all these verb laden clauses. There's little to no emotion in my posts and they just feel so much more flat. They lack passion and I lack passion for them. I'm desperately hoping that I can push through this slump and get back to where I used to be. That's my goal. I eventually want to push those limits and become a better writer, but I can't do that if I'm 10 steps behind where I was in 2012.

I think that's what bothers me the most. I don't even understand how I got worse. It's not like my life outside of Miz has changed. I am writing far more academic writing than I did back then (like 100 pages per semester compared to the 10 per semester I was writing in 2012). Still, it doesn't make sense. Increasing my academic writing shouldn't absolute ruin my creative writing.

Well, whatever the cause is, I'm sorry y'all have to deal with these awful posts. I'm hoping to get better and I also hope that you guys can stay with me and inspire me with your wonderful prose in the interim.

I think you said it yourself; there's no emotion Putting emotion in your writing comes with practice, and can get rusty very fast. (It'd basically like a habit. Takes time to form, but also can go away through disuse.)

I don't claim to be an expert, but it seems to me that academic writing would be worth shyke for emotion Then again, I'm severely biased against it. Creative writing is much more fun

And of course, I will be happy to continue writing with you, as long as you put up with my short posts that barely serve to move the plot along and not much else x.x

Just to add in my two cents, I think we all feel like we have inadequacies in our writing. I know I certainly do.

But as long as we work to get better and to resolve the issues and improve, even if it's difficult or if it feels like nothing's working, I think we can also be proud of what we do. It's when you give up that you've got to start really worrying. ^_^

I just wanted to share/immortalize the wonderful poem Keene wrote (in a comment on my profile). I love it. Keene is the best cheerleader ;DD
