While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

Isssn't That Fasssscinating... [Irriari]

Who: Closed - Irriari, please.
When: Summer, 511 AV (day TBA by Irriari)
Where: Sylira Wildlands, Outside of Ravok

It was getting to towards dusk. It was a good a time as any - the diurnal creatures were retiring, and the nocturnal ones were only beginning to get their bearings. There were always more dangers in the forested wildlands outside of Ravok in the evening, but she, at least, was armed with wings and claws and her bow. With luck, there wasn't anything she wouldn't be able to escape the ground from to avoid, and, well, she would have to deal with winged predators when she came to them. It couldn’t be helped - she was running low in her stores, and investigating the local foliage could only help her knowledge. If you didn’t take risks, you couldn’t advance. And it would do no good to just work with mushrooms, though there were always those. Sahiri had promised that there were such mushrooms out there along the big trees a little ways back from the water - apparently, the moisture and the thick canopies helped them grow in the woodlands along the ground. She had seen them, and told Irriari where to go for them.

ImageAnd sure enough, there were mushrooms there - right where Sahiri had told her. Big ones and small ones, some much older than the little ones that were hardly more than spores, ranging from a quarter of an inch in diameters of their caps to big ones that were bigger than the length of her hand. They were lightly coloured, but for the dark centers of the caps. Their stalks were seemingly peeling off in light brown flakes, giving them a rather shaggy look. They looked almost like parasols. Just barely in sight, at a much deeper distance away, there were others, golden yellow and absolutely covering one tree trunk in strange, almost feathery layers. How odd. Still, they weren't like anything she had ever seen before. Image

The night was young - who knew what else she could find out here tonight? Or, for that matter, what could find her... because the forest was starting to come alive with the rustles and bustles of the local nightlife... some of which could be looking for a Zith-sized snack. Still, so long as she was on her guard... there was work to be done.
