"The horse should choose the rider," he agreed, though when a Strider chose a Drykas, that was a spiritual thing as well, at least according to the Drykas people. But the same seemed to be true of non-Drykas and their mounts as well. Personalities had to mesh, as well as physical needs. Horse, his Windrunner, might have carried Serpente, but he would not have been able to achieve those speeds that he could with Sama'el's slighter weight.

He led the way, walking between Serpente and Dohaina, making small talk until they reached Steeds and Yves.

"Well," he said, making a wide gesture, "have a look around. See if anyone strikes your fancy. If you don't speak Pavi and nobody here speaks Common, I'll translate for you."

Always good to read first encounter threads and see how characters act when they meet eachother. I wish this thread hadn't ended before it finished, because I would have liked to see how it played out and what kind of horse Serpente ended up with. I wish I could have given you both more for this thread.
