Sarye couldn't stop the tears from pouring down her face she was grateful that no one had come into the baths since they had been in here. She was also grateful for Taln coming to her rescue like he was and she knew she had to find some way to repay him.
Kerra took a deep breath as she took Taln's verbal assault knowing that a blow from him would damage more than just her reputation among the Dek caste. Her deep brown eyes never leaving his emrald ones. Her glare could frighten most Dek but she knew that it wouldn't work on Taln now. The only thing that changed in her facial expression was a slight eyebrow raise when he started reminding her about what he did to that Dek last year. He deserved what he had gotten but that put enough fear into Kerra that her gaze came unglued from his.
"I'll leave but only because I'd rather keep my pretty face intact," Kerra replied sarcastically, "Your precious Sarye will be safe for now." Kerra turned and ran away from the two of them making sure that Taln couldn't get to her.
Sarye had finally started to wipe her tears away now that Kerra was gone.
"I'm sorry, Taln, I didn't think she would be like that. She's normally just closed off not really angry with me. I guess you know her better than I do with saying all of that stuff about her. You two probably grew up together. The pain you both endured and still you came out a decent Inartan unlike her." Sarye reached for his hand once again needing some kind of comfort.
